Sae Narae Class Intelligence Ship is an intelligence ship that began to be deployed in the Navy in 1982. Designed to collect information from the ocean and operate in the waters of faraway countries, the Sae Narae Class still serves as the Royal Joseon Navy's main intelligence ship to this day.
Sae Narae class uses two nuclear reactors as power to facilitate operations without refueling. This allows the ship to sail for 20 years without refueling and to continuously power the various sensors used in the operation.
Sae Narae class is not equipped with much armament, but from 1982 to 2005, it was equipped with one Mk.26 missile launcher and operated eight SM-1 anti-air missiles. Since 2005, the ship has been equipped with Mk.41 VLS 4 cells instead of Mk.26 and is operating 16 ESSM missiles.
