[DNN] Election Update
Over the weekend debates were held between the Vice Presidential and Presidential Candidates. The Former was a heated debate which began with WU candidate Jessica Griffin accusing Fred Moore of sexism after saying "We need a strong man to take up the office" in his opening statement, Moore claimed he was referring to the Office of President where the only candidates are male. Griffin later accused the Liberal Party of "Not being Liberal" due to the death penalty still being used and conscription still being in place to which Moore responded with "We are not the Liberal Party, we are the National Liberal Party and so we are not blind to what is necessary in the countries interests. The Death penalty is allowed in order to keep people safe from the most dangerous people and conscription makes sure our young people have the necessary skills to work and more importantly learn to respect. We do believe in Freedom and Liberty, but we also make sure our country is strong and safe. It is a balance". Most of the debate was spent with both candidates trying to speak over each other and the public was not pleased with the performance of either candidate but polls show that the Vice President was the more impressive candidate. The Presidential Debate was calmer with both candidates respecting the moderators decisions. Liam Knight was quick to point out the issue of Income inequality saying "It is outrageous that the wealth gap in this country is bigger than that of Pyrox, you promised a free and equal nation and you brought inequality and poverty. I would crack down on this travesty in my first day in office", The President responded with "I'm sorry we're trying to fix what the Socialist dictatorship that came before did, but i'm sure you didn't think it was so bad considering you were a member of David Lloyds party! You lecture me on inequality when you would be quite glad if everyone was poor". Liam Knight has consistently denied the allegations of being a member of Lloyds Communist Party but it has haunted him throughout the campaign. On the subject of security and defence, Cromwell stated "My Government managed to route out and eventually force the LAL into capitulation by establishing a dedicated taskforce, I hope to make sure that it continues to hunt down all terrorist threats and will expand to fight the cyber threat, I hope Mr Knight will agree that our war with the LAL was a success. Knight responded with "Your efforts were commendable however you have failed to address the widespread belief that you were played by the LAL and they are still out there preparing for a large scale attack". Cromwell then said there was no evidence to support that claim. On Foreign policy, Cromwell said "We shall continue to put pressure on the Del Riego regime and restore democracy there as soon as possible. I fear we have underestimated him but the appeasement policy of my opponent is disgraceful and will only embarrass Anglo-Wales!". Liam Knight laughed at this and said "Our nation has one of the strongest militaries in the world, and yet you couldn't beat a minor nation like the Med Islands so don't accuse me of embarrassing the nation. Hundreds died because of your lack of strategic judgement." The Polls show that there was no clear winner of the debate but overall Cromwell is still in the lead by 3 points but it can all change in the next few days.

Communication between President Cromwell and President Nestler of the USoN has been leaked. It appears to show Cromwell asking the German Leader to come over to Anglo-Wales in an attempt to swing the election in his favour. It included the phrase: "I underestimated this Knight character and unfortunately the Conservatives have stabbed me in the back even though a Socialist Government would be the last thing they would want and so I need some help", which clearly shows the President wanted help from a foreign leader to make it easier to win which would be a serious abuse of power. His opponent was quick to react saying "This is outrageous, the President has effectively made himself inadequate for office and even if he does win, there will be impeachment proceedings and I am sure of that. He will be judged on Friday by the Anglo-Welsh Public and I am confident they will choose change and remove the power abuser from office!". There has been comment from President Cromwell however his campaign manage has said "We are completely confident that the President has done nothing wrong since Nestler was here as a friend and not as a head of state. Also, this leak is obviously a crime and should be investigated". Security services have since confirmed that they think the leak has origins in the Med Islands and bares all the marks of a Med Islands cyber attack. These latest developments are sure to have an impact on the election which is in just two days and will probably be a big problem for the President.
In other election news, former Presidential Candidate and now Parliamentary Candidate, Megan Reed has been out campaigning for the NCP who are hoping to make a big impact in the elections for the House of Commons and the newly established elected House of Lords. Reed has been saying "We are on the verge of introducing a Conservative voice to our democracy and we shall hold the balance of power to keep the deluded voices of the Left and so called 'Centre' under control. I even invite the Liberals who are deeply concerned about our Presidents abuse of power to our party which has values that keep our leaders honest!". The House elections take place on the same day as the Presidential election for the first time and will see a large house of commons. The new House of Lords will see a Lord elected to represent each of the counties in England and Wales and will be the Upper House, reviewing and putting forward legislation.

