President Alfonso has said that the situation in the Mediterranean is "getting out of hand" and Anglo-Wales and Germany should calm down. She was speaking at a joint press conference with President Torres of North Pyrox who is on a state visit. Both Alfonso and Torres claimed that the European powers did not have all the facts and could not possibly know everything that is going on in the Med Islands. However the President did say that it was clear Del Riego was "dangerous and discriminatory". President Torres also echoed that by saying "Del Riego's regime is obviously violating human rights in many ways and is promoting discrimination however I do not think it is as bad as the Media, Cromwell and the USoN are portraying it as." The head of the Mestizolian Armed Forces has said that conflict should be "avoided at all costs" however if it does break out then Mestizolia would "consider getting involved".
The visit from Torres is seen as a strengthening of ties between the last two moderate conservative leaders in TATO.
