Fixed, just had to save it as a png not a jpeg. Been a long time since I saved a new version so I had forgotten the save settings.

Synnadine wrote:To be fair even without the pictures, you're always 100% free to ask questions and I'll answer to the best of my ability!

Oh thank you! I’ve been working on reading through peoples fact books.

Synnadine wrote:OOC: So I remember marking out the labels manually for the 459 regions of North, West, and South Vedran. Just checked all of my saved map files on both my new computer AND old computer (just in case there was a file from old to new that I missed when copying them) but nope...didn't miss any. I don't have that saved anywhere ;_:

I FOUND IT! It's an old file but I found it. Unfortunately it's just a picture, the actual progress itself on my updated versions is still lost, BUT the picture is really only needed to see the district/region lay out anyways. Which it does.

The only difference between this version and more updated versions is you can still see Blazeheart Island, which I removed in latter versions because (fun fact) THIS MAP IS TO SCALE! And Blazeheart Island is 100000% not that big, at all, and there was no way to make it smaller cause it was already a single cell in size, so. I removed it. If it were a map file there'd be WAY more differences than that, but since none of those differences are shown through this pictures overlay it doesn't matter. Still don't know why all those labels were deleted, must've been from the forced update via the generator itself being updated.

This picture serves its purpose, so no need for me to redo manually making all these district and region labels...thank Ztu.

For reference, the district/regions version is v1.9.4 of the map. My most recent versions are v2.1.0

Low key, basically all of my factbooks are out of date. Some more so than others.... XD

Oh. Well... darn.

Most of them are just updates with new information that is lacking, I can't really think of any that are just outright wrong now except my Savior Factbook (they've been totally reworked).

Well, I’ll still read them! It’s interesting!

History, as everyone knows, likes to repeat itself. Vast changes in societies and technology lead to rediscovery of past ways of life. In the modern age of Threat Assessment, and the ability to track dangerous individuals and weaponry through satellite surveillance, crimes as they were known in the years before vastly decreased in number. It is harder to smuggle weapons or use guns in crimes deeper in Vedran and other modern nations utilizing this technology. High Threat Targets especially found crimes difficult to commit when their TAS is so easy to track. The fiasco Weston had to contain with the Vedrani government when they were about to discover tens of thousands of G-Rank individuals in one city was evidence of that. So the common thug and organized crime alike were forced to return to older methods, harder to track on such a low power scale. The use of fists and advanced fighting techniques, new surges of unarmed clashes and crimes rose to replace gun violence where it could. Some few found ways of gaming the system even further, underhanded tactics to turn Threat Assessment against itself. The technology was halfway there in the Limiters used in the Reonne fighting tournaments and games. All it would take for a particularly daring and powerful individual to gain an advantage against their competitors, mundane and not, would be to cross the finish line.

Unknown City, 8:58 AM

Even in the morning in this packed part of the city, the restaurants are churning out food and bills at a breakneck pace to keep up with the unending traffic. One particular noodle joint has every table and barstool packed, with a number of people milling outside trying to decide if they want to wait for an opening or go try their luck elsewhere. Many of them look with a mix of envy and indignation at the open seats at the bar around two men, before realizing who they are and avoiding looking at them altogether. There's no surprise that the economy is doing well and businesses are booming. There's money to be had and won. The majority of the population are able to dress very well. But the amount of money put into their perfectly tailored and eye-catching suits and shoes expensive enough to buy a sports atmo. Both men are well muscled even under their suits, but the man with the shaved head and spotless white suit is massive, well over six foot and looking to be at least 280 pounds of pure muscle and bulk. The black dress shirt underneath it contrasts against it, not that anyone besides workers behind the counter would notice. His companion draws less attention than the giant, long auburn hair is cut right at the shoulders, curling upwards slightly at the ends as it lacks the length and weight to keep dropping straight down. His black suit and burgundy shirt boasts a little more color, but next to the far larger man he draws far less attention. But the dangerous air between the two of them, along with the eyepatch implant over the younger man's left eye is enough to keep the seats next to them vacant. They are organized crime. Accarsi. The mob. Their origins are steeped in folklore, but is accepted in every day life. There are a number of families across Purira, some more under control than others, but difficult to pin down by law enforcement. Either by force, laws, or money lining their pockets to look the other way. The giant is well known in the area as Perrier Touvinat the Giant, a major member of the Accarsi controlling near half of the city's underworld. Things with him being involved in the area aren't so bad, as small time criminals learn quick to stay out of their territory, but citizens and the law stay wary of his movements whenever he is traveling, especially outside his normal retinue of guards. Only having one man with him, and not an Accarsi from around here, is most odd. Very few of the long time residents of the town would recognize him if they got a good long look at him. It has been a while since he has been home.

