The current year in Gandoor is 2029 (Gandoor is always 5 years ahead of the RL timeline) and our tech level is Modern Tech with some slight Post-Modern Tech, primarily in electronics.

The full name of Gandoor is the Democratic Republic of Gandoor.

Gandoor was established in 1587 as the Gandoor Grand Council. In 1603, a monarchy was established and Gandoor became known as the Nzardom of Gandoor, ruled by a monarch called a Nzard. In 1902, a non-violent revolution led to the dissolution of the monarchy and the establishment of an interim government. In 1904, the current constitution was enacted and the modern day Democratic Republic of Gandoor was established.

The capital city is Gandoor City.

The largest city is Osaka, with a population of 9.9 million.

The total area of Gandoor is 8.313 million kmē and Gandoor presently (as of 1 January 2023) has an estimated population of 244.6 million. In the 2025 census, Gandoor had a recorded population of 241.3 million.

The official languages are English, Japanese, and Russian.

Gandoor is a unicameral parliamentary republic, with a Prime Minister acting as both head of government and head of state. The current Prime Minister, Park Sang-Hee, was appointed on 11 October 2024 following her party's (the Gandoor Communist Party) victory in the 2024 National and Forum Elections on 6 July 2024. As of 1957, Prime Ministers are limited to two terms of six years in office. Since the current government was established in 1904, Gandoor has had thirteen Prime Ministers.

The national legislature of Gandoor is the Forum of the Democratic Republic of Gandoor, which consists of one house with 1000 Members. Politics on a national level are dominated by the New Democratic Party and the Gandoor Communist Party. However, both the People's Party of Gandoor and the Gandoor Freedom Group have seats in the Forum.

Gandoor is divided into 8 yons and 1 capital district. The yons are: Freena, Hegmon, Icpo, Juon, Osaka, Southside, Yanot, and Yontan and the capital district is: Gandoor City Capital District. Each yon has 125 Members representing them in the Forum, however, the capital district has no representation.

Gandoor is divided into three time zones, they are: Gandoor Eastern Time (UTC +12), Gandoor Central Time (UTC +11), and Gandoor Western Time (UTC +10). GET consists of Juon, Freena, Yontan, Hegmon, and a bit over half of Southside yon. GCT consists of Yanot and the remaining portion of Southside yon. GWT consists of Osaka and Icpo yon. Gandoor currently does not observe daylight savings, having ceased observing it on a national level in 1957, with the last yon phasing it out in 1985.

The income tax rate in Gandoor is a progressive tax rate, with tax brackets ranging from 0 to 50%.