After three days of the nation worrying about President Nestler's absence upon arrival from Anglo-Wales, frightening photos uploaded by an unknown group of criminals have surfaced under the #NestlerProblems tag. Herr Nestler is displayed sitting on a chair in his full dress uniform, dazedly staring into the camera with both hands tied behind his back, mouth taped shut and someone holding a knife to his throat. It is unsure why Herr Nestler is wearing his uniform in the photos, but it appears clear that his captors attempt to send a message and possibly show him off to the public. Our Head Analyst suspects that, taking all previous arguments of disapproval into account, his tormentors mean to "brag that one of the former most powerful and famous European leaders, someone they perceive as a mass-murderer, is now in their hands and right at their mercy, a President fallen from grace."
Private investigator Jonathan DeKeyrel has made a grand comeback after unsuccessfully attempting to track down the terrorist 'el Iblīs', infamous for his killing method of sending or leaving Anthrax letters for his victims. Herr DeKeyrel is on the case as well, cooperating with the authorities. It appears that he had been with Nestler before his captivity.
In accordance with the current official state of investigation, the President had returned home to find a foul forgery of a letter, supposedly written by his wife Frau Lucya Liliya Elizaveta Nestler, née Fyodorova, stating she was absent for some time and took their only child, dog and cat with her, only leaving him the car. Upon realising the gravity of the situation and that something terrible may have happened, the President then contacted his old friend, Jonathan DeKeyrel, to apply forensic science to the letter at a Leipzig Institute for Criminology in secrecy. Returning to his car, so DeKeyrel witnessed, Herr Nestler had found a letter stuck to the windshield and opened it. That was the last time Herr DeKeyrel had seen the President, as he sped off in his blue Ford, only leaving behind the letter which urged him to hurry up and 'do what he does best' as according to the letter, a reference to his habit of speeding in public traffic.
It appears the Nestler family was reported missing upon Nestler's arrival and the Police are certain they are currently investigating not only Kurt Nestler's abduction, but also his family's. The President, driven by the crazed desire to save his family from captivity or worse, ran several red lights and sped through the city, frantically searching up phone booth after phone booth only to get the next call in time in the hopes of being told the whereabouts of his wife and child. Of course, this sort of behavior similar to that portrayed in action movies hadn't gone unnoticed and he quickly attracted Police attention, with several cruisers tailgating his Ford. Nestler even went as far as to shoot in the air with his pistol, only to keep the Police at bay. After reaching what appeared to be the last phone booth, Nestler managed to shake the heat by hiding in alleyways and taking risky shortcuts at high speeds, possibly because he was told not to bring any Police to the meeting spot. This was also why he hadn't sought out Police assistance on the matter.
The President's Ford had last been seen as it continuously drove down Leipzig's ring road in circles (possibly serving as a distraction), but when the Police had pulled it over to apprehend the driver, it suddenly became apparent that neither Nestler nor any of his family were present and there was no other passenger in the car despite its driver. The driver has been taken into investigative custody by the Police and the car was towed away to a Police station, where the body of a previously convicted criminal was discovered in the trunk. It seems fairly possible the criminal stood in relation to the ring of at least two perpetrators.
Licensed mercenaries previously hired by Nestler are currently participating in the untiring and neverending ongoing search and rescue efforts done by the Police. Even his friends and veterans are taking part in this immense feat to find him. All entrance roads leading to the City are being controlled tightly, with every car that enters or leaves it being thoroughly searched.