"To think you would be able to put down three bowls so quickly after everything you ate last night, haha, you have to try harder to get as big as me." Perrier slaps his junior's shoulder with a laugh, gaining an annoyed look out of the man's one good eye. "Oh, thinking yourself too big for some tough love from the man who raised you, now that you answer to the boss eh?"

Saban Nito, former member of the Touvina family that Perrier is in huffs as he slurps down what he had in his mouth before Perrier tried to get him to bite his tongue off. "If you think that's love I'm worried about your mistress. She still alive?"

"Which one? Hahaha! Hah, you really are eating a lot more, yet you're still skin and bones. Part of the new job?"

"In a way." Saban shovels more new noodles into his mouth before finishing the bowl quickly. His old mentor and the man who brought him into the life after spending most of his childhood bouncing between orphanages watches him silently.

"I see you lost your eye."

"Mhm."

"Cost of initiation."

"Mhm."

"Leaving this life is difficult enough. If I had known how far you would get..."

"What is there to go to?" Saban's empty bowl is pushed away by a hand before it grabs his drink and downs a swig. "The Accarsi gave me a life. YOU gave me a life. If it weren't for you I'd probably be in lockup or dead for something stupid. Or living on the streets. I'm happy where I'm at."

"Yeah."

"This right here..." Saban taps the composite eyepatch with a finger, two implant paths each an inch long stretch out from under it, both traveling diagonal across his face, one splitting his eyebrow and the other built into his cheekbone. "Is an easy price to pay."

"If you say so kid. I don't know how long he's known about you, or how long he was scouting you, but you look a lot different in just two years. How old are you now? Twenty-five?"

"Twenny-six."

"Ah, still a little brat then."

"Tch." The exasperation has a bite of humor to it, catching a day with his father figure was a good idea.

"And because you're just a brat, consider this my treat. I expect you to pay me back real nice now."

"Any time boss," Saban gets up first, becoming composed and a proper Accarsi as he escorts his former Boss out of the restaurant.

"I'm thinking the Ovait, how long are those waiting lists?"

"18 months boss."

"Only that?" Perrier grins as they part ways on the street, Saban remaining on the sidewalk as three atmoa arrive, unloading Accarsi. Two join Perrier in the center Atmo, the giant pressing a button to allow sound to pass through the window clearly. "Why don't you set us up reservation for your third year working for the boss direct, eh? I can taste Paradise already!" Perrier motions for the driver and the three atmos take off again to join with the traffic above the street. Saban shakes his head and huffs again, having only three months to get a reservation ready for who knows how many guests. That'll be expensive.

I'll have to get started on that after meeting with the boss tonight. Saban starts walking down the street, having no plans in mind to preoccupy him for the next twelve hours.

ZOCOM wrote:Both of the Zoconian's look at each other after Sam calls them out for not knowing much about the world around them besides their own homeland. In Felix's case it could be excused somewhat, he was a 16 year old physically who spent long periods of time training in places with little to no time impact on him. He's never really thought of getting educated on the rest of the setor, since for the most part he feels he will be dragged to these places by more outgoing people.

