Quick question, is someone allowed to run for two governmental positions in the same elections? I'm pretty sure Kogi ran for shaman/ChatGPT ran for shaman so I wondering whether they are allowed to run for scribe now...

Have a great day...

Lewayin wrote:While there’s 20 minutes left in the day, I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Easter! My wife and I attended mass today and I have never seen the church so full of people. We got there early and the chapel was already full, as well as the overflow area. People were standing in the lobby to watch and that was also full so they put us in a social gathering hall and streamed the service on a television.

I hope everyone (who celebrates Easter) enjoyed the long weekend and was able to spend it family. This was a special occasion for us as my wife and I were confirmed in the Catholic Church last Easter.

Kind of random, but what triggered your conversion to Catholicism?

Novanuki wrote:Kind of random, but what triggered your conversion to Catholicism?

Well I have always been “half catholic” so to speak. My dads side of the family are all catholic and my moms side southern Baptist. For a brief time my family would attend a Catholic mass one Sunday and a Baptist service the next. After a little while of that we moved and in our new town attended a Methodist church, I guess because it was sort of in between the two. When I was an eighth grader my parents asked if I would rather go through Catholic confirmation or confirmation in my Methodist church. At that point I hadn’t attended a Catholic Church in several years and remembered mass as being long and boring. Between that and the fact I had lots of friends at the Methodist church so I chose them. I was a happy Methodist for well over a decade but I am a history geek and the more I looked into the early church and the history of Christianity the less and less sense Protestantism made to me. For instance I had always heard the Catholic Church added books to the Bible to suit their narrative, when in reality the Catholic Church composed the Bible in 393, and Luther removed those 7 books to suit his own narrative 1200 years later! Around the time I was questioning my Methodist identity my friends dad died, at the time my friend was agnostic (he was confirmed in the Catholic church 2 days ago at the Easter Vigil!) but had been raised by a Catholic family and I went to his dad’s funeral mass. Something about that service just felt real to me in a way that no Protestant service I had ever been to felt. While I couldn’t partake in communion at the time, I actually felt the real presence there in the Eucharist. This funeral took place at the very beginning of 2020 and I attended a mass on my own the week after, however the following week my city ordered all churches to stop gathering in my area and they all went to live stream only. For the next 2 years I sort of went back and forth between converting to Catholicism and Orthodoxy, as my city had a Catholic Church and a Greek Orthodox Church and I still was a little anti-papist from my Baptist days. After a while of watching online services from both churches I started attending the Catholic Church again in early 2022 and September of that year I asked my fiancée (now wife) to attend RCIA with me. The city I lived has a pretty big university and the RCIA class was taught by a history professor from the university and it was such a wonderful experience for us. My confirmation class was full of life long Protestants who all came home to the catholic church, including a woman in her 70s who had been Lutheran all her life.

tl;dr

“To Be Deep in History Is to Cease to Be Protestant.” - Cardinal John Henry Newman

I forgot to mention it but the main reason I went catholic over orthodox was simply because my ancestors were catholic. The first of my ancestors to come to America in 1848 was a catholic and worked as a stonemason building Catholic Churches in Pennsylvania. It felt like I was abandoning my ancestral heritage to become orthodox simply because I didn’t like the Pope.

I said read and understand it, not copy and paste the damn thing. Article 10 stated the Job Description, giving you some knowledge and understanding about the position, then afterwards you make a campaign with you visions and missions after knowing what the Scribe do

If there was a misunderstanding i apologies, but i didn't expect it to be this much

Not plagiarize and write something original

but i still wont give up
and yes i will still participate

Weren’t those books written after the Old Testament yet not part of the New Testament?

For my Scribe campaign I have one thing, I will try to have a RP event. I say try because if I can’t come up with any good ideas then I won’t force a bad event.

I'll make my scribe campaign probably today, but i wouldn't put alot of effort in making it xd. For a heads up, i won't be using a dispatch and make a poster because i only have 1-2 days before elections, so I'll just use the RMB

Salam citizens of the Order! I am Al-Zuweeiyah, former 7th Tribunal Shaman and previous 8th Tribunal Mage, Sage and Regional delegate! I am at this point in time campaigning for the Scribe office of the Tribunal, and with this campaign i wish to persuade you citizens to use your right to vote in the elections by voting me!

