The Republic of Vassiya is a titanic, socially progressive nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape, ritual sacrifices, and suspicion of poets. The hard-nosed population of 10.208 billion Vasians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The relatively small government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Law & Order. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Sîzia. The average income tax rate is 19.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but inefficient Vassiyan economy, worth 433 trillion Auris a year, is quite specialized and led by the Uranium Mining industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Woodchip Exports. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 42,401 Auris, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Vassiya successfully hosted the Trimaris Olympics, crossword puzzles have been co-opted as a symbol of racial discrimination, it takes months to get the proper permits for a child's first tricycle, and citizens have never heard foreign radio. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Vassiya's national animal is the Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.

Vassiya is ranked 205,659^th in the world and 3^rd in Trimaris for Least Corrupt Governments, with 92.15 percentage of bribes refused.
