Aragonn Waiting on you.

The republic of rei

Your diplomats are welcome too. Be warned this tech has its fallback mainly you can't eat for a few days after and it the poison/irradiated is in a solution which you have to purify a colloid to be exact (I've been studying science.).

I know, I'm working on it. Slowly, but still.

Hello, and welcome to New Hyperion!

thank you

what the heck are terra novam, Aragonn and you talking about?

Aragonn wrote:I know, I'm working on it. Slowly, but still.

Alright, I'll use the downtime to introduce another plotline then. Not right now, of course, but I'll have it ready to go when the time comes. XD

Working on the next IC post for our forum game RP.

Either the RMB RP we have going on or the sh*tpost thing about kebab, I imagine.

so you guys roleplay this game a lot?

Adrinian wrote:so you guys roleplay this game a lot?

RP is the largest part of what this game is about, but in this region only a few of us regularly do. We're looking to improve that though.

i have been trying to roleplay by adding to my factbook

how does one enact policies?

Adrinian wrote:how does one enact policies?

Policies are automatically enacted by answering issues in a certain way. I'm sure there's a thread somewhere on the forum where they explain exactly what's what, but in essence it just comes down to answering the issues you get the way you want your nation to go (or discarding them if there's no good option).
Policies themselves don't actually do much aside from changing the wording in your issues; it's the issues themselves that change your actual stats.
But they aren't all that important - most people either make things up as they go or use factbooks. I don't think anyone in New Hyperion cares about state or policies in our RP'ing.

okay, good to know

Speaking of factbooks, I just looked at your formation factbook. I find it interesting how it's only been 250 years for your nation to get from this moon to where it is now. I don't know how powerful you intend to RP your nation as, but the typical length of time it takes nations to get to the strength of Terra Novam and my own Aesir Empire is many thousands of years, assuming you have the technology for it right off the bat.

I really do hope you don't stop. Continue expanding upon what you have, and flesh out your nation to become a real, life-like civilization.

Terra novam wrote:Eastern flank
The Imperials had been shaken by the Aesir’s successful nuclear torpedo tactic, and the loss of the Barracuda and Rear Admiral Martzen proved the death blow for the Terran Eastern flank. Without their commander’s guidance, the fleet was unsure of how to respond to the Xenos’ sudden turning of the tide, and thus the Terran attack petered out and the rout was on. Having also lost contact with the main body and Vice Admiral Schwarzkopf, nobody was quite sure who was in charge now, and as a result the Terran fleet broke up as each individual squadron commodore ordered a full retreat.
The carriers and their Dreadnought escorts in the rear lines had already jumped away and made good their escape, but the capital ships and their escort groups on the front lines were not so lucky.
With BATTLENET out of commission, vectors and routes intersected, turning the Terran retreat into a disorganized mess as ships maneuvered to keep from colliding, squadrons separated from their battlegroups, and some ships immediately fired up their A-drives and jumped away regardless of whatever lay in their path. A few dozen Battleship captains simultaneously got the idea to fire off Nova Cannon shots to disrupt the Aesir front line and buy some time to retreat, but with the Aesir continuing to put the pressure on, a total massacre was in the making.

Frigate FF-413
Commodore Johnston observed the Terran detachment tangle up and collapse all over itself as the Aesir pushed them into retreat. His own 38 ships had survived the rest of the battle, and were even now firing into the scrum, but Thomas knew that the battle was minutes away from ending. This was an opportunity to avenge the Covacs fleet’s callous sacrifice by obliterating an entire wing of the man responsible for this slaughter, but he also knew that the cosmonauts on these Imperial starships had no knowledge of any of this, just doing as they were told without question. And misguided though they might be, they were still fellow Humans, and Johnston could not stomach having to abide by the destruction of the defeated Terran East wing. For all he knew, the Aesir were merciless killers, not content with victory but wanting total annihilation – something the Terrans themselves admittedly did to their own enemies bar those circumstances where said enemy had fought with true bravery, but also something he knew to be anathema to the Novans and likely to sour the alliance with the Xenos.
Thus, after ordering his ships to cease fire, he got on the comms and broadcast open-channel:
“Attention all. Attention all. This is Thomas Johnston, Eastern Shield Fleet. Terran forces, you have been defeated. Trying to run is pointless. Do not throw your lives away and join the winning side. If the Aesir wipe you out, there is nothing I can do to stop them. Stand down!”
“Now we wait and see.” He told his bridge crew. “Let’s hope this culture clash won’t be the death of us all.”

Northern Engagement
As the Dysonians raided the rear of the Terran formation, harassing capital ships with torpedo volleys while Belderian boarding teams picked away at smaller ships under the support of heavy Novan gunnery, the front of the Imperial fleet was breaking its way through the buckled Aesir center lines while the sides held off the Xenos’ attempts to break up the battered Imperial fleet, Terran smallcraft tangoing with their Aesir counterparts to protect their ships from bombers as the anti-ordnance frigates worked overtime to shoot down incoming missiles and torpedoes. For the first time in the battle, the Terran capital ships used their Nova Cannons, but instead of coordinated volleys every captain fired at will, mostly concerned with securing an exit vector for their own battlegroup; but still the massively powerful Nova shells were doing their work as they prevented the Aesir from concentrating their forces to overwhelm the remnants of the First Expeditionary Fleet.

I.S.S. Austerlitz
“Carriers to the center! Dreadnoughts: surround them! I want my Battleships and Heavy Cruisers to form an outer perimeter, tank the enemy’s fire as best you can! Smaller cruisers and escort ships fill the space in between, and put my flagship dead center within the formation. Once that’s done, make ready the fleet to open up for his Armageddon Gun on my signal. We’re going to blow open another hole in the Aesir fleet if they’re foolish enough to try and block our exit route. Now, execute!” Vice Admiral Schwarzkopf ordered, heedless of the fact that his Armageddon Gun was only rated for firing once an hour and either forgetting or willfully ignoring the possibility that firing again prematurely could very well cause his own ship to explode.

Eastern Engagement

The Terran retreat was in full swing. Rear elements were getting away smoothly, but forward elements caught themselves in a tangled mess. All fire upon retreating ships ceased, but remaining fighting elements continued to receive a barrage of rail gun fire and lancer fire. The Nova Cannon shots destroyed over a dozen Aesir destroyers and crippled many more ships. Aesir capital ships opened fire upon the Terran battleships which fired their guns in retreat, for any ship continuing to fire is a hostile target which needs to be neutralized. The loss of additional ships was taken more as a spit in the face, but the Lieutenant Kommander needed to remain calm and keep his Captains orderly.

Northern Engagement

Aesir ships were being split in half by Nova Cannon shots, but this only further determined the Aesir Captains to deal as much damage to these honorless Bikkja the Terrans called “Captains” as possible. Ships continued to maneuver themselves in front of the Terran retreat, and Aesir lancer weapons glowed hot as the fury of what remained of the Aesir reserve fleet poured forth from the barrels. Grimmr's orders were to destroy the Austerlitz, and that's what they were going to do.

meaning 250 years from the nations creation. when it was created, it had pretty much the same tech we have now

i will explain more thoroughly in factbook

Attention! I will be making a new nation by the name of Ducitora, this one doesn't suit me, I will join New Hyperion of course.
