Uhhhhhhhggggggg I've come back finally lol :P I've been so drained lately cause of being on the range and getting back from my deployment I haven't really had a chance or drive to really post anything for a bit but I'm back.
Words after a long silence
With many different thing happening and occurring around the world the duke has been bogged down with matters of internal affairs of the state and family. Good news from the family as a new addition has been born another son named Thelomar. But the integer noble house within Patagonia have been arguing as to which way the government should place more funds to whether it's towards the military and build up significantly, even though the military has continued to grow quite significantly, or put the funding towards the infrastructure and development of th civil sectors. Now the duke has finally come to a discussion. With quiet talks being conducted with the president of the U.S. and the Keizer of Germany (OOC. and yes they confirm) more funds will be put towards the military, but will keep it relatively balanced with civil sector funding, with purchasing new warships from America to bolster the navy and production of similar size and design will come to the fleets, and with a few of German military advisors to help bolster the training of the army. In addition forces will be moved closer to the Peruvian border only to keep the Peruvian revels in check and to keep them from thinking of sneaking into Patagonia, if they thought of trying. In other news soccer has become a sport of craze among the populus and a tournament is expected to take place soon. With this new craze coming about it should have quite a positive impact on the economy. Development of the states produce and general infrastructure and growth has continued without issue.

General Elections
The results of this years general elections have come in and appears Prime Minister Sun Yat-sen will remain in office as his National Solidarity Party won 243 seats just 7 seats short of a 50% majority, the United Democratic Party took a loss this year winning 125 seats they are still the second largest party however. The Reform Party got a huge boost this year winning 120 seats as opposed to the 56 they held last year. The Nation front took the largest hit losing all but 12 of their seats in Parliament.

CALL TO ARMS TO ALL CATHOLICS! FORMATION OF THE ORDER OF GOD!
In an unprecedented move, Pope Gregorius XVII and the College of Cardinals have called upon a new order of knights in Rome as the Pope announced his new years speech on the eve of the 20th Century. Citing the recent turmoil and calamity in the world, the Pope announced a global call to arms to all christians to rise up and take matter onto their own hands in halting the evil forces of Communism, Hedonism and heretical oppression. The pope announced:
"It's time my fellow brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, that Rome must act upon itself in these dark times. I fear many catastrophes that we will suffer in this world; but we will endure! as followers of Christ, we uphold the sacred duty of the word of God and I, the divine chosen by his grace, will lead the flock to a better path, this world to a rightful path, where we no longer shall fear under the boot of totalitarianists but frolick upon the fields of justice watched under by the almighty Lord! Where we no longer shall fear for Lucifer's men, in the east, wearing the color of the devil and spreading its wicked tongue of Socialism! The Pope has announced in a follow-up that the Knights of St. John, Knights of Malta, and the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre will be merged into a formal organization under the Pope as it's Grand Captain; the new military order will be called the Holy Order of the Sacred Knights of the Almighty Father and Above or shortened as the Order of God or Ordo Deus. Representatives of the Holy See have refused to comment on the creation of the Order of God, although rumors have circulated it's use is for the creation of a international Catholic army, some 10,000 were expected to have joined during it's first rounds of recruitment; although its purpose is still unknown.
Ah the turn of the century. America's in a naval arms race with just about everyone, Poland is getting invaded, the sabers are rattiling in South America, the Pope is arming, china is still china, and best of all, we haven't even gotten to the Great War yet.