With Duncan, he was very much ashamed with his lack of knowledge on the matter, seeing as exploration and immersing himself in other cultures was something he was rather set on before the whole Salem debacle. That being pretty much the only reason why he cold be excused from it. "I suppose it is painfully obvious. But once things start getting stable I plan on making up for lost time."

Felix listens up to the pointers that Sam tosses his way, not that Felix wanted to get an actual robotic arm in the first place, something that he was getting more reasons to not get one with Sam's reasoning. Using metal sounded like a neat idea, but Felix realised that he won't be able to do that anytime soon seeing as he was in a Wabachan hospital. He couldn't just take a chunk of wall for his new arm without it being an immediate issue.

From the sounds of it, being a fighter of their calibre and not having some kind of regeneration must suck. A single bad hit could knock out your fighting status if it doesn't wind up with you dead. The ludicrous potential price being something that was way beyond most people's ability to pay.

"Yeah, so metal nature it is then." There was also the possibility of one of his people being potentially able to bring the lost arm back. But they would need to find a healer powerful enough to do that, regeneration magic did already exist to high level mages who pursue it. But that in itself is an issue. Since regrowing a limb from a mangled socket that has already been healed over would be bad enough, they were dealing with a body like his, something currently going through a violent sense of change. Finding a healer like that amongst the living would be very hard. Nevermind the potential cost of that too. "I won't be able to make any of my own unless I get permission to do that somewhere in Wabacha where I won't destroy anything."

Sam looks a little perplexed as Felix speaks, before making a realization. "Don't forget, you can manifest your aura itself into the nature. It requires more reserves, but since it's a solid nature it will effectively sustain itself once you create it. I mean, you could use existing metal sources, but like you said...you'd need permission from Wabacha to make sure you aren't unknowingly doing something stupid. Or you'd have to wait until we aren't in Wabacha, back at the Citadel or something. But you can make fire out of thin air, you can definitely make metal out of thin air if you start practicing metal release." Sam hesitates, looking up and to the side before looking back to Felix. "Come to think of it, do you even know metal release?"

ZOCOM wrote:Grasping the serious tone in Peppers voice, Kalla listened well to what she had to say with baited breath and his heart feeling like it was in his throat. Getting to hear her say she was sorry was somewhat bittersweet, he appreciated what she was saying but she died because of him. Something he had worked very hard to make sure doesn't happen again.

But his train of thought derailed as he heard the 5 golden words that he had spent the past year of training in the time chamber hoping to hear. Relief washing over his body in a more powerful way than any sensu healing could. A smile quickly spread across his face, his worried expression crumbling away as he started to wipe a welling tear from under his right eye.

The thought of her hating him was eating him up inside every since he first got to talk to her again after his year long training. Getting to hear that she still cared for him, had feelings for him eased his worried and distraught soul. He wanted to hug her so bad right now, but with the fate of the multiverse literally happening outside he contains himself. "I... I really needed to hear that. Haah, I feel alot better hearing that. Pepper. If, or what I really want to be when, we make it out of this I am going to make up for my failures to keep you safe. But for now, know that I care for you... And if Demigra or any of Demigra's goons try to take you from me again, there isn't a Demon dragon alive that will be able to put them back together again."

Fused Flaz watched as Aylokin joined him up in the air, smiling to himself as he feels the amazing power the both of them had while fused. He wouldn't mind getting to spare his son and his friend like this. Getting to have a match for the first time in many years would be wonderful, but for now. The sake of many universes rest on their shoulders in this moment.

Flaz didn't seem visible deterred by the dark power of Demigra's dragonballs flaring up, increasing his power. Though as mentions that Aylote's real mother won't be there to save them this time. Flaz's aura whips angrily as his smile lessens. "Unlike last time, we won't need someone to sacrifice themselves to take you down Demigra." Flaz wasn't naive, Demigra likely has some new tricks up his sleeve. But that doesn't mean that the Freiza clansman was going let his son have all the fun.

