It's a pleasure to be back!
How do I join role play?
What's your favorite meal?
Fried Rice
I recommend turning on additional detail on your settings screen. Your corruption was probably really low to begin with, to an infinitesimal rise is a massive percentage increase. And as for the reason that corruption rose at all...
The simulation works in mysterious ways. Don’t question it and everything might be okay.
Edit: My highest ever percentage rise was a 2500 percent increase in my book publishing industry. I have had a few other hundred plus percent increases to.
There's no reason why you shouldn't select "show more stats" in your settings page. Percentages are often alarming. My record is upwards of 16,000%.
Ah yes, this one definitely was classic NS logic. You forced them to resign, presumably lowering Political Freedom, which leads to more Corruption.
I thought they fixed this kind of interactions, did they skip this issue?
The Ambassador to the CLFR and Holy nation of terra
Thing is I never said I wanted to compensate, the option didn't mention it.
You'll have the option to cut taxes more later.
Besides, your tax rate was very low to begin with. Raising taxes by "10%" as the issue said it was only an increase of a little under 0.3% in actual terms. The closer to a particular extreme a stat gets, the harder it is to get it even closer to that extreme.
It might please you to know, however, that it is in fact possible to have a negative tax rate with enough effort.
Libraziland and Aryax
What does a negative tax rate even mean? The government forces people to receive money? Pretty weird, but I guess it makes sense combined with my negative welfare. But yeah, I started the nation when I was still a minarchist, but now I'm aiming for "income tax is unheard of" and "there is no government in the traditional sense of the word"
No, but it didn't mention a tax cut either right?
Yes, I know this is frustrating, but this is how NS works. You really need to get used to its infamous logic to be able to predict stat effects and even then, it's hard to do. I learnt the hard way too.
This is total NS logic where there's no point in trying to find an explanation. I remember somebody involved in issues saying that, in industries, once you are past 0 the negative number measures how opposed you are to that industry. I guess this works for tax too.
Don't ask me what a negative tax rate means. This nation has had taxes over 100% for months now and I'm still trying to figure out how that works.
Like all my stats are super low now and Im like.... when did i turn into a dictatorship when my country was all about religion :p guess it's time to make some decisions to get everyone happy yay.
Answering issues to make religion omnipresent are bound to cut down on civil rights and political freedoms (as well as, to a lesser extent, economic freedom), since in order to benefit one belief system, you must harm others. Same reason why making hardcore ideological governments is bound to reduce freedom. Reduction in economic freedom without a full blown transition to communism

and huge increases to business subsidization also usually reduces economic efficiency, which reduces various other stats since it's harder to pay for them. (It's hard to send foreign aid to other nations when you don't have anything to send, for example.)
In addition, religion in NS is generally opposed to science, which seems to work as an enhancement to other stats in much the same way that Economy does, in that you can have good stats despite low science but it's much harder to do unless that stat is opposed to science in the first place (like Primitiveness). Don't quote me on that, though, since it's an educated guess at best.
Damn that sounds good. Good answer.
The only meal a true communist would tolerate: vodka with a side of depression served on the barrel of an AK-47.
Jk, it's actually pizza. Spinach, mushrooms, and black olives, with alfredo sauce instead of tomato (I'm a vegetarian and I have a serious allergy to tomatoes, which makes ordering pizza... fun, to say the least, but it's really good).
Mmm...
I hate tomatoes! It's not an allergy - and I definitely eat them sometimes - but I don't understand why the world is so fascinated with using them as the basis for everything! They frustrate me to no end
Evil Dictators Happyland, Ammotangandia, Valentian Elysium, and Ewar
Finally, someone outside my direct family really understands! Because it's not just pizza, tomatoes are in damn near everything, and any time I go out to eat, I need to ask if tomatoes are included because most of the time the menus don't mention them one way or another unless they're talking about sauce.
