Pretty important announcement
You saw this already if you’re active on our Discord, where we normally hang out.

Hey y’all. I wanted to take a moment to let you know that **I am starting the abdication process today.** While I adore this community and I am so proud to see how it’s shifted in the nearly two years I’ve been a part of it, I’m realizing I have less and less time and energy to dedicate to it. I’m not fully leaving, but I will be stepping back from my In-Character government roles.

Badivermeraed and I have decided the transition period will take about two weeks- he will then officially be King of Thalassia and granted all powers held by that title.
I could not be happier handing off the title to another founding member of Thalassia- someone who knows her past and sees the possibilities of her future. He’s been a part of this community for about as long as I have, longer if you count Pacifica, and has always been ready to support it. I’m proud to be able to call him my friend and I am looking forward to seeing what he and all of our Thalassian creatives do with the region. I am confident that he’ll be a good King (and that if needed the community will keep him in check 😛 ).

I will be retaining my role as Chief Administrator and will continue to manage our OOC moderation and tech needs with my team. More on that later.

Per the Titles act and to honor our Greek inspired name, I’ve decided I’ll be taking on the title of Vasilissa Epítimos (Queen Emeritus) upon abdication. More than that, though, I would like to use this Act to honor a couple of members of our community who do not receive enough thanks- without them, Thalassia wouldn’t have made it in its early days. Hell, late Pacifica’s community probably wouldn’t have been able to move without them:

To Wymondham1, I grant the title Markissios Dýnami (Marquis Power) for his unshakable spirit, willingness to ask the difficult questions, and for all of his work (both publicly and behind the scenes, keeping everyone’s head on straight). His classic Wym walls and his fierce protection of this community and its various members have, in my eyes, firmly earned him this honor.

To Czech germania, I grant the title Varonos Dikaios (Baron Justice) for his dedication to what is right and just. He may have had to take a break from Thalassia, but no one can deny how crucial he was in our early days, not only ensuring the government wasn’t so blinded by security to remember what matters in our World- fun and creative pursuit- but also fighting to ensure that everyone was treated fairly.

These two players are prime examples of our community and of the NS community at large. Thank both of you for everything you’ve done for Thalassia!

So many of the rest of you deserve my thanks- thank you for these last couple of years together, thank you for all your support and your memes, and thank you for making me want to rinse out my eyes with bleach every Thursday (seriously those images are CURSED).
