CURRENCY

The primary currency unit is the Crown (€) which is divided into 24 Ghillan (G). Each Ghilla is divided further into 10 Dennia (d).

COINAGE
Coins of the realm are designed by the Royal Mint, a branch of the Treasury Ministry, and minted at one of five locations. Coins come in 3 grades:
Circulation coins - standard coins for everyday usage
Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) coins - collectors coins made with the same dies as circulation coins but on polished planchets
Proof coins - collectors coins made with special dies on polished planchets
The Mints:
Westport Mint (mint mark W) - Proof special and bullion coins
Aberdeen Mint (mint mark A) - BU special coins, circulation coins
Montesano Mint (mint mark M) - circulation coins
Durandel Mint (mint mark D) - BU circulation and bullion coins
Wakefield Mint (mint mark S) - circulation coins, Colonial coins
A sixth mint located in Olympia (mint mark O) designs and mints contract coins for foreign nations, and proof sets of Colonial coins.

Regular issue coins are available in circulation grade at face value, or in BU and Proof grades at a premium.

Special Issue coins (also known as commemorative coins)
Special issues are typically issued in denominations of:
1 Ducat (5 Crowns) (bimetallic; brass outer ring, cupronickel center)
Half Ducat (2 1/2 Crowns) (bimetallic; cupronickel outer ring, brass center)
1 Crown (cupronickel)
Special Issue coins are available in circulation grade at face value, or in BU and Proof grades at a premium.

Bullion coins:
Bullion coins are minted and issued by the Royal Mint. The face value is in historic denominations, but are sold at market value for the metal used. They are issued in brilliant uncirculated (BU) and proof conditions. While fully legal tender at their face value, they typically never enter circulation due to their higher metal value. They are purchased by both collectors and investors.

CURRENCY

Paper currency, referred to commonly as banknotes, are designed and printed by the Treasury Ministry. Design and engraving is done by the Office of Special Projects and printed by the Royal Bank Printing Bureau (RBPB). The RBPB has three locations for printing; Westport, Cushman, and Wakefield. All three locations print and issue for circulation Grays Harbor, Imperial, and Colonial banknotes.