Updates are to follow as the Nestler family's current condition remains unknown. As the situation is still developing at the moment, any of the current information is subject to change. The candidates have been making the most of the last day of campaigning before the nation goes to the polls tomorrow to elect a President, members of the House of Commons, House of Lords and the English and Welsh assemblies. The President has been in Sheffield which was a Liberal stronghold however after the leak it could swing to the left, he began his last and largest rally by saying "I firstly want to address the disappearance of my friend and Ally, President Nestler, my thoughts and prayers are with the people of the USoN and of course with the German leader and his family. Anglo-Wales is willing to help the Germans in any way to return The President and his family to safety and to bring the criminals to justice. Because that is what Anglo-Wales is about, helping and protecting our allies and being in the service of those in need. It is why we have one of the largest foreign aid budgets in the world, to help those who cannot help themselves and I am proud of that and I hope you allow me to continue as President in order to continue the countries work overseas and at home!". He went on to tell the thousands of people who attended the rally that "Anglo-Wales is stronger than it has ever been before. Our military is ready to take part in operations all over the world and to protect freedom and democracy wherever it goes. When I came into office 3 years ago, I saw a nation unable to forgive itself for the crimes its government had committed in the past, but I have seen it grow its confidence and become a proud and free world power and I want to continue that so tomorrow when you go to the ballot box, I hope you chose the values of Hope and Kindness that the NLP has over the Socialist nonsense and Conservative hatred. We are a nation of hope and I and my party will keep it that way. So Vote for the National Liberal Party, Vote for Hope!" The crowd then spontaneously burst into singing the National Anthem, "Land of Hope and glory" and there was much cheering and flag waving. These scenes will of course give the NLP some optimism after the disastrous leak which has seen Liam Knight return to leading the polls however it is not the people of Sheffield who decide the election. Elsewhere, Liam Knight was at his last rally in his former constituency of Islington where he told the crowds "Tomorrow you have a chance to make a change, to reject a Government that does not care about you and to remove a President that abuses his powers to keep his fancy houses and nice office. Tomorrow, you have a chance to bring true socialism to Anglo-Wales and to make lives easier for millions.Together we shall stop the pointless wars, we shall stop the inequality and we shall stop the elitism that runs this world. It is time to change the way this country is run and change it so that it protects the vulnerable, the disadvantaged and the unfortunate and I as President and Jessica as Vice President will make sure that change does happen. So tomorrow, Vote for Workers Unite Candidates up and down the ballot paper. For if we truly unite, we shall bring that change this country desperately needs!". The crowds then began singing the Socialist Anthem "Red Flag" and there were tears on many of the attendants faces. After the rally, Liam Knight told us that he was deeply concerned about the situation with the German President and had been on the phone with Cromwell about it.
It is impossible to predict what will happen tomorrow. Nobody is sure if the public will forgive Cromwell or will punish him and maybe it is too soon after David Lloyd to return to the left for many people. It will all be answered tomorrow.

Millions of Anglo-Welsh citizens will go to the polls today and vote for who they think should run the country. The polls opened at 8 AM and so far turnout at the stations has been very high. Workers Unite Candidate for President, Liam Knight, was seen voting in his hometown of Islington with his Wife, when asked how he thought it would go he said "I'm very optimistic, a high turnout Is a very good thing!". Meanwhile President Cromwell voted in Cardiff and took part in '#DogsatPollingStations' by bringing his Dog along with him. When asked for his opinion the President said "I honestly don't know what will happen, I'm just glad to see so many people out voting and that's all I could have hoped for". It is very unlikely that Cromwell will win in a landslide like he did in the emergency election in 2014 however the polls have been very close so it is impossible to predict. The new electoral system of a larger House of Commons, an elected House of Lords and two rounds of the Presidential Election have been being prepared for since Cromwell came into power and were not due to be put into place until next year however as soon as they were ready to implement, Cromwell called the election one year early in order to "bring back the fully democratic system this country once loved". There have however been some concerns about the electrical voting systems being tested in London, Birmingham and Cardiff as they could be vulnerable to a cyber attack from the Med Islands but this has not stopped people coming out and voting. One citizen told DNN that "I was unable to vote in 2014 but now I'm incredibly proud to cast my first vote and move completely away from the Lloydist Tyranny of the past and bring Anglo-Wales into the future!".

