They plan on setting out before the end of the month and when or if they are successful im sure people from around the world will visit to be able to see the achievement they made, whether its for just regular tourism or the building of an additional world research institute. We will have to see.

Party Congress – March 10th, 1955

The 1955 Party Congress could be summarised in one word “continuity”. Spectators familiar with the inner workings of the CPCK have told us that an agreement seems to have been reached by those at the top to keep the current composition of the Politburo Standing Committee and the Politburo, By preventing any of the three factions (Conservatives, Reformers, and the Moderates) from changing their standing for the time being. Chen Yun as the leader of the moderates will continue as general secretary and State Chairman.

National People’s Congress – March 15th, 1955

This year’s National People’s Congress was used as a forum to highlight the government’s plans for the next five years. Government ministers and military leaders gave reports on the development of their specific departments. But the highlight of the Congress that meets once a year was the closing speech by State Chairman Chen Yun In which he covered several topics including the economy military and SRCK’s place in the world. We will be playing highlights of that speech for this broadcast.
    The Economy:
“We should step up our efforts and take more concrete measures in deepening reform and strengthening our self-reliance and the internal economy in the face of Imperialist threats. We should put into action the new development concepts and pursue high-quality growth of our economy. We should build a modern socialist market economy and continue to strengthen our economic might, technological prowess, and comprehensive strength of the nation So that the vigor of the socialist market economy can be fully unleashed.
    Occupied Territories:
We should safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and achieve unification of the motherland. This is the aspiration of all Chinese people. This is also in the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation.
    Separatism:
Faced with this very important question of our nation and history, any action that aims to separate the country is doomed to fail. Any separatist actions will be met with the condemnation of the people and the punishment of history! The Chinese people have a strong determination, full confidence, and every capability to triumph over all separatist actions. The Chinese people and the Chinese nation have a shared conviction, which not a single inch of our land will be, and can be, ceded from the motherland.
The SRCK’s place in the world:
The aspiration of the Chinese people is sincere. and we'll by no means seek development at the expense of other countries’ interests. Our development poses no threats to other countries. We will never seek hegemony and expansionism. Only those who are given to threatening other people will perceive others as a threat.
    Carsonist Party-People relationship:
The CPCK Is the Supreme leadership of the country. And it's also the fundamental guarantee of achieving the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The CPCK holds ultimate leadership over every aspect of our social and political life. All political parties, communities, Ethnicities, classes, and people from all walks of life Should rally closely around the CPCK.

(See Above) The new flag of the Union

Unification, the Birth of Jagiellonia!
At early dawn this bright Summer morning, the once divided and pale states of the Balkans vanished for the last time, to be born anew as a greater union, a fraternity bound between the common brethren and cultures who have given so much and fought so bravely together in the defence of civilisation itself. From the ancient triumphs over the Ottoman Turks, to the valiant battles fought side by side to the bitter end against the German menace - our union is bound in the ages, a mutual accord of strength, honour and courage.

Jagiellonia, the name chosen for our new union. A word which summons up the noble age of knights, kings and dynasties - shall become a mark of unity between our common peoples, and a return to the rightful integrity of the Eastern lands. Where once our territories were one under the triumphant red and blue banner of Vladislaus some five hundred years ago, today and henceforth for all eternity they shall be one again.

This pivotal moment, in the course of our shared histories, is the culmination of some four years of arduous work and ever growing affinities. The Constanta Agreement of 1950, between Palatine László Bárdossy of Hungary, Manjat Kostaq Kotta of former “Albania”, Vodach Petar Gabrovski of former “Bulgaria”, and Conducator Horia Sima of former “Rumania”, and its declarations therein heralded the beginning of the path to this most hallowed present moment. The referenda which followed, approved by some 87% in Bulgaria, 89% in Rumania, and 79% in Albania, yet further enshrined this path to today’s mutual unity. Few other nations can draw such strength from this common origin, historic legacy, and most of all legitimate will of the peoples and their leaders.

