San Miguel

The Creeperian National Police announce that it has arrested five people in San Miguel who were engaged in poaching protected wildlife in the San Romero rainforest. The police confiscated several trophy items. The men arrested were affiliated with Norteños.

Captain General Ernesto Castro Aldana congratulated Pedro Landaverde Payés on being elected as a member of the People’s Assembly of Sequoyah as a member of the Creeperian League, Castro Aldana’s former party before the Creeperian annexation of San Juan Diego and Navidad. He also congratulated the ruling government coalition on retaining its majority in the People’s Assembly.

San Salvador

As is a de facto tradition in Creeperopolis, the Ministry of Law Enforcement executed a high profile prisoner on 29 February to deny sympathizers an annual day to memorialize their death. The ministry publicly executed captured MRKA commander Moke Maleah by firing squad. Maleah, who was considered to be the group’s second-in-command, was captured by the DINA in August 2022 and was incarcerated at the Tuxtla Martínez–Panachor Maximum Correctional Facility since his capture.

San Carlos Islands

The MRKA condemned Maleah’s execution, accusing the government of committing a war crime and blatantly violating international law. The group threatened to exert revenge for Maleah’s execution “above and beyond what the freedom fighters on the Bacchante achieved”. A shooting occurred in Pensacola resulting in 2 deaths, but it is unknown if the shooting was related to Maleah’s execution or if it was committed by the MRKA.

Zapatista

Members of Mara Salvatrucha across the country commemorated the execution of former leader Alexander Ramírez Umaña, who was executed by the Creeperian government on 29 February 2020. The Creeperian National Police reported several instances of increased gang violence on 29 February which they attributed to the day being the anniversary of Ramírez Umaña’s execution.