Disclaimer: I will not make any promises, if i don't fulfill any of my promises the people won't trust or believe me. But i will make goals and try to fulfill them

Before i start, it is better to say Bismillah.

I've make 6 points regarding my offering if elected. Firstly, my Visions and Missions:

  • Vision: “Becoming a region of culture”

  • Mission: “To continuously preserve and espire the culture of the Order where Creativity, Activity, and Tradition (CAT) flourishes!"

These 6 points I'll showcase should show you my mission for the order as Scribe

  1. Firstly on my Agenda, I'll actively engage in the roleplay to inspire and persuade non-rp members to participate in the roleplay

  2. I will showcase the contributions of the community by continuing the highlighting of top RMB comments and hold OOC special events, also recognizing the talents of our citizens in Dispatch/factbook making by pinning for a short time under the WFE.

  3. I will create a Scribe advisory Council that consists of the most detailed roleplayers to advised me in organizing special RP events and facilitate them in certain times.

  4. If needed, I'll be more active in settling IC border disputes

  5. as said by NNN, the Tribunal created by Comrade Maktaria is the finest news this region had to offer, with that I'll continue Maktaria's legacy in writing The Tribunal

  6. and Lastly I'll actively lead the region on Official NationStates events aligning with the best interest of the order, such as Z-day, N-day, and other NS Events.

That is all that i currently have to offer to you all, thank you. And following Nisyales:
A Big hug from your friend Al-Zuweeiyah

looks like the election is beggining tommorow good luck guys

Even though I'm no longer Sage, my duties as election commissioner has not yet completed, I'll still remind the nations mentioned here that the Scribe elections is beginning tomorrow (3rd of April). It is advised to create a campaign for your ideas if elected, your campaigns will be added to the campaign list

This is a dispatch compiling the campaigns of several Tribunal candidates. Victors of the polls will also be shared here.

Maktaria wrote:It's election month! As such, I will be campaigning for a re-election as Scribe. Campaign goals include:

    > Basically RP Events at a much smaller scale to change up the RP's status quo without doing anything apocalyptic.
    * More game nights (Movie nights, video games, online board games, etc)
    > I am aware that there were very few game nights these past months. This is largely due to unavailability and time blindness on my part. If elected again, I will make sure to be significantly more active than last time.

Overall, I will dedicate myself to making the RP, as well as the region on a larger scale, a much livelier place. I hope to serve you all to the best of my abilities.

I've been putting this off for a while but here's my scribe campaign for the ninth term...

If I was to be elected I would:

Continue The Tribunal newspaper as I believe it is a great addition and I have a few ideas for how to add to it...

Re-Introduce the storytelling competition once again. It was another great addition so I believe it should be held more often. I intend to hold it in both the first and last months of the term with a different theme - as decided by the community...

Introduce a daily trivia competition which I will explain more about at a later date... I plan for there to be an overall leaderboard where correct answers shall be logged. The person with the most points at the end of the term shall win a legendary!

Introduce a monthly larger quiz which again will be explained more at a later date... This would be comprised of 20 or so questions (varying in degrees of difficulty) in a dispatch and the person who gets the most correct answers will again win a legendary...

Host monthly game nights through discord to boost activity on there. These game nights could range from any game of your choosing to a kahoot quiz!

A Question of the Day to get to find out more about each other's quirks and personalities...

An outreach program to other regions to build embassies... Any member of the community can suggest regions to set up an embassy with and a poll will be conducted to gather a census on whether or not we should form an embassy there. I already have a few ideas of regions for embassies...

An ambassador program for which a suitable deputy will be appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs. This minister would focus on building up relations with our new allied regions and making our citizens aware of foreign events and goings on. If the minister so wishes, they can look to appoint an ambassador to a region who shall endeavour to advertise our events to their citizens...

Most of all, I would look to engage our community and everyone to have fun...

    Have a great day...

    Nation nationalised nationally wrote:

    FYI - regarding RP events...

Although I haven't got any concrete plans for specific events, I would be looking to set up at least 3 worldwide RP events during my term.

These events could be something like:

A deadly virus outbreak (think like COVID or
    something like that)

    Incoming asteroids from outer space
(perhaps linking up with the space rp)

Climate change and global warming getting
too much to handle and trying to co-
    ordinate an international response

They are just some ideas and I would look to build on them...

    Have a great day...
