Copycat Storms In Ponderican Capitol
- MENDES, DISTRICT OF ASSEMBLEMENT - Days before the inauguration of the president-elect Grace Atkinson and vice president-elect Calneshia May, supporters of the National party storm the capitol building in Mendes DA. Estimated to be around 30-50, mostly unarmed Caucasian men, the group tried to access the building. The Atkinson-May office and the DA Government ordered Capitol Police Forces to shoot if they must. PF opened fire to the crowd after they resisted the continuous orders warning them that they are allowed to use force if the group won't cease. It was observed that the group was chanting racial slurs against the POC police force members. Most of the protesters carried attire and accessories that displayed various symbols including outgoing President Lewis' campaigning logo Lewis2020 and Lewis-Fowler2020, alongside of widely acknowledged hate symbols, such as the Nazi swastika and the identitarian lambda. With PF allowed to open fire, 12 in total were shot after trying to attack policemen and women, with 7 of them losing their lives and leaving the rest injured. The DA government issued arrest warrants for the identified, classifying them as "domestic terrorists" and putting them on no-fly lists. Eleanor Lewis, the outgoing president, showed her support to those who stormed the capitol, calling them "Brave patriots fighting for what is right, which is a battle against a fraudulent election." on her Pekker account - getting banned after three hours passed.
President-elect Grace Atkinson stated that "What happened in the District of Assemblement was an action of an obvious and oblivious version of what we know as a coup of the state. It was disgusting to see all these terrorists storming the building of capitol and risking the lives of representatives which were present during the incident. The identified terrorists will be detained in no time, and will be charged with treason. Domestic terrorists are not safe here, and Ponderica will not be a safe-space for hate." on National Broadcasting Network (NBN). She also stated that when she comes in power, she will ensure the arresting of Ms. Lewis and Mr. Fowler for corruption, treason, abuse of power and defamation takes place precisely as planned. Ms. Lewis' husband, FGTFS (First Gentleman of the Federative States), Daniel Lewis also announced that he will no longer tolerate Ms. Lewis' behaviour as he is gradually leaving her and discontinuing his support for her. It was later revealed that Lewis re-registered as People, leaving the National party as a voter.