For those just tuning in, the final election results are in and we can confirm that Liam Knight of the Workers Unite Party has been elected President of Anglo-Wales with 51.4% of the vote, President Cromwell received 48.6%. This is a historic decision by the people of this country as the Left has been returned to power and also the first Female Vice President has been elected. The victor addressed his supporters earlier this morning; "I have just received a call from the President Congratulating me for winning the election. I first just want to pay tribute to Daniel Cromwell because he should be remembered as a Hero, he liberated this country from a tyrannical regime and restored democracy to our great nation making this election possible. He has done so much for this country and I thank him for that. I also of course must thank the millions of people who came out and voted for Jessica and I to lead this nation and help those in need. We're going to improve the welfare system making sure benefits go where they are needed, we're going to remove the horrible death penalty and end conscription. Elsewhere in the world we will make sure that nobody faces the tyranny this country did and will encourage democracy all across the globe. This country will see change, and I know it may be hard for some to accept but in the end we are all in this together and we shall move forwards into the future as one great nation. Thank you all for coming, we've got an exciting few years ahead of us!" The crowd then erupted into singing "The Red Flag" and there was much cheering and applause. The scenes were quite different at the Liberals election event with many of those attending crying and holding signs saying "Don't Go Cromwell!". The President made a very emotional address a few hours after his opponent saying "There comes a time when all leaders must go and I couldn't be prouder to go as a result of millions making the simple gesture of putting a cross in a box. And in the end that was my mission, to bring true democracy to our nation and so all I can say is I have accomplished my mission and in doing so I hope Anglo-Wales is better off. During my time as President I have met many people, many world leaders and had to deal with conflict, disaster and diplomacy and I wish Liam Knight luck in dealing with these things himself. And to all my supporters, and in fact everyone across the country I say this; change is always inevitable, it might be hard but we shall get through this and we shall do it peacefully. If you disagree strongly then of course protest but do so without violence. That is what true democracies do. That is how we do not collapse into civil war. So if you have fallen out with someone because of this election then I ask of you to restore relations with that person and move on. Peace is all I have ever wanted for this country and for the world, I have made mistakes and I will never regret my goal to bring peace and freedom to the world. Thank you all for standing by me for these past three years, it has made the job easier knowing there are people out there who will support me and get me through the hard times and I hope I was able to make you feel better to. I also must thank Fred for being a great friend and the best Vice President a man could have. I thank General West for doing the right thing in 2014 and bringing the first steps towards a free Anglo-Wales and I thank all our allies for standing with Anglo-Wales against oppression, tyranny and war. Vice President Moore was less diplomatic in his response to the result, telling DNN "I completely dispute this result, something is not right here and I shall fight against it. I am sure a foreign power has influenced the result somehow and I will try and prove it!". In some voting areas the result was incredibly close and was in the margin required for a recount however Cromwell refused to hold any recounts in order to "Improve confidence in democracy".
Also, In a surprise turn of events, the Liberal Party has managed to remain the largest party in the House of Commons and Lords. We shall be posting the full results of the parliamentary and assembly elections elsewhere. This bizarre result was explained by one voter who told us "Daniel Cromwell made several disastrous mistakes which made it difficult for us to vote for him however we respected him and what the Liberal Party has done for us too much to allow someone to reverse all they have done and so we voted for Liberal parliamentary candidates to keep Liam Knight In check". Despite this, it is still possible for the Workers Unite Party to work with the Greens and Pirate Party to get legislation through.
In other election related news, despite calls for peace by both presidential candidates there have been protests in several major cities by Right Wingers and some of those have been violent, they have been carrying signs saying "Never Again!" and "Death to the Reds!". They are particularly concerned by the little talked about policy of Liam Knight to ban the National-Socialist 'Neo-Saxonist' party and the Fascist Republican Party. NCP leader, Megan Reed, has said "The Right are of course going to be disappointed with this election, we've been pushed to the side and had our mouths taped for too long. We are not going to stand for a socialist President and will protest everything it does. We are willing to work with the liberals wherever we can to stop this resurgence of Socialists including forming a coalition in the English Assembly and making deals in Parliament!" Away from the violent protests, in a show of unity both the President and President-Elect will attend a memorial to those killed in the recent war with the Med Islands. Vice-President Elect Jessica Griffin said that this was to "send a message across the world that democracy does not have to divide nations, it can heal them and make them more united".

