TYPES OF DIPLOMATIC REPRESENTATIONS

· Embassy : An Embassy is an official and permanent diplomatic representation located in the capital of the foreign country. It represents the Federal Government of Whitanchir and acts on its behalf with the authorities of the host country. Its mission is also to facilitate and promote exchanges between Whitanchir and the foreign country, in all fields. There may be a Consular section (with the same functions as a Consulate).

· Permanent mission (or Permanent representation) : Official and permanent diplomatic mission to an international organization. Permanent representatives have the rank of ambassador.

· Consulate-General : A Consulate-General is a diplomatic mission located in a major city, usually other than the capital city, which provides a full range of consular services (issuing passports, visas to foreigners, providing general assistance to the Whitanchirians temporarily or permanently resident in the host country, updating security advice about the local area, ...).

· Consulate : A Consulate is a diplomatic mission that is similar to a Consulate-General but may not provide a full range of services.

· Honorary Consulate : Honorary consuls are not civil servants but individuals who exercise their functions on a voluntary basis. Their main mission is the protection of the Whitanchirians and their interests and the duty to report any incident to the higher-ranking consular agencies. Honorary consuls do not have all the powers devolved to Consulates, Consulates-General and Embassies.

· Whitanchirian Office : It represents Whitanchir's interests in the host country in the absence of formal diplomatic relations, functioning as a de facto embassy. The Office is not formally an embassy, but its role is very similar since its mission is to facilitate and promote exchanges between Whitanchir and the foreign country, particularly in the economic, cultural, educational and scientific fields. Whitanchirian Offices may contain a Consular section.

WHERE SHOULD YOU ESTABLISH YOUR DIPLOMATIC REPRESENTATION IN WHITANCHIR ?

All embassies must be located in Whitanchir Ville, the federal capital.
Consular agencies may be located in any other city in Whitanchir, depending on their geographical, touristic and other specificities :

BEFORE TRAVELING ABROAD :
1. Check the 'Travel Advisory' and the level of vigilance required in the country in question.
1.1 If the level of vigilance is yellow, orange, or even red, take the necessary measures.
1.2 If the country you are traveling to is not listed, contact the Department of Foreign Affairs.
2. Register with the Department of Foreign Affairs on the ITravelSafely platform and indicate your destination, your travel dates and the people traveling with you.
3. Keep the numbers of the embassy and consulate(s) present in the country you are traveling to.

WHEN YOU ARE ABROAD :
1. Regularly consult the 'Travel Advisory' and the associated level of vigilance (in some cases they can change very quickly).
1.1 If the vigilance level is orange or red, be prepared to have to leave the country at any time and stay in contact with our consular services.
2. Whatever the level of vigilance, make sure that you are always well registered on the ITravelSafely platform.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY WHEN YOU ARE ABROAD :
1. First of all, take cover or move away from the danger zone.
2. As soon as you are safe, immediately contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate.
3. Give them as much information as possible and follow their recommendations.
4. If the telecommunications networks are cut or contacting us is impossible, stay calm and do not put your life in danger.
4.1 Unless contraindicated, follow the recommendations of local authorities and then contact us as soon as possible.