In the wake of the great Maltese victory in the Middle East, and the sad departure of our beloved Queen Irene, her widower, Prince Ludwig has been cornated as King Of Malta and it's overseas territories.
In a rousing address to his subjects, King Ludwig Schäfer has promised to further industrialize Malta and it's colonies as well as cement the nation upon the world stage with special attention being paid to art, literature, sport and music. "Malta shall be the jewel of the Mediterranean." He is quoted as saying.
Whilst the new king has shown enthusism for the arts, he has shown as much, if not more enthusism in the relm of warfare and in the defense of the empire. He has recently greenlighted plans to build complex fortifications and defenses along the boarder of the colony of Palestine to keep any possible Arab offensive at bay. The nation of Arrstotzka has been generous enough to lend a good 1,000 men to help in the construction. The King has also expressed great interest in the area of airship warfare, and the possibility of producing, "A League Of Extrodinary Gentlemen." Whatever that means.
And as decreed by the King, a new banner for the Maltese Empire has been adopted. One that, "Evokes Maltese pride and strength."
In other news, the Paxton arms company has recently bought up a good chunk of land in Syria, which they may build arms in their own privately built facilities. This is done in hopes of breaking into the Sryian Arms industry which has been lacking in diversity for many years.
Some Maltese gentlemen have developed a rather odd business plan. They saw the amount of sand in the Malta's colonial holdings and thought, "Sand. What does sand make? Glass!" Because of this discovery, and the worldwide popularity for Glass, it seems as if every businessman and their mothers are flocking to the desert to indulge in the glass industry. Good luck chaps.
Shortly Before The Maltese Invasion Of Arabia
"Come quickly gentlemen!" Ludwig cried, bursting in the room filled with rather official looking men, some looking like monkey in suits, others looking like monkeys in uniform. "What happened?" One fashionably dressed lad inquired, springing out of his cushioned seat. "Did she pass?" A rugged man in uniform asked, very much completing the first man's question for him. "No! She has awoke!" Ludwig explained, all of the men, about seven or so, were then ushered into the Queen's chambers; where they were meant by a most depressing scene. Queen Irene, coughing, weazing and simply looking rather daft upon her queen sized bed.
The men followed Ludwig to her bed side, there, Ludwig knelt beside his wife. "Love, I-I know you're in a fragile state," Ludwig stammered, grasping her cold, weak hands, "B-but I've been p-preparing a measly conflict with the Arabs for about a year now... and I need your permission to do it." The men behind him all nodded sheepishly, feeling a bit bad for asking such a thing from such a sick woman.
The Queen couldn't process words, let alone speak them. She was weak, and into the last stages of Tuberculosis. After a minuete or so of silence, Ludwig stood up and faced the group, "No answer..." He said in somber disappointment. He ran his hands from his hairline to his jawline, "God damn it. All the planning, time and preparation... Only to be foiled."
"If I may be of service," said a lone tall grey figure with a sunken in face that gave him a rather skeletal appearance, "I am a registered docter!" He said awkwardly, shuffling his way through the men, "She is suffering from advanced TB and cannot find the words to talk. Now lads," he said confidently, "The only way to cure her of her lose of words is to beat her until she must speak! Just watch!"
He proceeded to approach her side, lift her up, but set her down and apply gloves; He then lifted her up again and began violently slapping her across the face. "Oh my god!" One of the others let out, "You're a bloody genius!" As he kept slapping her, the skeletal man turned to Ludwig and gang and laughed, "She's gonna need more convincing, everyone! Grab something!"
Everyone was in a scramble to find a blunt object, everyone except Ludwig who calmly sat in the corner, smoking a cigar and drinking brandy. "If she dies, she dies..." He thought between puffs and swigs. Soon there was a line of seven men all awaiting their turn to beat on the Queen, weapons included a cane, club, a bat, pugilism gloves, a wrench, a pistol and a dead chicken. They just kept beating the stuffing out of the Queen until she coughed on one of them, causing him to panic and jump of the balcony.
The skeletal man began pushing men away, "Alright boys I think she's had enough." He turned to Ludwig, who by now was doozing off, "My Prince, I believe she's ready to spill the beans!" Ludwig smiled, "Is that so." He said sarcastically, "I'd surely be talking if you beat my brains in!" The men laughed and Ludwig knelt beside the Queen and grasped her hands, "Love, tell me, can Malta into Arabia?"
The Queen only sat there in a half conscious state for a solid minute. Leaving everyone waiting on something, anything to come out of her mouth. In the end, her eyes rolled back in her head and she fell back into a deep sleep, either that or she died. But not before mummbling something that sounded vaugly similar to, "No."
Ludwig slowly got off his knees and stood back up, dislodging his hands from her's. He sighed a sigh reminiscent of the one he out earlier and turned around to the gentlemen, all looking quite sad about the situation, including the skeletal man who seemed to look the most hurt about the occasion.
"Well men..." Ludwig spoke in somber disappointment, "SOUNDED LIKE A YES TO ME!" He blurted out, and the men rejoiced.

First Workers Congress
- In what seems to be some of the first action that Flecatya's government has seen in some time, representatives from Flecatya's myriad socialist groups have convened under the banner of the Socialist Party of Flecatya, and are hosting the First Workers Congress in Riga. While Centralist victory in the selection of a government was once seen as a certainty, the threat posed by an international intervention has brought many partisan leaders under the wing of the Agrarians, who promise a protracted "People's War" where the entire proletariat is mobilized to defend the revolution, in contrast to the more conventional warfare strategy of the Centralists. With enemies seeming to appear on all sides, along with the pressing need to bring about an organized government, a short, nasty, and brutal convention is to be expected.

