Kingdom Of Iraq The kingdom of Iraq has had a turbulent history rife with invasions and armed rebellion. The kingdom has been lead for the past years by prininister Nuri al-Said under the British backed King Faisal II. Britain following the Anglo-Iraqi war still maintains a presence in the area such as controlling RAF Habbaniya are bass and other strategic locations to protect their interests in the area. Today is a new dawn for Iraq and change is in the air. Ba'athism On The Rise Abd al-Karim Qasim leader of the nationalist group and also a brigadier in the Iraqi army has begun making speeches against the king and their British backers in front of his troops and in front of larger and larger crowds as the movement grows in strength each day. “hadhih mas'alat fakhar wataniy. wabaqi albritaniuwn mrhbana bitarhibihim fi 'ardina , wayajib alan 'iijbaruhum ealaa alkhuruj min khilal alsalam 'aw bialsayf , yjb 'an yaeuduu 'iilaa manaziluhum wayatrakawna linahkum min dun tathirihim wujueahum aldhy la yantahi abdana fi naftina. yjb 'an yasqut almalik aldumaa 'aydaan 'iidha 'aradna 'an nakun 'ahraraan min naweihim alan wa'iilaa al'abad. kama 'anana lm nansaa qrybaan tawarat alquwwat alhindiat fi alhujum ealaa shaebina kiharb shanat fi jmye 'anha' alealam , kama 'anana ln nansaa kayf eindama takhalat quaa almihwar ean almaeunat , takhlina ean masirina , nahn wahdna felaan hdha alealam wbsbb hdha yjb ealayna muharabat dhlk 'aseab bikathyr”. English Translation “This is a matter of national pride. The british have over stayed their welcome in our land and now must be forced out be it through peace or with the sword, they must go back to their homes and leave us to govern without their influences and their never ending hunger for our oil! The puppet king too must fall if we are to be free of their kind now and forever. we also have not soon forgotten the involvement of the Indian forces in the attack on our people as war waged across the world and we shall also not forget how when turned to for aid the axis powers abandoned us to our fate, we are truly alone in this world and because of this we must fight that much harder”.