The clansmen lifted his hand into the air, dark crimson Ki quickly swirls to life and takes for form of a deathball over his lifted finger before he hurls it with such angry force towards the Demon God. In the moment he throws it, Flaz shows off the sheer speed he now had in this fused body, not even in his Golden Form yet he outpaced the deathball he hurled to appear in the demon God's face to twist round, grab hold of the Demon by his horns and throw the Demon lord over him and into his Deathball. Hoping that Speed and surprise would be enough to be a good opening offensive.

Pepper smiled knowing that Kalla still cared for her and was now determined to fight Demigra and his minions.

"Then lets don't waste any more time!" Pepper said as she began running towards the portal that led to Conton City.

---------

Demigra only smirked as he watched as Flaz sped right towards him and then throwing him into the deathball which created a bright explosion as he hit the deathball. After the explosion, Demigra appeared to have no damage on him.

"I see you have improved the last time we have met... Still your going to try a lot harder than that to make me bleed." Demigra said as he quickly turned around to see Aylokin fired a super ki attack.

The demonic deity quickly swiped the attack away from him sending it to a different direction. Demigra's dragon balls started to glow in dark energy once again as he charges at Aylokin trying to knock the fusion out, but to no avail. Thanks to the training from Goku and Vegeta, both Aylote and Erkin were able to learn their master's fighting skills with both of their skills combined. The fusion is able to hold off against Demigra until Flaz comes up with another attack.

I like it! HoWeVeR "Aeden would work his way up in his class by being a good leaner who would listen to his master well"

Top half of bio, second to last sentence.

I'm sure that leaning on any and all walls in his vicinity made Aeden quite the good student.

Oh oops I guess I didn't see that, I'll fix that soon!

Synnadine wrote:"The old hag doesn't like getting several visitors at once. Too many questions get asked."

"Then we'll just listen."

The vein on Jet's forehead splits into two more at Flaire's firm response. "Did you not just hear anything I said...?"

"We did, and we're choosing to ignore it."

"Sam will have my head if anything happened to either of you."

"So don't let anything happen to us?"

"That's easy for you to say! You've never been to that crazy place, you've only heard of it."

"Oh, stop trying to act like you've EVER been able to tell me 'no' and lets just go already."

Mere moments later the immortal quartet appears in Cataluna via a group aural warp performed by Jet, already being led by the clearly annoyed vampire as he leads them in the proper direction to the mouth of the forest several miles out of the town limits. "So...this is Cataluna, the largest settlement near the forest?" Anne meekly states, sensing a different atmosphere in the area. One of death and never-ending tension between the denizens and the all too near forest limits.

"Yes, the largest by far, but not the only one. There's small towns surrounding basically the entire forest."

Curiosity causes Saria to speak out after, asking a question that no doubt assails many peoples minds "I've always wondered, if the forest is so dangerous why do people even live this close? Shouldn't it be impossible?"

Jet stops in his tracks suddenly as the others follow suit. He thinks for a moment on how to answer that then simply looks over his shoulder to them. "Well, you'll just have to see for yourself shortly."

With that response just looks back toward and starts walking as the others all stand, confused. They all look to each other on how to interpret what Jet just said but, as Saria looks to Flaire, her sister-in-law just shrugs. "Don't know why you're looking at me."

"You girls coming or what? You all wanted me to bring you along so don't fall behind or go on ahead, keep up and don't wander!"

The unusual orders coming from Jet startles even Saria as they all immediately are back to his sides again. Could the forest really be THAT dangerous...? To have even Jet on edge like this? But before they can think on that any further an elderly man steps out in front of them to block their path, with two middle-aged men right behind him. The old man is giving them all a welcoming smile but the two middle aged men behind him seem much more...strict.