"Are you sure this is the best course of action your Holiness." the cardinal spoke as his words echo through St. Peter's Basilica, echoing the uncertainty of the College's decision. His Holiness, rose from Chair of St. Peter, and raised his hand, at which all were silent.
"The will of god is certain; to question his decision is to test faith in the Almighty Father." the Pope spoke softly, yet his words weighed the lives of thousands in Italy. The cardinals whispered once more, expressing their surprise at the confidence of the divine figure. The Pope returned to his original posture, wielding the papal ferula on one hand and his head on another.
"Your Holiness, the people will not receive this well; the College of the Serene will surely oppose this decision." Another cardinal spoke out, "The shedding of Roman blood is not what-"
"The College of the Serene will agree. Those hedons placed me in power, and in return they will remain in their villas and castles with full stomachs and another course to go; they do not care for lives unless their's is at stake." The Pope interrupted, echoing once more with a more pompous tone.
"The wealth of Venezia is what this council desires, it's what the Holy See desires, and by the eternal judgement of god, I shall bring it." The Pope said once more, this time there was no murmurs to be heard, silence reigns supreme under the basilica as the divine authority of the Bishop of Rome; the cardinals themselves were placed in a position of great turmoil, the man they controlled now controls them.
"By the order of Christ and the grace of his Almighty Father, I, the Bishop of Rome, Pontifex Maximus of the Roman Church, Supreme Father of the Roman People, Divinely Chosen; declare everlasting mercy and forgiveness to the people of Venice, as we declare war!"
The words were uttered, the papal ferula struck the floor three times as the bells of war ring in the basilica.
At immediate response via telegram, Roman divisions of 50,000 were deployed to the northern Border in the Duchy of Tuscany. The Duke of Tuscany himself was said to lead the army with his personal cavalry. In lieu of the rise of Communist forces in the far reaches of Poland the Prime Minister has made this announcement "The red threat that for so many years has fought the forces of good in our world and it is such that we, the Empire of Japan, must denounce the threats that besiege us in our modern times. In other news the Japanese fleet off the coast of the American controlled Sunda straights has under orders of the Crown Prince begun moving northward toward the port region of Kuwait in Arabia. What his plans are he refused to say, but some analysts believe he is headed with a trade envoy judging from the large quantities of ships and soldiers he is bringing with him, a task fleet of 200 ships (naval and air) with 10,000 troops and a following group of equal proportions. What interesting news ladies and gentlemen.
And for our final top story tonight the minister of Scientific Affairs has reported that we have discovered a new element on the periodic table! He is referring to it as Radium. I have a bottle of the stuff right here with me folks and it sure is some remarkable stuff. It glows a nice bluish colour and what's this... I can taste colours all of a sudden! Western Troubles
News has clearly spread far and wide from Flecatya that the Workers finally have broken their chains and deposed their Monarch, like we have a hundred years ago. Since then the Council and General Secretary Karzhov Boris have been behind close doors within the Presidium Hall, debating on how the Federation must act. Word has spread that the Germans are moving in to interfere with the Flecatyian Revolution to bring back the chaos of their Monarchy. After much debate and consideration over the German demand to remain out of Flecatyian affairs, the Council have came to the conclusion...to assist the Flecatyians, The 6th through 8th Red Army groups totaling 300k will be sent to aid the Flecaytians with any other available units being sent to Ukraine and Kiev to react to any provakation from the Germans on that end. They won't be sent to the Border yet. Airship divisions 1 and 2 the largest divisions we have will be put on stand by in both the regions of Kiev and Carsongrad with the flagship Siberia leading the first Airship division.
All Towns and Villages near the Western border are being prepped for both evacuation and entrenchment, Karzhov quoted Charlotte Yamonova, former General Secretary "We won't be caught with our pants down if war is to come" an additional Recruitment drive and training faculties are being prepped as well. The navy in the Baltic has orders not to engage in a direct confrontation with the German Navy and to prepare to only redirect merchant ships if the time comes. Diplomatic outreaches

Taking a much needed holiday
Doctor Marko Venkavich, renowned for his work on the Motor Vehicle project works away in his workshop in Yamonova with his team. the day was long and problems still arose the Pistons and getting them to work efficiently. Marko has been working on the plan for about two weeks now, sweating over the Blueprints covered in scribble marks and doodles "Marko, you've been overlooking those plans for a fortnight now and we're still not scratching the surface of this problem" Marko's colleague told him with concern "I'm close, I can feel it, I am close to figuring out this problem I just nee..." "No you're not, take a break, the project will still be in the workshop, we all need much needed breaks and some R&R and then when you come back you'll have a fresh perspective on the project to get this done. you done enough for this project."

