The Republic of Syria- is a colossal, safe nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape, ban on automobiles, and smutty television. The hard-nosed, hard-working, devout population of 4.79 billion Syria-ians are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Education. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 14.3%.

The strong Syria-ian economy, worth 242 trillion rubles a year, is quite specialized and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Woodchip Exports, Book Publishing, and Basket Weaving. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 50,583 rubles, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 198,333 per year while the poor average 8,776, a ratio of 22.6 to 1.

Homeowners on prime real estate have been seen dodging giant bulldozers with cartoon characters painted on them, law schools are hurrying to teach the "prank defense" to their students, the government is hounded to provide tissues whenever the feelings of the Dàguó people are hurt, and politicians are often found scavenging bins at night to supplement their income. Crime is almost non-existent, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Syria-'s national animal is the beaver, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Syria- is ranked 315,850th in the world and 273rd in Countries of the World for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring -9.49 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
