Never left, but thanks!
My name reflects my religion. Am I not allowed to express my own religious views because another religion doesn't like it? What about the views of my demographic? Do they not matter because the so-called god wags a finger at its own followers over it? What about how a satanist (such as myself) feels about Christianity? You don't see me berating every Christian who expresses their faith. Whether or not I disapprove of their belief is irrelevant. It's their belief. Their choice. Not mine. Having the ability to accept satanism means (among other things) that one has reached a certain level of intellectual, spiritual and social enlightenment that transcends the confines of close-minded faiths that call for persecution and hatred.
You think he's the first? I've been getting hatemail about it for years. Only from Christians though. People of other faiths don't seem to have a problem with it. At the very least they don't voice them despite the fact that most theistic religions have their own satan. Says a lot about Christians though don't you think?

Well, i did. Had a nice 6 months hibernation.
You were still the delegate back then.

Glacikaldr wrote:I'll consider this as a line of logic, with the premises leading up to your conclusion for simplicity's sake. I see what you mean by it, but I believe I gain far more from not being religious for myself and my sanity in this life. I could offer something anecdotal, but instead, due to that being so flawed, I will offer something that I believe I have learnt through life experience. If I believe in monotheism or other in this life, then I am absolutely certain that I will lose a part of me in what could possibly be eternity. With that said, even if I do offer myself up to a god or gods, then I am accepting that their subjective heaven is an objective good. There is no part in my being that will accept that much authority being that concentrated. I am not an authoritarian person, and therefore religion has failed me of which is the complete opposite of what religion preaches. Religions claim that they and they alone can be what offers me salvation, and yet the salvation they offer is what I would consider the equivalent of what a god-fearing person would consider hell. I cannot accept that there is a being or a collective of beings that somehow the authority of everything. That is hell for me, if not worse.

In that regard, I am like CoS.

I don't think you can really claim, 'this is what satanism is', because doing so is like being the Orthdox Church claiming, 'this is what Christianity is'; that claim is rubbish because it breaks away from reality.

This is what I consider to be fear-mongering. It's based on circular logic. You claim good is not concrete due to our personal bias, but is religion not also written and preached by people with a personal bias, even if a god or gods themselves came down to preach it? Nevertheless, you have reached the same conclusion I have a while ago; there is no such thing as good and bad, it is fictional. I have embraced this, and instead I have used a background in biological and social studies to claim that, "My faith is in organic life itself being able to self-regulate for our survival, as well as our standard of living." This moves beyond an archaic understanding of good and bad. I think chaos is far more worthwhile than whatever reality religion strives for. Chaos stands to oppose order. In most faiths, some sort of 'heaven'-esque afterlife represents order, but order to me is a lack of creativity. In that sense, chaos is great. Nature is chaotic, but it still finds a balance that is sustainable. Similarly, humanity finds a balance regardless of how much fear-mongering you buy into for the betterment of a highly selective group of people's pockets. Only when we break nature, through interest groups such as faiths, is the balance broken. I believe that if we trusted in ourselves far more we would recognise that this best world we can seek is not one controlled and strangled by order, but instead a world that finds a balance between the two where a higher standard of living is appreciated and sought after. A higher standard of living includes taking into account the needs of others, organic or inorganic, to ensure a healthier mentality towards the world and our universe.

Learn to forgive yourself too. It's very healthy, speaking from life experience.

Why don't you guys ever put links! In the beginners guide or something it says how to put a link!