The Jagiellonian Union henceforth heralds a new age of prosperity, strength and stability for our brethren peoples. No longer shall we be “Illyrians”, “Rumanians”, Magyars, “Bulgars” or “Serbs” - but Jagiellonians. Despite our recent provincial differences, a brief blink in time, we are at heart all quintessentially of the same salt, born from the same cradle, and sharing the same homesteads and aspirations.

Today we pay testament to Jagiellonia! The Union which shall see us rise together to ever greater heights. And yet more we salute our glorious King, Matthias III, and his almighty Palatine, Bárdossy, who together shall shepherd our new Union to the sunlit uplands of tomorrow.

(See Above) The new flag of the Sarnate of Assyria

The Winds of Change!
Today, two new nations have been borne from the salt of our united Magyar commonwealth; fellow realms beyond the seas benevolently stewarded by our glorious sovereign, Matthias III. The Federation of the Sahel (drawn from the former-colonial Territories of Soudan, Ubangi, Chad and Dinka), and the Sarnate of Assyria (borne of the Territory of the same name) shall together stand as new and welcome members to our fraternal Jagiellonian brotherhood.

The motives for such waves today are plainly clear, as they have been in the long and arduous months leading up to this moment. Their peoples are at last ready to be carefully handed the mantle of stewardship over their own lands. Their leaders have been carefully trained and groomed for this very moment. And rising Carsonist agitation in the Southern reaches shows now is the time to act and take the wind out of the red menace’s sails. Independence within, is any day far preferable to agitation, insurrection and god forbid revolution without.

His Imperial Majesty, who has spent the past week on a grand imperial tour stretching from the pleasant shores of Tripoli to the deepest deserts of the Sahel, is expected to invite Ephrem Khalil to become the first Kush (Palatine) of the Sahel. Khalil is a loyal former Askari - the crack battalions of native troops who have proven so courageous in face of often insurmountable odds against savage Carsonist and Ratist rebels. He later received extensive civil education at the University of Szeged, and has long been groomed by the Colonial Service for a role in the new state bureaucracy. Later this week, His Majesty will further open the first Federation Diet in the new Sahel capital of Khartoum, where Khalil will be pivotal in the seamless transfer of power.

Meanwhile in Assyria, Soterious tou-Assad has been named as Assur (Palatine) of the new Sarnate. Soterious is a member of the deep-rooted Greco-Arabic Assad family, a noble line which heralds from Alawistan to Damascus. As Assur, Assad is expected to receive His Majesty in Damascus next month when he will continue his sweeping tour of the region.

Each nation is to be constituted as independent Kingdoms within the personal union of the Jagiellonian Sphere. His Imperial Majesty shall thus henceforth arise as King of the Sahel (and hitherto King of Nubia, King of Kanem, Malik of Bornu, and Malik of Kerma), and Sar of Assyria (Malik of Aramea, Battos of Damascus). In these duties, he shall endeavour to do his utmost to serve the peoples of Assyria and the Sahel - his loyal subjects, so much equals to those in Bohemia, Rumania or even Buda.

PM’s Secretary in Exclusive Interview - Secrets of Downing Street Brought to Light

After stepping in as the successor of Winston Churchill, who served as the prime minister from 1946 to 1950, former minister of the exchequer Brograve Beauchamp brought a lot of his own staff to Downing Street to help him lead the nation. Among that staff was Mariella Pilkington, a journalism student who had been doing an internship as a correspondent at the exchequer and was surprisingly hired as a press assistant.

Ms Pilkington, why was a 22-year-old student hired as a full-time staff member of the British ministry of finance?

“Officially, they said that I was quick and witty with the pen and would bring new winds to the public relations of the ministry. In a way, that makes sense, as the press image of the exchequer was previously quite stale and sterile. However, I personally think my youth and looks had something to do with it as well.”

