Automotive Industry

The Bohemians: Tatra and Škoda, they are the oldest automakers, starting in 1897 and 1895. Tatra makes trucks, but they had made sports cars and luxury cars, while Škoda makes economy and mid level cars. They form the basis of the Czech industry, in contrast the mostly German car industry. Tatra remains independent.

The Inventor: Daimler-Benz AG: Carl Benz invented the automobile in 1886, he later merged with Daimler to form Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes Benz is a major make that commands respect from many. They are known for commercial vehicles, premium regular cars, and full on luxury cars fit for an Emperor. They have Maybach and Smart brands, which make super luxury cars and small electric city cars respectively. They also had bought Steyr and Puch, and both had operated under the Steyr-Daimler-Puch cooperative.

The Giant: Porsche is one of the largest automakers in the Empire. It is known for the entry level Volkswagen line and owns some foreign brands. Porsche is known for its different brands, using the main brand for performance cars, using Volkswagen and SEAT for economy cars, and Audi-Lamborghini division for sporty luxury cars to exotics, and the Škoda brand is also for regular cars with a distinct flair. It also owns the Bugatti Coach and Motorsports S.A in Molsheim, Alsace in the French Kingdom

BMW and Opel are other car makes. BMW is also a motorcycle maker, their cars compete with Mercedes-Benz and the Audi marque directly. They invested in and own many British marques and have transferred some of their cooperative business techniques to the UK.

All makes have collective worker management, executive positions were phased out with worker's councils representing all facets of automotive production and trade under auspices of the companies. Sometimes there is clashes in management between socialist and capitalist countries, even when all businesses transformed into co-ops. States of Württemberg, Hannover, Bavaria, hold stakes in a few of the companies and marques. Volkswagen is said to be owned between the Kingdom of Hannover and Porsche.

In Italy:
FRAT (Fabrica Romana Automobilae Torinae): Based in Turin, owns Alfa-Romeo, Ferrari, Iveco, Lancia, and Maserati; it also owns Chrysler Corporation.
Lamborghini is in the Porsche-Volkswagen group through Audi
Pagani is an independent hypercar make using Daimler-Benz engines. Most others in the Italian states are coach builders.

Foreign makers based in the realm

Ford of Europe: The famous American maker, Ford's European HQs are in Cologne, RW.

Opel: Owned by the American giant, General Motors since 1929. Though Opel and Peugeot have shown some collaboration. Opel is based in Germania. The Opel division sells its cars as Vauxhalls in Great Britain and Ireland.

-Rolls Royce, Austin, Morris, Rover, MG, Mini, Triumph. all owned by BMW Group. BMW has a joint venture with SAIC in China.
-Bentley, Bugatti, SEAT, Scania, Ducati, Navistar, owned by Porsche-Volkswagen group.
-Freightliner, Western Star, Mitsubishi, Daimler-Benz. Daimler also partnerships with Renault and Nissan.

The Empire has one of the most productive automobile industries in the world, due to its marques' popularity with many car owners and the excellent working standards it has through collective ownership. Thus, the gradual of transition to socialist ideas of the workplace have spread through international investment.

This one example of how industry is going, albeit slowly, from capitalism to socialism. It's why the imperial state spends so much on industry, to help reduce dependence on profits. The big automakers have a system of unions as executives and slowly phased out traditional capitalist officer positions.