"Good evening everyone, as you are sure to be aware of, my previous statements about lasting longer than my democratic counterparts was proved right. Mr Cromwell was removed from office by the very system he put in place, and was defeated simply because he asked for some help. Ha, what an absolute farce, now Anglo-Wales has fallen victim to the cancer of socialism and will soon fall into irrelevance. There's a reason the Socialist Parties of Anglo-Wales are designated as Hate groups and arrested and that reason is because they are a dangerous threat to our Christian values and bring pain and suffering wherever they go. As for Herr Nestler, I will not laugh or criticise as it is a very serious and distressing issue. My thoughts and prayers are with the President and his family and I offer Frau Strauss any assistance required to find him and punish the perpetrators. However as much as I am concerned about the welfare of the German leader, I must say that the democratic world is in chaos and looking for a scapegoat to blame. The Anglo-Welsh seem to blame the Med Islands for electing a socialist. Why on earth would I rig an election in favour of the spawn of the devil. Surely i'd support someone with the same beliefs as me? Well anyways, No matter the chaos elsewhere, our great Federation remains strong and united. And I wish to spread our order and justice throughout the region and so I will be reaching out to all the leaders of Mediterranean nations and asking them to join this mighty nation of God where strong Conservative values keep us together and keep us from the insanity of liberalism. And staying together is important, for divided we are weak but united we are strong and can take on the forces of Democracy!"

President Cromwell has recently released a statement condemning the Med Islands treatment of the LGBT community. He says that Homosexuals who have come from the Med Islands have told authorities that if they are found out then they must take part in compulsory conversion therapy. They claim that mysterious men visit their homes in the middle of the night and take them to a facility where the therapy takes place. They also say that propaganda encouraging people to come forward with information about potential homosexuals is common place. Del Riegos regime has recently put heavy restrictions on the borders meaning it is difficult for members of the oppressed minorities to escape, it has been reported that some have been taking boats in order to get to New Tunisia. The LGBT community are not the only ones being oppressed as it is widely believed that there is heavy discrimination against the small Muslim Population as well as Jews and Black people to a smaller degree. The President has called this "Outrageous" and says that the Government is preparing sanctions to be put on the Med Islands. President-Elect Knight has also condemned Del Riego saying "How is it possible that this is happening in 2027? This is not conservatism, its not even far right. This is Fascism and it must be stopped. I fully support the Presidents sanctions and when I am inaugurated I shall be sure to continue sanctioning the Med Islands until they stop their cleansing!" The Home Office has said it is giving as much support as possible to those who have been able to escape and will provide shelter until housing can be found.
In other news, violence continues in major cities between supporters of the President-Elect and Right wingers. It is believed two people have been killed so far and Police are struggling to regain control over the situation. Both the President and Liam Knight have appealed for calm however this has been ignored so far. Leader of the NCP Megan Reed has been criticised for not condemning the violence, she has said "People will express their views and frustrations in many ways, this violence is unfortunate but it will pass". She has also launched a formal challenge to the election result saying "The election was certainly not fair, and there are many disputed results and i'm sure I can push for a revote in several areas." The matter will now be handled by the court system which will decide whether to call recounts, revotes or completely annul the election.

President Del Riego has responded to the accusations by the Lame-duck President Cromwell and claimed they are outrageous, he said "We are not forcing anyone to take part in the therapy, we simply give these poor, confused people a choice. If they do not wish to go through with it then they may continue their lives as normal. I am sure these people the Anglo-Welsh have spoken to are in fact their own Government employees. They are trying to smear me and justify more military action. This shall not be tolerated. Cromwell is clearly delusional and broken from his many defeats and the quicker he is replaced, the better. And as for the boats heading for New Tunisia, they are full of criminals and traitors. Not 'political asylum seekers'. I request that El-Sayed does the right thing and stop them in their tracks otherwise we shall be forced to sink them ourselves. And if find that New Tunisia has given asylum to any of those criminals, then there will be consequences for your weak and defenceless nation".
In other news, Authorities have said that tremors occurring in Palermo and Sicily in General are nothing to worry about and have dismissed claims that it has anything to do with a possible Eruption of Mt Etna or a potentially massive earthquake. Anyone spreading these claims are to be reported and arrested for trouble-making and disturbing the peace.