Marko stands at the dock awaiting the next boat to take him to California, The boat slowly comes into port, the huge vessel bellows its horn has lines itself up with the dock, sailors throwing robes to the crew of the dock. a large staircase is then pushed and aligned to the docking area of the ship. A happy people
Soon after the 10 year plan was announced citizens of Venezuela rejoiced in the streets cheering due to the government actually helping the people and bringing the nation into the modern age. As reception was near perfect people quickly lined up to help making the start of the 10 year plan good enough to be considered a success. (99 for reception and I believe 71 for its start)
The first bill
As the plan began the new Federalist government sent out a series of bills to the nation’s that have been stationing ships in their ports for sometime. The bills list things such as the cost of resupply, stationing, labor, and time spent at port. This has just been the first step to the 10 year plan.
Letters to the neighbors
Multiple well written letters have been sent to the other South American nations as well as Mexico requesting a meeting of diplomats and minds to help further each nation’s respective power. This is one of the major key points made for the 10 year plan.
Beginning of modernization
Factories, hospitals, public services, and the military have started being modernized and upgraded to new standards. A new law has also been passed acquiring businesses to have safe environments for workers to reduce risk of injury and or death. Laws have been passed in the food industry in order to bring in safe preparation practices and storing practices using the new Scandinavian refrigerators. Due to the modernization effort trade orders from both America and Germany have been made to modernize our equipment in both civilian and military infrastructure.
A new research into a new uniform
Research has been funded to begin research of a new uniform. This uniform will have advanced camouflage patterns to better fit in the jungle and other parts of our territories. The VMRD has sent a coded message to both the Japanese and Scandinavians for help in designing this uniform.

Coup!
Inspired by the teachings of Gravonism, General Adonis Gandhi, leader of the I Army Corps, has rallied the Empire's military, and has overthrown the elderly Emperor Demetrius II. While the whereabouts of the former Emperor are unknown, his fate is likely a grim one. Gandhi has already proclaimed himself as the "Lord Protector" of New Makedon, and has set forth a list of changes, which he says will take effect immediately. The changes are as follows:
I. The Imperial Senate is to be abolished.
II. All foreign aid and relations shall cease. Exceptions will be made for 
Arrstotzka and 
Velstado.
III. The Afghan Railroad Authority will remain as is.
IV. New Makedon will completely abstain from all foreign conflicts, both major and minor, indefinitely.
V. The colony of Barbaros will be evaluated, and then sold off.
VI. New Makedon shall not except visitors or travelers of any kind. Exceptions will be made with government approval.

Piura Free
The Rebel City of Piura has fallen to Coalition forces. After 3 weeks of battle, the city was wrestled from rebel control and Carsonist forces were forced to scatter and retreat. While this victory is a grand one, the damages done to the city are breathtaking. Nearly 75% of all buildings in the city where destroyed by the battle, some by the street to street fighting, many by the "Torch and burn" tactics using in the Carsonist retreat. Even in the destruction, however, soldiers and civilians still sung song and launched fireworks to celebrate the end of the battle, and the soon to come end of the war.

Ashes to Ashes
Yesterday Imperial airships conducted a massive raid on the Carsonist capital of Quito, while Navy vessels shot rounds at key rebel outposts and bases near the ports of Guayaquil and Manta. The 2 attacks have even further decimated the capabilities and moral of the enemy and Imperial troops are no moving up the coast unopposed. With the bombings of the three cities and the fall of the rebel city Piura, the Carsonist forces are expected to not last much longer, already division lines have begun forming in their ranks as the fighting spirit of the rebel's is lost.
Freedom Ever More!
Today the Imperial Congress, along with democratic legislators, passed the Politico Act. This law restricts the power of the Emperor by removing the need for the Emperor's approval to pass state level legislation. This is seen as a step in the right by direction my many, as it gives more liberty to the states of the soon-to-be Republic of Peru.

