Shocking news from Epilo today as word has reached the capital that the North Covenant empire has at last collapsed following decades of stagnation and internal inertia. Whilst little contact had been made between the Coventi and the Imperium over the last few years, it is understood that they were once a noble and proud people who did much to influence global affairs and shape the world as we know it today.
The fate of its former territories remains uncertain however, whilst it remains possible that many new nations could be born from the ashes of North Covenant, it is equally likely that their vast domains will soon be carved up by the various powers with established interests in the region. Prince Gaius Octavius Trajanus, in a public address given from his Palace at Narbo had this to say:

To this end, I am proud to announce the dispatch of the Legio II Augusta, under Legatus Flavius Vespasianus, to secure the former Coventi islands to the North East of here. The operation began in the early hours of yesterday morning and the Legate has now reported that the main and outlying islands have been successfully brought under imperial control. The native inhabitants, known as the Pretani, have lived under the abortive state for years and as such put up little to no resistance to our occupation and whilst not much is known about their local culture, initial reports suggest they’re somewhat akin to our stanch Cambian allies in appearance and language. Considering the immense progress that happy kingdom has made over the past few years, following their king’s submission to Caesar and subsequent marriage to my dear sister, the Pretani people have much to be optimistic about.
The area will be officially annexed as an Imperial province, under the authority of the Proconsulate of Gallia, and pending senate approval, will be governed by the eminent Vespasian. A provincial capital has already been selected, and rededicated as the city of Camulodunum, which will be fully redesigned and brought up to Roman high standards before being declared sufficiently civilised to allow settlement from the mainland empire.”

In other news, following the genocidal Valrisk nuclear attack on the city of Elias, tensions continue to mount between the stahlists and the Confederacy as the Confederate Grand Council last week voted unanimously to condemn the Valyrian Empire and officially cut off all diplomatic ties with the power-hungry state and its puppet nations.
Many, however, believe this to be insufficient and sources within the council have revealed that total war with the Valrisk grows more and more likely, as their behaviour grows more erratic and aggressive by the day.
Despite the Red Rain conflict having ground to an absolute halt, and Roman victory on Harren looking inevitable, Rusinia remains a powderbox ready to explode at any time.
It can only be hoped that the northern barbarians see sense and abandon their goals of total domination and subversion of the independent powers of the world. Surely, they must when faced with the brave nations of the Confederacy? Standing side by side in independent fraternal harmony, showing defiance and determination against the ever enveloping grey monstrosity to the north.