With the resignation of Mr Churchill, minister Beauchamp was selected as the new leader of the federal government. He quickly filled key positions of the Downing Street staff with his former employees from the exchequer. Nominally, the jobs were offered to be voluntarily accepted, but many have said that declination would have meant professional suicide.

Ms Pilkington, why did such an experienced politician choose to bring a dozen exchequer employees to the office of the federal prime minister?

“Like everyone else, Mr Beauchamp was deeply upset by Mr Churchill’s stroke and following resignation. We knew that those were massive boots he would have to fill. Even though he is experienced, the federal government is such a web that it requires highly loyal helpers and personal connections. Many of the staff he brought in were young women like myself, but that can be just a coincidence.”

Ms Pilkington grew up and was educated in Bexleyheath, Ham. Her father works as a printer in the Daily Herald and her mother sells souvenirs by the Bank. For any woman from these origins, becoming the prime minister’s personal secretary is quite an achievement. However, you secured this position in 1952, at the age of 26. Why do you think that is?

“Well, after Mr Beauchamp's tax irregularities were exposed earlier that year, he performed something of a “purge” on Downing Street, and many faithful employees who he suspected of having exposed him had to go. That included his former secretary, also a young, attractive lady. I had always supported Mr Beauchamp, and he saw I was the only suitable candidate for the job. I had all the qualifications: shorthand, stenotype, intricate knowledge of the workings of the government, and as an avid hurdler I had been keeping myself fit.”

What was life like on Downing Street after that?

“Well, Mr Beauchamp became increasingly more paranoid and saw political enemies everywhere. The situation became easier for a while after the 1954 election, as he got to reshuffle the federal government and fill the ministries with his puppets. But soon his paranoia became even worse. He even suspected his own family and ordered his wife to move back to their personal residence, giving him the freedom to do whatever he wanted on Downing Street. They rarely saw each other and even then only for dinner or tea.”

So, the prime minister must have filled his personal needs some other way?

“Obviously, his office was filled with young, ambitious women who were willing to please him in any possible way in order to further their career. Of course, I did not partake as my career was already at its peak. It only seems that nothing was enough for Mr Beauchamp. He was never happy, never showed any determination to his work, and he had constant problems with mental health, which was not helped by his excessive drinking.”

Would you say Mr Beauchamp had an alcohol problem?

“Had and still has. If I’d have to guess, he is currently going through his second bottle of sherry for the day, and it’s only lunchtime. He has managed to keep it under control enough to conceal it from the cabinet and the general public, but life on Downing Street is constantly marked by the attempts to keep the prime minister from falling to permanent delirium. His doctor visited the office weekly and tried to talk sense to him, as did we, but he refused to listen and kept on drinking more and more. As you have probably noticed, his public appearances have become rarer and rarer, and sherry is the main reason.”

Thank you for the interview, Mariella Pilkington, secretary of the prime minister. For your final statement, you wanted to send a message to the people of Britannia?

“Yes. If your friend, family member, or colleague suffers from alcoholism, do not be afraid to confront them about it. You may well save their life by getting them help. It is a dangerous disease and must be treated as soon as possible. Thank you.”

Resignation and Riots – August 17th, 1956

In an address to the nation over the radio and on television, Chairman Chen Yun announced that he would be resigning effective immediately. The Chairman cited the false allegations made against him using fabricated photos. The Chairman further added that his government's reaction to the incident and several nations' refusal to suppress the false story had severely damaged the Soviet republics' international standing and any prestige it may or may not have had prior to that time. Chairman Chen concluded by saying that he felt the nation could not move forward so long as he remained head of state and that new leadership would be needed. Several hours after Chairman Chen made his decision and a few hours prior to the broadcast being released over the airwaves, the politburo elected Li Xiannian to become the next General-Secretary of the Carsonist Party of China and Korea.