NBC Channel 1 - The News
8 p.m. | Presented by Adam Yoshizawa
At 8'o clock, a small 30 seconds long live footage shows the Clock Tower of the House of Parliament announcing the hour, then a sober news opening rolls in and the camera moves in on the set where Adam Yoshizawa, a man in its late 30s stands in the middle holding a few sheets. Behind him is a large pre-recorded "live" footage of Kiyomoto castle, one of Waterpoo's landmark with a view of downtown's night skyline in the background.
Adam Yoshizawa : Good evening ladies and gentlemen, it's today's news on NBC Channel 1. Police assaulted by Russian extremists in Inaba after police tired to disperse an aggressive crowd of ARP supporters that were protesting illegally. Recent controversies regarding new military spending by Medoynia in parliament worries our local defence companies. The Hokosinawa State Attorney opens a fraud and corruption investigation after evidence was found in the Koo-gate affair that she may have participated in a scheme alongside Nanakian nationals during her time as Corean diplomat to Nanako. The plot thickens.
A violent clash between Inaba Police and turbulent Russian protesters occurred in downtown Inaba this afternoon, just a few hundred meters near the State of Adachi University campus grounds. Our Adachi correspondent Iku Oyama. Good evening Iku.
Iku Oyama : Good evening Adam. I'm currently in the Chisokabe park, a few hundred meters from the grounds of the SAU, the State University here in Inaba, where around noon, about two hundred people of Russian ethnicity and other supporters of the current Chernogrosk regime demonstrated violently their anger towards the government's position in regard of the Russian crisis. But not only that, they also gathered up especially here in front of the SAU to protest against the recent declaration of Dean of the International Relations department which stated during a college seminar that the ARP, the current party in power in Russia was inherently a catastrophic occurrence in the Russian history and for the Russian people.
Six police officers from Inaba police department responded to the call of the University after protesters started terrorising students and intruding the campus. Cameras of the police officers and the bystanders have recorded the conversation between the police and the protesters that refused to leave the municipal grounds. One of the police officers reach for a notepad in his car to write something down as the talks were pursuing and received a rock to the head. The rest of the team quickly reacted and ran back to the cars, to take cover. After a few minutes of indecisiveness among the protesters, rocks, sticks and even shoes started to fall on the police cars in number. A few minutes after, the parks surroundings is filled with blaring sirens as backup is in route and already a team of the Adachi State riot police is already on scene. The clash will continue throughout the afternoon until the crowd was totally dispersed.
One student of the SAU was injured by a rock and the policeman that was hit to the head had to receive medical attention, but is overwise fine. The Inaba PD announced they will deploy a special police protection around the campus for the days to come. First interrogatories and apprehensions of suspects revelled that the riot was planned by Russians and Nanakian-Russians studying at the SAU, one was even attending the dean's courses.
Evens like these seem to multiply as the situation in Russia deteriorates. The Minister of Home Affairs calls officers to remain cautious and professional whatever the situation.
Adam Yoshizawa : A worrying situation indeed. The Medoynian parliament, l'Assemblée Nationale, was recently the set of several verbal jousting between members of parliament regarding new governmental expenses. Nothing out of the extraordinary anyone would say, but this time, part of the subject discussed was about Nanakian industry. Jean-Florent Cyr, our correspondent in Roissy.
Jean-Florent Cyr : During the afternoon session debates were heated, especially during the dreaded moment when Ministers must answer different questions from MPs, often on hot debates. Here standing at the microphone is Klaus Müller, Leader of the Opposition. Annoyed by recent military spending, the opposition denounces these expenses stating they would better be allocated to fighting the coronavirus crisis. To understand why Medoynia though about replenishing its military budget in such times, I have asked Henri Besouillères, Professor of Geography at the university Sorbonne.
"Medoynia is behind on the military concern, because it hasn't been a major public concern since already quite a while. Back in the 90's, money was allocated elsewhere to further fight inequalities and cement economic growth but defence was overlooked, and now, now that we are on the verge of a nuclear crisis, finally the government is starting to modernize the force."
Outclassed, the aging equipment of Medoynia is a gift to a lot of nations. Medoynia's army, despite being poorly equipped is a large army, proportional to its size and its significance in today's Europe as one of the figureheads of the European Union. This means that in the case of a call for tenders, the winners obtains a miraculous long term and very large contract. Recently, Medoynia had made its first step in modernization by planning on scrapping parts of its fleet. This enabled Nanakian shipbuilders to be ordered for a juicy US$ 2,350,220,000 for a total of 8 navy vessels. Artherian shipbuilders also rejoiced as Medoynia also updated its submarine roaster, and selected Artherian ones.
But even more recently, our government and the government of Medoynia signed a contract for the delivery of thousands of military trucks and millions of rifles, giving a huge help to our local industries to restart activities despite the economic crisis settling in. But recent backlash in parliament worries industrials as the sector definitely doesn't want to loose its only way to escape Covid-19 consequences.
Jean-Florent Cyr, for NBC 1.
Adam Yoshizawa : Further detail on this contract and a full report is available on our website and social media. Now the investigation around Koo-gate, the tax fraud and evasion affair concerning the now ousted prime minister of Corea (Nation of Hanguk) Koo thickens as the Hokosinawa State Attorney, Michael De Mourvilles opens an investigation on PM Koo's local acquaintances when she was serving as diplomat to Nanako. De Mourvilles believes there might be a network of officials linked with Koo's residency in Nanako that might have provided cover for Koo or even committed tax evasion themselves. Several cases of "tax optimization" among Nanakian nationals that have collaborated with Koo are believed to have occurred but the Attorney General, although not giving up on any possibility thinks that Mrs Koo isn't directly involved in any of theses cases but is currently acting as a unveiling connection between tax fraud criminals. Investigation in ongoing.
Last minute news, parliament has ratified the OPA charter late this afternoon after two months of debates partly blocked by the over usage of parliamentary points of orders by extreme right movements trying to slow down the ratification process. Thank you for your attention, we hope you tune in with us next time. Good evening.
Before the credits is shown the footage of the ratification of the OPA charter. Speaker of the house announces the results with a relieved face while most of the chamber applauds and cheers.