Even through the wrinkles, grey hair and short stature that no doubt was once a full foot taller before age shrank him the man seems shockingly healthy. Saria and Flaire are both caught staring at the man in disbelief as Jet simply smiles, clearly having seen him before. Anne, for her part, just looks up to Saria and Flaire confused at their expressions. She looks to the man then her mother and aunt, and back again. She starts to wave her hands in their face to get their attention but Saria calmly raises her hand, taking hold of Anne's and lowering it as if silently telling her to behave and pay attention. Still confused she looks back to the three strangers as the elderly man speaks to them. "My, oh my. Several new faces here, and one that has only been here what...once, twice?"

"This makes my third visit here."

"So twice it is, or was I suppose. Well isn't that nice." The old man exclaims as he gives them a warm smile one could only expect from a grandparent. "I suppose the four of you aren't simply passing through to a bordering nation, are you?"

Jet closes his eyes and looks down in a silent sigh, causing Anne to look even more confused but Saria and Flaire aren't breaking their focus on the old man. "No...no, I'm afraid we aren't."

"I see...well, isn't that a pity. You know-" The man's smile immediately vanishes in the blink of an eye as the corners of his mouth fall to where they are just above frowning. His eyes narrow as he stares Jet down, already having established his knowledge that Jet is familiar with the forest. "You'd think that someone who has already survived the forest twice would know how much more dangerous it becomes in groups."

"I'm well aware, but..." Jet isn't even able to finish his sentence as he backs out of completing it.

The man shifts his gaze over to Anne, noticing her demeanor and how confused she seems, a stark contrast to the other two women who are clearly capable of seeing much more than Anne is capable of. "You-" Anne stiffens a little as a result of how the others are acting towards this strange old man and swallows her saliva. "How attuned are you to the world?"

"Huh? Uh, well, I-" Anne starts to scratch her cheek and look away as she answers, unsure of how she's even supposed to see this guy. "-have really great senses. I---"

"That's not what I'm asking."

Having been immediately interrupted by the old man Anne instinctively looks down and lowers her hands, looking towards him but more at his chin because she just can't bring herself to look him in the eye. "Oh, right, you mean like magically. Uh...I...not at all, I guess?"

"Hm..." The man grunts as if he expected such an answer then shifts a side gaze immediately past Saria and to Flaire, getting right up in front of her and looking her up and down. A single bead of sweat is dripping down Flaire's temple before the man steps back a bit. "You don't think that just because you're immortal you're safe from the forest, do you?"

Genuinely caught off guard all three girls react in shock at the man's knowledge of Flaire's status as an immortal being, but Jet seems to be more informed as he doesn't react at all. "How do y---"

Flaire, similarly to Anne, is promptly cut off by the old man. "This forest doesn't care about trivial things like mortal status. The creatures here can kill an unkillable immortal just the same as they could anything else, provided they get their hands on one."

This, however...this does catch Jet's attention as he turns around and raises his voice at the old man. "Wait, what?!"

"Oh? You weren't aware of this? That's fair, being a vampire we never would've warned the likes of you since death was always a possibility for you...but it seems this woman you brought with you is special. Under any normal circumstances death would never be in her future. Unfortunately, this forest is not normal."

"That's it, no way. You three are staying here and----!"

"What, you're gonna go alone?!" Snapping out of whatever has her in a trance Flaire gets in Jets face, stepping past the old man who quite calmly just stepped aside for her to get by him. "We told you we're coming whether you like it or not. We accept the risks, and we'll be dammed if we let ourselves keep being protected like we're helpless. Are you with me?!" Flaire shouts as she turns around to Anne and Saria, who barely acknowledges Flaire at first but after collecting herself forcefully yells out

"Y-yeah....we-WE'RE GOING WITH. So stop arguing!"