Several hours after the broadcast was released, massive demonstrations by an outraged and bereaved public came out in support of the outgoing Chairman in major cities across the nation. In Beijing, Nanjing, Chongqing, Tianjin, and Shanghai, huge demonstrations that led to rioting took place against perceived western interference through the use of fabricated photos to demean and humiliate the Chinese people and the Chinese nation. In Korea, large but peaceful demonstrations took place in support of the government in Busan, Seoul, and Pyongyang.

After the commotion of riots and protests across the nation, the new state of affairs became known to the public. Newly instated chairman Li had attained to the offices of general secretary of the CPCK, State Chairman of the Soviet Republic of China and Korea, and Premier of the State Council, making him the most powerful man since the days of absolute monarchy. Using this massive power, Li purged most of his colleagues on the politburo standing committee. The moderates and reform-minded members were removed, replaced with more leftist leaning members. Furthermore, the politburo standing committee's size was reduced from seven members to five, further consolidating power.

To top off his reorganization, Li replaced every member of the State Council except for defense minister Chen Yi whose status as a national hero made him virtually untouchable…for the moment. So he was allowed to retain the mostly symbolic position of defense minister.

In a demonstration of his perceived power, Chairman Li stood on the Tiananmen gate's rostrum, looking out onto Tiananmen square where thousands of soldiers goose-stepped past in salute. After the parade's conclusion, he gave a rousing speech to tens of thousands of people where he declared the new nation's ideology would be Zhuti or Juche in Korean, roughly translating to mean self-reliance. The Chinese nation would depend on no one, and its fate would rest in the hands of the Chinese people alone, away from the lies, decadence, and corruption of the western imperialists who had so shamelessly sought to reestablish decades of humiliation and colonization.

Former Imperial Chancellor dies aged 83 – June 9th, 1957

Marquis Zhu Qinglan, an old aristocrat and Imperial chancellor to his late Majesty, has passed away today at the age of 82. Zhu served his nation the brief period of direct rule from the dragon throne by his Imperial Majesty after a horrific scandal brought down the Wang Jingwei government. By all accounts, Zhu performed well in his role, beautifully handling the day-to-day state affairs of an ever-expanding empire while remaining apolitical in what could be considered turbulent times for the empire.

On reflection, he was neither terribly popular nor unpopular, maintaining the status quo until a democratic system of government could be re-established. Despite his evident competence for his position, his death stands out perhaps more than his career in politics. Former Chancellor Zhu is the first-ever former head of government of the reunified Chinese nation to die since the re-founding of the Qing Empire in 1917. Both of his predecessors Grand Marshal Zhang Xueliang and Prime Minister Wang Jingwei are still alive. The same could not be said of his cabinet, with 96-year-old former defense minister Min Young-hwan being the only living member of his cabinet.

His funeral is also interesting in that it has revealed the deepening division in the nation’s political elite. His funeral was attended by every one of his predecessors and successors as head of government of the Empire of the Great Qing. In addition to every surviving member of their cabinets and former Imperial Regent Duan. In contrast, not a single member of any Carsonist government attended his funeral, with the notable exception of defense minister Chen Yi who is well known to be a Carsonist in name only and serves out of a sense of dedication to the nation rather than any ideological connection with the ruling government.

Angolans Bomb Kongo! Crisis in Africa!
3 July 1957

Calamity engulfs much of the African continent today as reports now flood in across the world of the currently erupting conflict between Hauserist Angola and Kongo. Following the spillover of tensions after the dubiously investigated Lucapa bombing, sources on the ground confirmed that Kongolese troops were openly and deliberately attacked by Angolan artillery and infantry completely unprovoked! With footage now emerging of daring Kongolese Air Force fighters strafing advancing enemy lines, international onlookers now seem to accept the dismal reality that what began as an avertable border skirmish has resulted in all-out war between the two nations.