RYUKYUAN ROYAL FAMILY WISH HAPPY NEW YEAR IN TELEVISED BROADCAST
The Ryukyuan royal family have served as the heads of state of the Ryukyu Islands since almost a millennium ago. Since 1970 they have appeared to the commoners of the islands in an address, this usually happens during New Years' Eve but due to the current coronavirus guidelines, this is not possible. Although normally also broadcasted live on RBS 1, the entire address was moved online, with the entire main Royal Family appearing on air, socially distanced of course. The royal family wished a better new year and wished that the guidelines be adhered to.
CORONAVIRUS CASES SEE LARGEST DECREASE SINCE SUMMER HOLIDAYS
Following the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic to the Ryukyu Islands, the Government has continued to work to be transparent in the face of the pandemic, taking the right decisions to contain the Coronavirus. Unlike some governments in the World, the Ryukyuan government has successfully minimised the amounts of cases being reported in the Ryukyus. Fighting back a minor surge in cases, the Ryukyuan response has been overall been successful in its implementation. Only 130 cases were reported today.
GOVERNMENT INTRODUCES NEW SUPPORT PACKAGE TO FERRY COMPANIES
Ryukyuan ferry companies like Kume Line, RKFL Ferries and others are responsible for majority of the human transit between the Ryukyu's different islands, and are cheaper than booking a domestic flight. Due to the lockdown regulations placed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, passenger levels on ferry services have dipped. Yesterday in today's House of Reps session, the Transport Minister acknowledged that the ferry industry is vital and important for the connection of the nation's different islands.
A new bill presented by the Transport Minister today supports the Ryukyu's various ferry companies in a 500 million yen support package to the many ferry lines. This has been praised by the heads of the various ferry lines, the CEO of Kume Line said that this package is vital if the Government wishes the Ryukyuan ferry industry to live on.

And just because he's a worker...
Hickelsbury. 20:12, 12 January 2021
"Excuse me, comrade, do you have a moment to talk about what you can do for the planet?"
Luke began to formulate a response to the man at his door, but was interrupted before he could utter any words.
"You have the ability to help stop capitalism’s destruction of our beautiful environment in more ways than you can imagine! The politicians of the imperial parliament and the businessmen of Greenfield aren’t going to give up their oil stocks without a push from us, the people!"
Luke smiled politely. He didn't bother with these types. He didn’t hate capitalism or the Empire, but didn't like them either. Like most in Hickelsbury, he was just trying to get by, day in, day out. He worked until five, bought ready-made dinner, and returned home, ready to settle down for the night and do it all over again the next day.
He didn't care much for HRA this or climate justice that.
"Hey, I appreciate it, but I'm okay. Thank you, enjoy the rest of your night." Luke began to close the door but was stopped when the strange man, quite literally, put his foot in the door.
"You might be okay, but what about the millions whose lands are desertified? What about the future of our children, our children’s children? The enemy of our future is apathy, I'm sure you know."
"Uh yeah, I mean, I guess I do but-"
“What you may not understand, comrade, is how integral you are to the bigger picture. The Empire and its collaborators just see you as a cog, a line going up on a chart. You and I know you’re so much more than that.”
The strange man exhaled, catching his breath from speaking. “I’m not trying to bug you, I apologise if I’ve disrupted your night.”
The man wore a dark, black cotton coat, and dressed as if he were an off-duty military officer. His hair, similarly dark, wasn’t long, but wasn’t short, either. On the collar of his coat was a small pin, a circular badge of a black star against a deep red background.
He pulled his boot away, seeing if Luke would close the door on him.
"N-no, you're fine. I was just tired, y’know, got off work and everything." Luke said, leaving the door open. The man took his chance, stepping inside, pamphlets in hand. Luke tried to express some kind of objection, but it was too late for that; the man was already explaining his political programme.
Luke sighed. Might as well hear him out. What harm could it do?

Executive Power submits Urgent Consideration bill to the National Council regarding crisis on tourism industry
During a short televised press conference from the Palazzo Ducale, the Doge of the Republic, together with his Ministers of Tourism and Economy and Finance, has announced that he will be sending his first "Urgent Consideration" bill to the National Council tomorrow. The bill, written by the Minister of Tourism comes as a relief for the tourism industry, which has been particularly damaged by the current global pandemic as entrance to Montevento from foreign countries remain heavily restricted.
The bill that will be sent to the National Council provides for almost a total tax exemption and the creation of various lines of credit for companies and workers in the sector, while also establishing promotional and incentive measures for consumers. The law covers accommodation services, travel agencies, transport companies related to the activity of tourism, professionals and tourist guides, tourist centers, gastronomy business, among others, that are paralyzed or have a profits of less than 50% compared to the last year. In addition, the expiration date for the payment of existing taxes or debts with the State will be extended for 180 days and all liens will be suspended. The duration of the benefits must be extended every 20 days by a majority in the National Council, if the initial proposal is approved.
As a particular characteristic of this law, the Doge has decided to guarantee it the status of "Law of Urgent Consideration" (LUC), in accordance with the provisions of article 77 of the Monteventani Constitution, by which the members of the National Council have 30 days, from the day the project is received by the Council, to approve, reject or amend the law, being approved automatically -without needing the consensus of the National Council- if the deadline is reached.
According to Leonardo Nuzzo, Minister of Tourism, "the law is extremely necessary, we have tried to delay these measures as much as possible, but under the current conditions, and future prospects, the tourism sector needs further support in order to continue operating. The measures previously arranged by our Government, although they have helped, are no longer enough, and that is why this law has been introduced".
The tourism sector is one of the main economic activities of the nation, and although the Monteventani economy has recently came out of recession, registering a growth of 7.1% compared to the third quarter of 2020, it still shows a drop of 5,9% if compared to the same period in 2019. Of all sectors, tourism is the hardest hit, with the number of workers in this area falling by 55% compared to last year, while hotel reservations throughout the country reached just 20% in the first days of 2021.

