Violetia has been a region which has continuously evolved and flourished since its foundation in December 2022. We at the Purple Post have decided to take the time to discuss with our new Minister President Lunapoli about where the Imperial Royarchy may end up next?

Pembina: Thankyou for taking the time out of your schedule, Minister-President, to talk to us today . First of all, how do you feel about coming into office?

Lunapoli: I'm excited to be able to play my part in making Violetia greater than it already is. It isn't my first time being the elected head executive of a region, but from everything I have gathered, things are looking a lot calmer than the last time I've done this.

Pembina: Things do seem relatively stable at the moment , I do agree. Can we expect any big shake ups during your time in office?

Lunapoli: Only if the circumstances afford it. As I've stated in my manifesto, I seek to bring the people back to a little bit of democracy, I want to make your voices heard, I want to hear what you think needs to be done, and I want to make sure we'll always be sailing in calm waters. Right now, there isn't much that needs to be done, but I'm always ready to make big decisions, should it be necessary.

Pembina: As the leader of the PDP, 'democracy' is kinda in our name , so I look forward to it! Joking put aside, how do you plan on maintaining an active premiership if some of your Cabinet struggle to be active?

Lunapoli: This will be done just the way I've already done it once during my term, as I instated Limey (New Prydai) as our Deputy Minister of External Affairs. People that have been in office for long will not be replaced because of real-life commitments, but I'm going to provide a substitute power in their place to make sure things don't come to a standstill.

Pembina: Do you feel you have the mandate and legitimacy to rule despite not being directly elected?

Lunapoli: Personally, I would have preferred to have an actual opponent, because that's what makes democracy an actual thing. However, no one has opposed my candidacy, no one has spoken out against me, and no one has openly disagreed with me taking things into my own hands. Perhaps, when my term comes to an end, and if I'm willing to go for another, there will be someone challenging me - we'll see. For now, however, I'm quite confident to rightfully be where I am.

Activity is a word we often use in Violetia. How often can those who are key to our community active? How can we get newcomers to be more active? Is this citizen active enough to be on the map of Terra Violetia?

However we use the word, it has become common parlance in Violetian language, and I know from my own experience working in the Roleplay Chancellery that it is very much drilled into our minds at every working moment.

Activity is an buzzword that is not just used in Violetia. Far from it: activity is the backbone of any region, be it one of the feeder Pacific regions, the Rejected Realms, or a user-created region such as our own. It can often be challenging for governments of any region to instill and "poke around", so to speak, for activity. For any new Minister-President or Cabinet Minister, it is often the first order of business on their intray. At the same time, it is also a word that is often thrown around without any inherent value, a dream we chase that is perhaps intangible.

However, activity is not an intangible fantasy from the Tales of Brothers' Grimm. On the flipside of governments seeking new avenues to have an active playerbase for a region is initiative by players themselves. Initiative is crucial to be able to have a successful region. The Violetian government can hand out things to do on a silver platter, with templates, guidance and every single way to make it easier, but players must have the initiative to be able to really drive that activity forward.

I feel that, what we have seen in May, is a renewed sense of initiative by many in our community, both new and old. Under Norrs, we have seen a revival in updating and remodelling the slightly aging management style of the Chancellery of Roleplay, to help better prepare for Violetia to grow further. The unchallenged election success of Lunapoli also highlights how if someone is able to prove they are willing to put in initiative, that the people of Violetia will throw their wholehearted support behind them. New members have even been more willing to stick around, explore the region, and find their feet, which is something that would've been alien to us all in March.

I know I am only allowed a certain portion of the Purple Post, so in summary, this "initiative renaissance" of Violetia has proven exactly how those wishing to partake in our community can. Activity can be achieved by bringing forward new ideas, no matter how wild or radical they may seem. We are a community build in common agreement and consensus, and I am sure any new ideas would be able to be incorporated with little to no arguments and fighting.

Many regions at this age become shut off to new ideas, as they have a proven system, often citing the "why fix what isn't broken?" mantra. However, they also stunt their growth, not just by player numbers, but also develop a clique community, which is difficult for newcomers to feel assimilated to. It is crucial we make sure this renewal in initiative does not cease in the Summer months. Maybe you could be that right person, in the right place, at the right time, who knows?

There has been significant restructing of the Union of Euralia, resulting in the Titania Treaty with its members, which has set the course of a new single currency and greater cooperation between member states of the Union. The Boreal Sea Treaty Organisation (BSTO) also has been restructured into the Collective Security Alliance Treaty (CSAT). More recently, the Meridis Coalition has also been formed between Tvembov, Also Not FNU (the North Eastern Commonwealth), Matomania and The atlantic seaside (Prena). Though unclear whether this was a direct response to CSAT, the organisation is founded on the basis of democratic co-existence. Pembina has also been in close talks with West Carnolia over the future of Omucon.

What is of more concern is the current civil conflict in Engelsreich, between the governments of Konigstahl and Tannenreich. An embassy seige was reported and many nations are now fearing intervention is inevitable. Tir nan Gaidheal (Gaelland) has also experienced a recent spike in domestic terrorism, and it is unclear whether this is expected to continue, or whether the Union of Euralia will aid in its expulsion.