This unfolding "aggressive invasion," as described by Hallita Kekkonen, has already been met with immediate Finnish diplomatic and military reaction. When asked by reporters for the specifics of a Finnish response, Kekkonen elaborated on the activation of all White Air Force detachments stationed in Africa. Furthermore, the Hallita, supplementing a statement made by Kongolese Free State President Johannes Graff hours after initial reports, affirmed boldly that with but a month until the Middle-Globe Compact's second year anniversary, "the MGC's integrity would be defended to the last breath of all its members." Mustering much of the strength of Finland's abroad forces, the government has committed fully without declaring war to stand with its allies in this new struggle. This same move would seem to garner an indifferent response by the Gravonist Unity Party's hardliners.

More concerningly, these developments come mere months after the official confirmation by the Atomic Oversight Registry that the maniacal Volder regime is in possession of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. With news outlets in Kongo expressing great fear for the possibility of these weapons' uses on the battlefield, or worse, against civilian targets, the international communities efforts to dismantle the regime's stockpile have only been emboldened in the mission to prevent such brutality.

Some of these same concerns, however, are feared to have already been realized. Amidst the flow of reports from the new frontlines are images and reels of Angolan soldiers donning gas masks, marching through ominously abandoned former Kongolese positions. More grizzly images would emerge following a brief Angolan retreat from some of these same areas, where reporters captured in full undeniable proof of the Angolan army's employment of chemical weapons that have been banned by the Helsinki Conventions. More worryingly, concurrent reports have come in from Gabon where a surprise Angolan attack has also witnessed the use of nerve gas by these aggressing forces.

With strategic targeting of Angolan military infrastructure already underway, Finland now seeks to move for a wider international response from the helm of the international coalition formed to oppose Abram Volder's despicable rule. Furthermore, Hallita Kekkonen is rumored to be moving to seek for the Finnish delegation to the Congress of Nations to call for a new investigation into Angola's clear committing of crimes against humanity and violating of the Helsinki Conventions.

Not so Limited Intervention
4th of July, 1957

As the spiraling affairs of central Africa spill over into concerning fanaticism, Rhodesia no longer can abide by idle defenses. In spite of the international coalition taking its own actions, it leaves a sour taste to how spineless the coalition seems to be an obvious effect of the Domino Theory of more and more radical ideologies spreading to its neighbors. The international community would have to accept Rhodesian intervention for what it was because too much muddling about and disrupting the flow of things in central Africa had drawn enough of an ire that even the most pacifist and non-interventionist Rhodesian would cry out "ENOUGH!"

Rhodesian Air Forces would be detached to strike directly at Angolan forces, as well as key civilian infrastructure to sap the ability of the advanced troops to maintain steady basic logistics. The bombing campaign would be led by the initial wave of B-36 Peacemakers, carrying a mixed ordinance of napalm and conventional high explosives to deal an opening blow to the infrastructure. The peacemakers would be supported by Rhodesian F-100 strike groups, targeting primarily radar instillations, oil refineries, and dams along tactically significant areas to deny the enemy easy passage.

Air cavalry would move to drop advanced infantry consisting of the Rhodesian Light Infantry, as well as a new experimental unit called the Selous Scouts. Utilizing the limited capabilities of the helicopter fleet available to the Rhodesians the plan on the ground would be vastly different to that of the current trench warfare being engaged by the Kongolese and Angolan Forces. By constantly moving, repositioning, and attacking abstract targets the ground forces intend to destroy, deny the enemy, or simply distract.

The overall Rhodesian forces have also stated to the international community a policy of "Non intercedat." Warning all but American and Australian forces that there would be direct consequences to disrupting Rhodesian operations in the area. Rhodesian forces have also been granted authority by the Rhodesian government to commandeer supplies while in the field to maintain operational status and capabilities while so deep in enemy territory. The logistical planning of heavier offensives would be left to Rhodesian high command while the situation in the ground and air is settled with more practical intelligence. Any non-identified, and non US-alligned aircraft while operating in the scope of Rhodesian campaigns will be considered as active combatants and dealt with in an appropriate manner.

Reports of ONI agents moving to the country also have been consistently denied by Rhodesian forces, but no official statement has been made.