People across Germany not only celebrate the warning shots of TATO Secretary General Arthur Böhm, but also those fired by the privateer vessel Klaus Störtebeker on another patrol throughout the Mediterranean Sea. The ship has begun its own tour of duty along the coastline of New-Tunisia, in cooperation with the Republic's President El-Sayed. The battleship has shot patrol vessels hailing from Med Islands across the bow in their pursuit to find refugee boats. Parts of the 5. Panzerkompanie have been momentarily relocated to New-Tunisia, featuring a modern desert paint scheme which had previously required proper combat tests before approval. The Tank Company has also been referred to as the "Unterstützungsgruppe rheinischer Leoparden in Neu-Tunesien" - "Support Force of Rhenish Leopards in New-Tunisia", referring to the nickname of the 14th Tank Company and the 5th's roots in Germany's Northwest.
Lastly, it has been confirmed that President Nestler's wife and child have been released by the hostagetakers, possibly thanks to Nestler's own input. The President's whereabouts remain unknown and no demands have been made by his captors thus far.

The Mayor of London has declared a state of emergency due to the increase in violence and rioting. It is due to right wing protestors continuing to clash with the left as a result of the election. The violence had calmed down however it has seen an escalation after an allegation was spread online that Liam Knight had given money to the LAL terrorist organisation, the President-Elect has denied that claim and investigators say there is very little evidence to support it. The future President has had to be taken out of London by Helicopter due to threats to his life and the current President and Vice President have been advised to move to their Cardiff Residences however Cromwell has so far insisted that he stays in Buckingham palace despite the violence happening outside the gates. The Met police are deploying as many officers as possible and the army has had to send in two Challenger 2s to stand guard outside the Palace. This is a very concerning situation as there have now been 10 reported deaths. President Cromwell has released another statement saying "It is hard accepting defeat, however we are a democracy, you might be afraid of change but it is necessary to show the dictatorships of the world that is the right system and it does work. You might be afraid of Socialism, but I can assure you, Liam Knight is no Lloydist and will serve the nation as a democratic President. So stop the violence, protest peacefully if you feel the need, but stop the violence and the destruction for the sake of Democracy, peace and the lives of our fellow countrymen".
In other news, it is understood that the Med Islands military has been put on alert with reserves being mobilised, this could be an indication that the Dictatorship is preparing for further military action. This comes as reports that Med Islands aircraft have fired at refugee boats however none have been sunk so far. Vice President Moore has responded to the recent developments from his Cardiff Residence; "President Del Riego, you need to stop this nonsense. We know that your primary objective Is simply survival because you've seen all your fellow dictators fall one by one and I can tell you that if you lay a finger on a refugee boat or on New Tunisia itself then you will face the fury of the entire free world. You might think we're bluffing but trust me, your nation is weak and your military's only strength is its ability to sneak around, the USoN and Anglo-Wales are absolutely prepared to take you down. We already have a plan in place and we know that you have a plan to invade New Tunisia as well but I hope you realise that if you value your position as President then you will rethink it. You see, our intelligence is also quite good. We know that you've been trying to manipulate events even before you started your coup, you've been trying to spread chaos. A curfew has been put in place for London after the Supreme Court declared that a revote must take place in the city after they found significant evidence that the result for the Greater London Counting Area was not legitimate, they have not revealed why they think this yet but it has caused even more chaos to erupt. Men armed with knives and guns stormed City hall and flew flags depicting the sickle and hammer from its windows, the Mayor had been evacuated from the city of London earlier however there are still some people being held hostage including the Deputy Mayor. It is unknown if these men have any connections to Lloydist Communism or the LAL but they are considered very dangerous and city hall has been surrounded by Armed Police. Meanwhile nationalists and conservative have flooded Trafalgar square, some have been seen holding Med Islands flags. The police have been trying to keep a separate crowd of Leftists from coming into contact with those in Trafalgar square in order to avoid even more violence erupting however it is proving difficult. One Newspaper has compared London to a warzone with the Left and Right fighting eachother to the death while the Liberals hide in their homes, it also added that it seemed impossible that a revote could happen under these circumstances. General West has said that he is absolutely prepared to send in the military in order to restore law and order and has said that if the President does not give him the order to do so then he would consider launching an operation anyways. It has been reported that key