Pakistan tests Ghaznavi surface-to-surface ballistic missile which is "capable of delivering multiple types of warheads up to 290 kilometres". The 290 km might seem less to some but act as a great strategic deterrent for Pakistans enemies.
The Ghaznavi is a hypersonic tactical missile that can carry multiple nuke warheads, which is useful militarily to Pakistan as it is hard for Indian air defence systems to intercept such a low range and short flight missile, it has been developed to counter India's cold start doctrine which is to flood the Pakistani frontier with massive military formations and overrun the Pakistani Military. Pakistan unlike China and India has reserved the right to use tactical nukes if its existence is ever threatened by enemy forces.
