The history of Opstan starts before the Opstan-Operian civil war. Opstanians were previously called Operians and were citizens of the dying superpower called Opera-Imperium. Opera-Imperium had suffered through many wars and the government was desperate, after the 1711 financial collapse of Opera-Imperium due to the Operian-Danelaw trade war and the massive debt sustained after the great war of 1713 between Kampf Empire, Asendavia, and Angel of Charity. The Operian government decided to raise it's tax rate to 100%, attempting to collect all valuables from the churches, banks, stores, and houses. This begins a massive revolt against the government causing the civil war, and the government too weak to stop it eventually collapses after the final battle of the Youpon divide. The Operian people needed to create a whole new government, one different to the congressional empire that Opera-Imperium was. They still wanted a family system but wanted a sole figure to look up to, so the founding fathers came together to create the Opstanian constitution, making it the first Dynastic Republic in the world. Opstan attracted many farmers and businessmen because of the high demand for property, the new Opstanian government at first owned all the land due to Opera-Imperium also owning all the land in the nation, Opstan decided to sell as much land as possible to raise funds to support the government, eventually the Opstanian government became rich. Not much happens with Opstan, Opstan mostly remains neutral and tries to avoid mass conflict. But then the industrial era hits. Opstan being a massive trade nation, decides to quickly industrialize under the Samatha Dez Vestize administration, creating a massive economic surge for Opstan, but Danelaw-Scandinavia, Angel of Charity, and Sarkis are strong competitors at the time.(still wip)