officials of the WU party and the NLP have been meeting and there have been rumours that some kind of power sharing deal could be being created. Liam Knight's whereabouts are currently unknown as the police are trying to keep him safe after his house in Islington was firebombed, he was due to be inaugurated in two weeks, but that is unlikely now. In an unprecedented act which has shocked the nation, Liam Knight and Jessica Griffin have conceded the election result. It came after a terrible week as the Deputy Mayor of London was killed by far left extremists when police raided city hall. Authorities are saying that the group was not very large and there is no further terrorist threat however the attack was enough to convince Liam Knight to go into negotiations with President Cromwell. The details are not known right now however the former President and Vice President-Elect are to make a statement in a few moments. Right Wing protestors celebrated in the streets as it was announced but Supporters of Liam Knight were left shocked and depressed. A few hours ago, the President gave the order for troops to be deployed to the Co-Capital to restore order and stop the violence completely however he has been criticised for not doing so earlier. General West has said "I would have expected the President to realise the danger of the rioting and looting in the city earlier and know that the only way to restore order was to use the army but he left it quite late, I am thankful that he did come to his senses in the end". Meanwhile Megan Reed of the NCP has been out celebrating with fellow conservatives, she said "Its absolutely fantastic that Mr Knight came to his senses and realised that Socialism is not welcome in Anglo-Wales". The Supreme Court has said it will suspend the ruling for a revote but authorities say that an investigation in alleged Med Islands interference will continue. After nearly a month of violence, it seems that things will start to get better from now on and peace and order will return to the nation.

I urge all our supporters to accept this decision and to not be turned to violence. We must move forwards peacefully and show the world that Democracy is the only system that works. Tomasino received it for his continuous loyal service to the Federation and his frequent displays of skills in the air. Speaking of Corrupt democracy, I never thought the illusion would be exposed like it has in Anglo-Wales, Cromwell has cheated the system and turned his back on the Anglo-Welsh people, this just confirms that democracy is a lie whereas the system here is the pure truth. Ever since Nestler's wife and daughter were released from captivity, both have given their accounts of their captivity and provided the Police with vital information about the hostagetakers, their demands and their intentions. Elizaveta Nestler even went as far to take charge of the situation by actively helping and even offering to be a negotiator just to be with her husband. However, the situation has luckily been resolved tonight, albeit the result was a dire success.
Handpicked expert snipers got dispatched by Proyekt Oktyabr over the course of the week, who were a vital addition to the rescue effort. The abducted President was traced to an old bourgeois house in Kleinmachnow, Brandenburg. He was moved a fair distance by his hostagetakers, which is impressive for a ring of criminals. When snipers covered the building from surrounding hills, roadblocks were set up by the Volkspolizei and members of the GSG 9, the Altenburg Initiative and the ZET (Zwischenfalleingreiftruppe; newly formed counter-terrorism unit to relieve the GSG 9) moved up to breach the building. President Cromwell was inaugurated in private at Buckingham palace earlier, he was joined by Vice Presidents Moore and Knight. A picture is being shared across the media of him taking the oath of office with his hand placed on the constitution, he was wearing a rainbow flag pin as well as the Anglo-Welsh flag which is a clear show of defiance towards Del Riegos regime. Rainbow flags are being flown from many public buildings today such as Downing Street and the Senedd after reports emerged that The Med Islands regime was now putting Homosexuals into internment camps, the largest being in the occupied island of Rhodes. The Med Islands Ambassador has claimed that it is a precaution after a terrorist plot involving the minority was stopped however President Cromwell has called it "Outrageous" and has said that "Del Riegos regime is going from Fascist to National Socialist, I am genuinely afraid that a genocide could be in progress". Leaders of the Anglo-Welsh Protestant and Catholic Churches have been quick to condemn the actions of Del Riegos Government however there has been a spike in anti-Christian attitudes due to Del Riego claiming his actions are done in the name of God. There has also been warning from the military after it has been noticed that President Del Riego and many Med Islands military chiefs have not been seen in public for some time. General West has said that "This could be a sign that they are preparing military action and so it would be advisable that the armed forces be put on high alert, I would also like to request that an Anglo-Welsh garrison be stationed in Gibraltar in order to provide a quick response to any further development." Vice President Moore told DNN earlier that "Another Mediterranean War would be disastrous for everyone however in the end we would win with the help of Germany. If I were Del Riego, I would not risk it."