Jet stares at them as sternly as he's ever been, but then the elderly man speaks up again. His more cheery smile is back as he walks back to the two men he stepped out with "Of course you're all free to go in together, it's not our job to keep people from entering the forest...in relation to that our only duty is to guide people in regards to the forest. Nothing more. I have made sure you are aware of this risks, so our duty is complete. Do as you will." The trio of strangers walk away as the girls all follow him with their eyes, Jet only glancing as he looks to his group. It seems the last words too the winds out of whatever Jet was about to say and he simply sighs again.

At that moment Saria and Flaire's knees both buckle as they fall to them, Anne immediately rushing to worry for them. "Whoa hey, are you two okay?! What's up, you've been weird ever since that guy---"

"Jet-" Saria calls out. Jet quietly looks to Saria as she looks to Jet with an expression of dread and fear combined. Anne, who was getting ready to check her, notices both of them are shaking uncontrollably and steps away. "What. The Hell. Was that."

Jet looks over to the old man as he walks away as Flaire just keeps her eyes locked to the ground, but the seemingly unaware Anne just looks up to Jet herself as well. "Well...he's the mayor, I guess."

"What...?" Flaire quietly mumbles. "The...mayor." Flaire suddenly snaps her head up, lashing out almost like a scared animal. "How can you even refer to a monster like that as if they're human?!"

"Because he is."

Again Flaire and Saria are struck with pure shock as Anne just looks to both of them, then Jet. "Look, I have no idea what's going on right now, but that man was able to get you to act like you were under him just by standing there. And those two couldn't take their eyes off him, you'd think they were staring at a god or som---"

"No, Anne..." Anne gets cut off by Saria who just looks down, reflecting on what just happened. The look on her face is that of sheer defeat, as is the face of Flaire. "That man was beyond the Gods...he was just..."

"Hey, just try to breathe okay...? I'm---" Anne starts to reach out to try and help Saria calm down but Jet stops her hand and draws her attention to him, away from Saria and Flaire.

"They'll be okay, they just need a few minutes for his magic to wear off."

"His magic?"

Jet simply nods as he explains a bit. "It's some sort of intimidation spell he uses, it forces his magic presence to overwhelm targets weaker than him and essentially make them experience paralyzing fear. The trick is it only works on those who can sense the more mystical side of the world...aka, you were immune. That old man does it to make people think twice about entering the forest, to discourage people from throwing their lives away. Since most people who would dare come through here are sensitive to magic and magical energies it's generally pretty successful, and he goes out of his way to try to intercept everyone that comes through here. You were just an odd one out, but count yourself lucky."

As Anne processes what Jet told her she starts to respond with some slight hope, born from the doubt she is harboring. "But...you were fine too, right? You didn't seem bothered by his scare magic or whatever so that means he can't be that much stronger than...you...?"

Anne hesitates as she feels a sudden, momentary tremble in Jet's grip over her hand. She had been so focused on Jet's explanation prior she hadn't noticed it. "No....I just already experienced it twice before is all." With a reassuring smile Jet releases Anne and turns, staring off to the distant forest over the horizon. "Once they collect themselves we can get moving...they managed to vocalize that they weren't backing down even while in the middle of the old man's spell, so it's safe to say they won't be changing their minds once the residual effects die down."

It was how he and Duncan made the Hades nature afterall.

"Samantha showed me how but she can do way more with it than I can. I... I didn't remember the part about making it from your reserves." Felix rubs the back of his neck as he looked to the side. "Making fire from nothing is pretty much second nature to me, but the idea of doing that with metal still hasn't wrapped around my head yet. Though she always trains like crazy. I mean, she was always kinda like that because of Vengeance. But after she went to see the Zoconian princess she started training on another level. I'm pretty sure I'm the most durable 16 year old in the sector because of it."

"You were already the most durable 16 year old before the amount of wholloping Saffy gave you" Duncan interrupts, though his brother let the rest of that bar one word go over his head.

"W h o ?"

Duncan quickly realises he that made a mistake. Samantha may kill him for this. But it was pretty much out of the bag, and Felix was gonna connect the dots fast enough if he denied it. "Well... That was the nickname our mother gave Samantha."
