A small group of the highest-ranked officials sat around a table in the High Government’s conference table. They were here today to discuss the plan of action against the Gem attack, and other similar issues.

“Well, I know we’re all anxious to hear my response to our our tank convoy’s success, so let’s get onto it,” spoke President Lapointe. “I am extremely pleased to hear that the convoy successfully opened up a liberated corridor across the west coast to the Iberian Peninsula. This should hopefully give us some extra room to push back the aliens, and potentially encircle them. But, despite these successes, while driving a push through Languedoc to cause an encirclement, the tanks were hit by heavy orbital bombardment, and were completely obliterated.”
A small murmur echoed through the room
“So President, what’s the plan?” Spoke up Pierre Fauxpolitique
“Well, we have an idea. We don’t know if it will work, but it is worth a try”
“So what is it?”
“Well, simply put, we give them the cold.”
“The cold?! What use is that? Surely they’ll, well, just GET A COLD!”
“No, but humans nowadays are nearly fully immune to the Common Cold, but to aliens who have never been exposed to it before, it could be lethal.”

Secret Testing Facility, near Loudéac, Brittany, Tuesday, 17:00 CET

“What were the results of the latest test, General?”
“The first load of missiles are working now, President.”
“Great. Send the order for them to be transported to Île Longue and loaded onto the subs there.”
“Yes, President”
“So, what are your plans for these missiles?”
“We’re sending the submarines down the Bay of Biscay to around La Rochelle, and then we will proceed launches of these cold-tipped missiles. Our plan is to land missiles in a line from Clermont-Ferrand to Montpellier to cause an encirclement, then call for the troops in France to encircle and push into the Gems, to the aid of falling missiles. I hope you can send a message to the Americans, telling them of this plan?”
“Indeed, I will. I hope this plan succeeds and we can destroy these aliens once and for all

From President Lapointe. “With our new plan to defeat the Aliens, the French-Indopean government would like all troops fighting in the south-west of France to hold defensive positions until the missile strikes occur, and then move around to encircle the Gems.
Also, if any nations have any information or ideas on how the Gems respond to disease, it would be greatly appreciated if they could share it with us.
