I remember Missouri, Midwest flooding in 1990. I toured the backroads of Missouri/Iowa to see how the various flood control attempts had survived (or not). Fluid dynamics, engineering, soils, and Geomorphology.
I'd been Stormchasing in Missouri/Oklahoma earlier that Spring. Played with the first Doplar Radar systems in Norman, Oklahoma, before they were deployed everywhere. Facinating workstations, multiple keypads color coded, joystick, huge Pixar monitors. Kinda like a giant arcade game.

A storm chaser!? ooohhh!! *stares* I like watching storm chaser videos on youtube. I'd like to see a tornado one day! Not near home though.. apparently a tornado squeaked at a town just to the west of where I live yesterday.. Did a lot of damage too.