She then gets a call from Mrs. Mo Seung-ri, the Prime Minister of Corea.
- Secretary-General Jeong: Good day, Madam Prime Minister. How may I help you?
Prime Minister Mo: No, I should be the one in service of you. *giggles* I'd just like to congratulate you. You really broke the global glass ceiling.
Sec-Gen. Jeong: Madam, you shouldn't have bothered. [Foreign] Minister Kim sent your congratulatory message anyway. Besides, if it weren't for the Chair of the Yeoju Caucus1, I might not be even motivated to accept the nomination of Minister Koo.
PM Mo: Oh, stop flattering me. *laughs* I never really wanted to be an Assemblywoman, you do remember that I was the Secretary of His Majesty. To be honest, I had more perks in being the Chief Royal Secretary than being the Prime Minister. Anyway, I was not the one who motivated you. You, you were the one who pulled your self to there.
Sec-Gen. Jeong: Nonetheless, I'd like to thank you for your support. A decade ago, Corea was run by just some old men. Today, the women and the youth rose as well.
PM Mo: Well, we did see the first female and youngest Prime Minister ever. We also saw increases among female and under-40 corporate and governmental executives. Our parties are even now led by those younger than us. It is remarkable that we have successfully led Corea to a new era.
Sec-Gen. Jeong: Well, we still need to address women's rights here. I heard about the death of the Seoul mayor, I assume he might have attempted suicide out of guilt to her assistant. I'm planning to initiate a resolution on that.
PM Mo: But I believe you're going to have a hard time to convince Mr. Jung Eun-sang on that. As the minority leader of the Commission, he'll bluff you, especially that technically your side is now the minority as you just left.
Sec-Gen. Jeong: Ah, yes. I do remember that she said the feminist movement was just a woman supremacist agenda in disguise. I'm planning to meet him before he and the other Commission members go to New York.
PM Mo: Alright. Good luck in your endeavors. We will support your initiatives there.

The Delegation also wishes to give notice that the Delegation intends to submit legislation regarding international security at the next sitting of the Parliament. The Delegation hopes it will promote security and cooperation against international terrorist and criminal actions. We will have a productive meeting to talk about international security at the next sitting. This trend of domestic invasions towards various congresses is sickening and we must take action now, so I look forward to meeting with your delegation sometime soon. A fair debate will also be provided as well, as it is a must in order to sustain compromise and unity.
Thank you, and may God bless His courage upon your delegation.

Downed Ka-52 pilot found after days of searching
At approximately 7:35 AM today, MST, Luftwaffe Security Forces and Civilian Air Rescue Service personnel recovered the downed Ka-52 Luftwaffe pilot, according to a press release by the Ministry of Defense. "This rescue would have never been accomplished without the help of the local populace, for which the Luftwaffe, and the Bundesstreitkräfte as a whole, are eternally grateful." read the release in part. It was said that the pilot ejected after his engine had failed at an altitude of 2,470 meters, and was later recovered by a group of Artherian-Russian hunters, who took him in, unaware of the crash and thinking him a lost civilian. The pilot did not declare a mayday since his radio failed along with the engine after the power cut. As a result, all Ka-52s currently in inventory will be grounded until they can find the fault in the engine and remediate it to ensure a crash like this does not happen again.
The pilot is currently in Moscow recovering at Aleksei Antonov Military Hospital.

