The crowning
Expansion post 3/3

Sha’ri was sitting on her throne, taking a break from all the work that had to be done just to be alone with her thoughts, if only just for a second. She smiled to herself. She knew that the boy king of the Ral was not smart, but she did not realize that she could just turn him into a glorified general for the armies. Instead of sending a commander with the forces, the foolish boy thought he had to lead it himself when he was put in charge of expanding the kingdom. Either way, she had done something that her brother, father, uncle and grandfather could not. Stop the war with the Gorrin people. And she did it without bloodshed, while bringing the Gorrin people under her influence. She knew that even though Lar was still a child, he was already a great commander, and will continue to grow in that field. And that is the field that she was planning to keep him in. She would take charge of all other matters related to the state, while he can run around and play soldier. She knew that he would still play an important role in the running of this nation. There are many powerful nations out there, both on this continent as those far across the sea. Allies would eventually have to be made, but first the infrastructure of the nation itself would have to be set up.
Sha’ri had been working hard in bringing in all those that held influence in the country to her palace, so that they could swear their loyalty to her. Now all she had to do was wait for Lar to finish his expedition, so that the final steps of the nation could be completed.

Many miles away

Lar pulled his sword free from the chest of a Lopexian warrior, blood gushed out and created a puddle around the dead warrior.
“May the gods accept you with open arms.” Lar whispered.
His men cheered, led by Lar’s new enforcer Hak.
An older Lopexian stepped forward, the head advisor of the chieftain of this tribe. The chieftain that now lay dead on the floor. “You have defeated our chieftain in single combat, something that we always thought to be impossible. For generations, his bloodline had not lost in single combat. Our council had agreed that if your champion defeated our chieftain, we would swear our loyalty to you. And as a true leader, you were your own champion.”
The council of the Lopexian tribe all took a knee.
“We swear our loyalty to you, King Lar the Fourth, of Camoral. We are your servants.”
At that point Hak stepped forward. “Enough with that ‘the Fourth’ nonsense, he is the first Lar to be king of Camoral, his ancestors were only kings of Ral. He is a conqueror, and that is how he shall be known. I hereby represent you with our King, King Lar the Conqueror, the First of his Name, Protector of Camoral.”
Lar’s men, both his old ones as well as his new Lopexian subjects, cheered loudly.

Within the next few days, Lar would leave his forces to secure the border, a border that would not remain for long, as Camoral will continue to expand. Together with Hak, he would head to Sha’ri’s palace, to let her know that all has gone as planned, and the first phase of Camoral’s expansion is complete. When they reached Sha’ri’s palace they found her in her throne room with her guards, waiting.

“Ah Lar, you have returned. And I see you made a friend along the way. Tell me, how did it go?” she asked.
“Easier than expected Sha’ri. This here is Hak, my new enforcer, the gods have shown him to me.” Lar answered.
“Ah, your ‘gods’, of course they have. Are you planning to continue to lead the expansion expedition?” Sha’ri asked.
“Yes,yes I will. As long as you take care of our other duties.” he stated.
Sha’ri smiled, just as she thought, he wants to be a soldier. “Good, good. But before you head back to the border, we shall feast, to celebrate the creation of our nation. I have heard that you have already chosen a title, good good. We shall also be crowned tonight, as the first monarchs of Camoral.”
Lar frowned. “How did you hear that?”
Sha’ri returned the frown with a smile. “Oh Lar, we are a King and a Queen, we have spies everywhere within our kingdom.”

That night they were both crowned as the King and Queen they were. King Lar the Conqueror, the First of his Name, Protector of Camoral, and Queen Sha’ri, the First of her Name, ruler of Camoral. Behind her back, Sha’ri gained the name of whisperer, Sha’ri the Whisperer, or in the shadows, Sha’ri the Witch.
