Mental Health Resources
Below is a list of resources that can help when you’re struggling. Please explore them and use them; there is no shame in experiencing
poor mental health! If you do nothing, nothing will improve and if you’re thinking of hurting yourself, it’s worth knowing that that doesn’t have to be the only solution.
A list of international suicide hotlines. If you are struggling with suicidal feelings, or thoughts of harming yourself, please ring your local hotline immediately!
Befrienders Worldwide An international suicide prevention charity which offers support and counseling to those struggling with suicidal thoughts.
National Institute of Mental Health (US) A government institute with loads of resources to help those struggling. Website also available in Spanish.
Canadian Government Mental Health Resources Also available in French.
Mind (charity). A UK-based charity that focuses on mental health issues. Their website is full of information and resources that can help.
NHS 24 mental health hub. A useful portal full of information on mental health issues and how to cope with them.
The Centre for Clinical Interventions. An Australian Government resource, with lots of courses that can help you learn the basics of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Whilst we’d always recommend seeing a qualified health professional, these resources can help you guide your own recovery.
If you are aware of other good resources general or specific, or similar resources to these in your language or designed for use in your culture, please telegram Erinor with as much information as possible about the resource and we will do our best include it here.
It is our goal to make this as useful a resource for South Pacificans as possible.
