A region is a group of nations. Regions are usually organized by some kind of government, which is our case. Also, regions can elect their WA Delegate, which is the nation with more endorsements.
2. What is The Sacred Marian Empire?
The Sacred Marian Empire, also known as SME, is the successor of the former region of The Empire of Mare Nostrum, which was closed on January 2020.
The Government of the Sacred Marian Empire is established in The Imperial Chart, and is divided into three branches: the Imperial Diet (legislative power), the Privy Council (executive power), and the Supreme Court of Chancery (judicial power). The head of the government is the Emperor.
3. What is the fastest way to talk in the region?
Every region has its Regional Message Board, also known as RMB.
However, SME has a regional Discord, more active than the RMB, and where you will recieve a fastest answer.
4. What is the World Assembly and how does it works?
The World Assembly, also known as WA, is the main international body in NationStates, and the equivalent of the United Nations in real life (it was even called UN until 2008). The WA is divided into two councils, the General Assembly and the Security Council.
If you want to be a member of the WA, you can follow these steps:
- 1. Go to the World Assembly page.
2. Click Apply to Join.
3. Check the email account associated with your nation.
4. Click on the link in the email and complete the process.
If you joined the WA, you can endorse our WA Delegate by going to its nation's page and, at the bottom of the page, click to "endorse".

5. Are there any kind of ranks in the region?
In The Sacred Marian Empire you can be:
Citizen: you have a nation in the region
Free Imperial Noble: you have a WA nation in the region
Free Imperial Duke: you are the WA Delegate of the region
Imperial Senator: you are a member of the Imperial Senate
Prince-Elector: you are a member of the Imperial House of Prince-Electors
Privy Councilors: you are a member of the Privy Council
Emperor: you are the head of the government

6. Are there any regional political parties?
Everyone can create a political party, but for now there's only 1 regional political party: the Populares Party.
7. How many nation classifications are there?
There are 27 categories. You can read more in our Government categories guide.
8. I'm receiving a lot of recruitment telegrams, how do I block them?
Do the following:
- 1. Go to Telegram Preferences.
2. Click Block All in Recruitment.
3. Click Update Filter.
9. Can I have more than one nation in NationStates?
NationStates allow you to have as many nations as you want, but only one of them can be a WA member.
Multiple WA nations per player is banned, what causes that usually the WA nation of a player is its main nation. The other ones that are not the main one are called "puppets".