Production on what has now been dubbed, "The Schäfer Line," has been going on for months now and has made great progress already. The hard workers have been at work on the line of fortifications and defenses along the Palestinian-Arab boarder, ensuring that the forts and defensive positions are at the very most effective and deadly against any possible enemy offensive in the future.
Some of these defenses include artillery positions, crow's nest, machine gun nest, barbed wire fencing, and networks of trenches. In the future, once the Maltese flamethrower designs begin full production, a string of flame thrower postions shall be applied as well.
MARE CHRISTUS! THE HOLY NAVY ORDER MASS UPGRADING
Following the doctrinal approach of 'Christ's Sea', the Holy Navy of the Roman Federation have begun upgrading and re-structuring it's naval command with numerous changes in authority and chain-of-command. The new reforms brought by Admiral di Revel, granted honorary title Duke of the Sea, would see the end of a hereditary system for the ships' command and instead direct appointment from the Grand Admiral along with the formation of one unitary fleet under control of numerous naval officers, chosen by their own merit from their superiors, not by nobles. This centralized authority would be in charge of all of the navy, instead of a independent command structure by the Nobles' own chosen men.
Furthermore, the Naval Mass Improvement Bill of 1900 was approved by the College of the Serene with the Pope unofficially supporting it. The Bill would see into effect nearly half of the Holy Navy's ships to be repaired and upgraded to increase it's tonnage and efficiency after nearly a decade of its initial maiden voyages. Lighter ships such as Destroyers would be equipped with experimental impulse turbines after it's first use in 1890s and it's increased size will allow Roman destroyers to hold large amounts of torpedoes, unlike it's current state which was designed for more guns. Roman Battleships will be repaired and fitted with refrigeration systems for safety. The lately-designed Regina Elena-class battleship is halfway done for it's first prototype and it's expected to see a test run with the Pope on the shores of Napoli in early October 1900. A total of 5 Battleships, 6 Armored Cruisers and 8 Destroyers will be refurbished and modernized in the next 2-3 years, while the Ironclads of the Holy Navy will be converted into Destroyers in the meantime.
Furthermore, a total of 1.2 Billion Scudoes or $800,000,000 (1960 Dollars) will be invested in the naval force for the contruction of 2 more modern battleships, 9 more Armored Cruisers and 10 Destroyers will be contracted by Benetti Shipbuilding, Franco Tosi Meccanica, Gio. Ansaldo & C. and 30 other associates in the shipyards of Ancona, Roma, Palermo, Napoli, Pisa and Livorno.
End of the First Workers Congress
The nightmare has begun.
In a narrow vote of 13-12, the First Workers Congress has concluded in favor of the Agrarian faction of the Socialist Party of Flecatya. The bookish socialist and occultist Juozapas Plieninis has been elected as General Secretary, and with the position comes de facto control over Flecatya and its people. Plieninis has already begun to implement his dark vision for Flecatya, as Ryga, Karaliaučiaus and other cities are forcibly cleared of their inhabitants for rustification, a plan to create a Flecatyan nation of Lithuanian warrior-peasants. Rumors persist of Slavs and Jews being brought into People's Foundries deep in the countryside, where they are used as slave labor in the name of the Revolution. Perhaps worst of all, students as young as ten are being conscripted en masse to serve in the Intermarian Liberation Army, the pseudonym for a massive army of militiamen armed with shotguns and rifles. While the General Secretary promises that the ILA will be disbanded once the state of emergency ends, many Flecatyans doubt that the new socialist nation can manage to survive the coming tides of war.

Originally, our intention was to provide support for our comrades in Poland, but in the light of most recent developments, such a scheme is out of the question. I have discussed with the Admiral of the Fleet and Marshal of the Army, who both agreed that we must remain neutral, but it would be wise to prepare for a major international conflict, as the sparking of one seems more likely day by day. "Mr speaker, members of the Parliament. It seems that Mr Ellis and Mr McCrae have forgotten the question of security of supply. It is an undeniable fact that if we wish to maintain huge portions of our most fertile farmland as sheep pasture, it is impossible to feed the 37 million people on this island without steady imports. Nearly half of our food comes from overseas, mainly France and the Pampas. If a war were to break out, these supply routes would be the first targets for the enemy. It is incredibly easy for any major naval power, especially one with submarines, to cause a famine in Britain. For this very reason, we must advocate for peace and refrain from mobilizing our army."
"If I may just quickly say... please. Hmh. If I may just quickly say, the mobilization of our army could hardly be mistaken for an aggressive move. We have no ships suitable for naval invasions. The two Colossus-class battleships and the ten Monmouth-class cruisers have been designed specifically to protect cargo ships. I assure you, Mr Bergström, there is no need for concern, although I personally agree that more farmland should be devoted to soybeans and less to sheep. And Mr McCrae, there is no point in discussing an intervention at this point. This motion concerns mobilization for defensive reasons, and defensive reasons only. The question of a Scottish coast guard was discussed briefly while drafting the motion, but we didn't find it necessary to include in this particular, eh, context. However, I promise you that this is something we take very seriously and intend to implement in the near future. Thank you."