In other news, the German Embassy in London and the consulate in Cardiff have received large amounts of cards and letters addressed to President Nestler. Most of them are wishing him a speedy recovery and others hope he serves his nation and the world for a very long time. This shows how popular the man is here however NCP leader Megan Reed has said "Herr Nestler has created a personality cult around him, a politician should not be loved in the way he is otherwise he could get away with anything. She was speaking at a joint press conference with President Torres of North Pyrox who is on a state visit. Both Alfonso and Torres claimed that the European powers did not have all the facts and could not possibly know everything that is going on in the Med Islands. However the President did say that it was clear Del Riego was "dangerous and discriminatory". President Torres also echoed that by saying "Del Riego's regime is obviously violating human rights in many ways and is promoting discrimination however I do not think it is as bad as the Media, Cromwell and the USoN are portraying it as." The head of the Mestizolian Armed Forces has said that conflict should be "avoided at all costs" however if it does break out then Mestizolia would "consider getting involved".
The visit from Torres is seen as a strengthening of ties between the last two moderate conservative leaders in TATO.

President Del Riego has rejected claims that Homosexuals are being interned. He told press that "due to a rise in violence and hatred between different groups, homosexuals are being taken to camps so they can be protected and so the general population can be protected as well. In response to allegations that the Military is preparing for war Del Riego said "We are of course preparing for war, it would be stupid if we didn't, it is clear Germany and Anglo-Wales are ready to strike at any time and so we must be prepared to respond. We have it under good authority that conflict could break out in a matter of days and if Anglo-Wales is allowed to put troops in Gibraltar then it could come earlier for it is a clear violation of the agreement that the territory should be neutral". The President also confirmed that he had be in contact with the Mestizolian Government and said "I'm glad that there's at least one other sensible leader around".
In other news, the Governors of all the islands are to be temporarily removed from their positions after the Government introduced the 'National Unity Act', which puts all devolved services under central Governments jurisdiction including State Guard units and police. We also order Anglo-Wales to withdraw all its forces from territory bordering the Mediterranean sea. If you do not follow these demands then we shall have no choice but to launch military action against your nations for working with this terrorist state, we do not wish this so think wisely. As for New-Tunisia, we will launch a crusade against you, and will destroy all heathens that get in our way, so do not try and resist when we send in our troops. The entire armed forces is being mobilised including all reserves and conscripts. Ships are already being loaded and are departing as we speak. It is also believed that Special Forces are taking part in operations in New-Tunisia already but this is unconfirmed. There has been no response from our foes so far but this is expected to come soon.

There were dramatic scenes in Parliament today as MPs debated and voted on going to War with the Med Islands. The NCP and Green Party were both against it while the NLP was for it. WU had no official position. Megan Reed of the NCP said "We went to war with the same nation before under the same leader and lost, we cannot fight a conflict with an incompetent and misguided President, we cannot risk the lives of all our servicemen and women like this. Germany and New-Tunisia will have to fight this war alone until we get a better Leader!". There was much cheering for her position but also shouts of 'Traitor' and 'Fascist' from the Government benches. While the debate went on, hundreds of WU and Green Party supporters gathered in Westminster square to protest the idea of going to war again. They carried banners saying things like "Diplomacy first, conflict never" and "Peace is the only good decision". They started off by singing the Red Flag however went on to sing the banned English Internationale and so Police had to intervene and disperse the crowds. After several hours of debate, MPs made the shocking decision to not go to War, it seems many WU MPs joined the Green Party and NCP to vote against the motion. President Cromwell who was watching from the strangers gallery jumped up and proclaimed "Cowards! Not very far away, people are fighting and dying and your plan is to just sit there and pretend it isn't happening? Outrageous! This nation used to be a proud nation, when other nations pleaded for help we would be there, you have humiliated us! Even Pyrox is sending ships! A genuine Fascist Nation which already is oppressing its citizens has now begun a war of aggression.
