The Protectorate of Lyras is a nation that was founded and established on the twenty-sixth (26th) of July in the year two-thousand and four (2004). That's nearly antiquity as far as on-site existence is concerned, but perhaps what's more astounding is how the Lyran State has managed its longevity thus far while also holding itself to a high standard of morality and maintaining itself as a global hegemon in both trade and diplomacy. A stratocracy, the Protectorate is not ruled by a military junta despite it possessing highly-advanced military weaponry. The progenitor of the Lyran Arms corporation, the Protectorate has acted as a foremost manufacturer in custom-made equipment for nearly the past decade in real time.

Not only is this a milestone, but its a true testament to the exemplary business practices and unwavering attention to detail that went into every Lyran Arms transaction up until present day. Out-of-character, in an era where the game had just switched over from Jolt (the old forum hosting medium for which NationStates was on prior), Lyras really took the helm and delivered what few others found themselves capable of in the ways of research and development that lead to the pioneering of new technology. The holding of that banner by the Protectorate is really what matters most here, as this motion subsequently established the incumbent standard by which modern nations conduct their economics and trade inquiries.

Despite the height of their activity has been between the years of 2006 and 2014, this does not serve to discredit their accomplishments and accolades on a broader spectrum of interest. From being the nation that drafted, promulgated, and first adhered towards the Castlegate Declaration (Seen Here); Lyras has been a force for good in the world that's impact has left behind an important imprint on the history of RolePlaying and the communities involved in it. From combatting the imperialist forces of the Holy Empire (Stevid) to liberating territory from the Communist oppressor of Dukopolious, to freeing the slaves of Greater tezdrian; they've proven time and time again that nations existing outside the realm of mainstream GamePlay (OOC) can still make a difference in the world (IC).

Having served in staff positions such as being a RolePlay Mentor and also widely regarded as being somewhat of a military design expert, the Lyran State has enshrined itself as not only a promoter of international peace but also an advocate of universal harmony and positive discourse between the nations. For that, it is important that we observe these actions. Not only recognizing the past actions of Lyras but also to ensure the continued admiration of such actions in the future by nations that have yet to be born. As a body herein assembled, that is our duty - to better the world one resolution at a time, and with this, you are doing that.
