The United Kingdom of Brittororum is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Chancellor Sean Dirk with an iron fist, and remarkable for its closed borders, national health service, and devotion to social welfare. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 2.575 billion Brittororumians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Law & Order. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of London. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 42.6%.

The all-consuming Brittororumian economy, worth 307 trillion Pound Sterlings a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 119,352 Pound Sterlings, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 348,675 per year while the poor average 32,262, a ratio of 10.8 to 1.

Citizens know never to accept cookies from strangers, works of historical fiction contain a surprising lack of historical figures, top-shelf magazines feature risqué centrefold spreads of ladies' wrists, and the nation proudly hosts OstraCon to decide who gets free vacations to the Brancaland tundra. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Brittororum's national animal is the Black Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution, and its national religion is Atheism.

Brittororum is ranked 297,528th in the world and 15,953rd in Osiris for Highest Unexpected Death Rate, scoring 23.51 on the Bus Surprisal Index.
