In a Democracy, for starters the idea is that the stuff that the people like will end up coming to the top, that's why we get veteran members who stay around for a long time in politics, why parties are big, etc. To try and control that is to basically say that you need to be successful and help the region out, but if you help it out too much the region will get rid of you, help it out too little the region will get rid of you. It doesn't make sense. Term Limits on Directors... I can see the argument for that, but Senators? You know how dead the Senate would be? It just doesn't work.

We’re not getting rid of you at all, we’re just mandating a Temporary break in your career to open up spots to new people, as veterans usually have high public support and will monopolize the elections.

Do that for the Executive, that makes sense. Not the Senate!

If you’re so into democracy then the senate is relevant too! -palpatine

Oh yeah, this person you want to vote for, nah they’ve been performing well for too long. You’re not allowed to vote for them any more.

Tobosarsk wrote:to allow newer people to have a chance in the elections we should have a limit of 2 Consecutive terms, but no restriction on the cumulative terms. This way we aren’t barring the veterans from ever doing office again and we can also give newcomers a chance in the elections because some veterans are gone.

A completely arbitrary bias for new people doesn’t make sense, if they’re new let them work up their reputation and build a campaign that wins or loses based on its merits

the meaning is that the son is coming. because right now we are seeing all four horse men in play Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. Repent. everything does not matter, all the pity squabbles about anything and every right now we need to change and focus on Yahweh. because he is coming, anytime now.

We don’t always vote purely because of the campaign we also tend to vote fir people with more experience, thus newcomers are generally not voted for.

On Election Day in the US would most people vote for trump or Biden? That’s the question, because everyone knows they both have experience. No one voted for yang because he was a new guy

Flawed argument, Trump won the 2016 election with no government experience whatsoever, either way that's irrelevant, voting is an individual choice, the government has no legitimacy not to allow you to vote for a candidate because he has been in office for too long, the only thing that will achieve is an even more inactive senate and less competitive elections.

I've not been here long, so it's entirely possible I'm misreading the situation, but if the electorate is happy to continue re-electing a candidate then what's the issue? If people have an issue with their representatives then they will inevitably vote for "the new guy": a far more accurate explanation as to how Trump, a political newbie, managed to win the US presidential election.

Yes that’s exactly my point, and their experience proves valuable. Electing newcomers merely because they’re new is a terrible decision

I have kept myself neutral on the GA Resolution and i would like someone to try to sway me to vote for one side.

There's no need to give in to the fat cats' resolutions, comrade.

Just vote against all the resolutions

I still remember the time in MUN when I voted against on all resolutions, including my own...

Anyone can make proposals or get sponsored to debate to build up a career, but I've been in the NWE Senate since its beginning and it's the veteran players who do virtually all of the proposals and debating.