- President Giestenfaust;
As the foremost military powers in Europa and the world, the Kaiser has seen it fit that our nations should enter into an alliance with one another. Therefore I would like to invite you or your designee to Berlin for talks about a military partnership that would entail cooperation between our militaries on a variety of issues and include a mutual defense agreement and joint exercises. Eventually, the Kaiser would like to invite the other nations on the continent to our alliance, but for now, we see it beneficial that we begin with your nation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs
- Greetings of peace:
First, I'd like to express my gratitude to the Ressian delegation to congratulate me. I have received lots of support from Aressna on the internet, and I also like to thank you and your nation for your interest in me and my candidacy.
Now, regarding your proposal about the establishment of an international policing organization, I think that is a noble idea. I was about to introduce to the Parliament as part of my package reforms, and it would be a directorate in my proposed Executive Committee. Nonetheless, you are always free to present it to the Parliament, and that may be helpful to support the case for establishing the Executive Committee.
Regarding the dates of debate, the Deputy Secretary-General will be acting as the Presiding Officer of the Parliament. You may refer to him your concerns on the timing of the readings, debates, inquiries, and presentation of the resolution.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Nico Muscat | Addressed to: Montevento, Most Serene Republic of
ROISSY -- Noting our long lasting partnership across a multitude of areas, including tourism, the government of Medoynia proposes the establishment of a travel zone between Montevento and the Caribbean outer regions of Medoynia. We are impressed with the speed and the effectiveness of the Monteventani government in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and its vaccination program. The outer regions of Medoynia in question are Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Barthélemy, and Saint-Martin (the whole island, including the Dutch side, are part of Medoynia in RP). All islands have eliminated local transmission of the disease (also in RP) and have the tools required to swiftly track and isolate cases of COVID-19 that are attributed to foreign arrivals.
The travel zone between Montevento and said Caribbean islands will require a negative COVID-19 test at least 72 hours prior to travel, and a COVID-19 test upon arrival. Travelers with a positive COVID-19 test prior to departure will not be allowed to board their flight(s) while travelers with a positive COVID-19 test upon arrival will be sent to quarantine for a period of 14 days at government-supported accommodation. Travelers who receive negative tests at both times will not be required to quarantine upon arrival.
Should this travel zone come to fruition, the Medoynian government proposes an entry date of 18 January for the agreement to come into force. We look forward to hearing the Monteventani government's response.

ADDRESSED TO: Nico Muscat, Minister of Foreing Affairs of The Republic of Medoynia
I have the honour to refer to Your Excellency's letter recently sent to us regarding the Medoynian proposal to establish a travel zone between Montevento and the Caribbean outer regions of Medoynia. First of all, let me express that it is always a pleasure for Montevento to seek and negotiate new opportunities with your nation to continue our long standing tradition of friendship and cooperation, reason for which we are thankful to receive this proposal in such dire times for our tourism industry, that, as you are aware, plays a significan role in our economy.
I inform you that after having received your proposal, it was evaluated by various ministers of the Monteventani Government, including the Minister of Public Health, the Minister of Tourism and myself, as well as the Doge of the Republic. It was agreed that accepting your proposal would work for the benefit of our nations and therefore, I am pleased to inform you that Montevento is ready to implement it, given that we consider that the risk to which the nation is subjected by allowing the entry of citizens of residents of the outer regions previously mentioned would be minimal for our nation.
We are at your disposal in case your Government has any doubts, concerns or other proposals on how to implement this travel zone.

MINISTER OF FOREGIN AFFAIRS
Ambassador Linda Escobar: Mr. Secretary-General, I request would like to request the floor for five minutes to recognize the departure of former Secretary-General, Mr. Marco Kreizler of Montevento.
Ambassador Linda Escobar: Thank you Mr. Secretary-General. Firstly, I want to start off by recognizing the election of Ms. Jeong Yu-na of Corea as Secretary-General for the 2021 term and the election of Mr. Jakobus von Slooten of Hiram Land as Deputy Secretary-General for the same term. As only the second Secretary-General in this organization's history, I am confident Ms. Yu-na will lead the UFN effectively as we confront global issues and strive for solutions. I look forward to working with her and Mr. von Slooten.
And to wrap up my first point, I also want to recognize the elections of Ms. Anamaria Pospishil as Development Bank Director; Mr. Hans Lundenberg as Chief Justice; and Ms. Michaëlle Gauthier WA Delegate.
My second point in my remarks today is to recognize the immense leadership and work of Mr. Marco Kreizler, the outgoing Secretary-General. During the formation of this organization, Mr. Kreizler stepped up to be the sole candidate for the position of Secretary-General. Under his stewardship, he has formulated much of the processes and procedures regarding the operation of this body including, but not limited to, voting, vote counting, announcements, etc. As Mr. Kreizler departs the United Forum of Nations, I, on behalf of the entirety of the Calicambrian delegation, wish him best of luck in his future endeavors.

A Communal Petition | 14/01/2021
Leskyan embassy, Sátomölk, Aressna
Isaias's office was a mess. Papers scattered all over the floor, only distinguishable by the different colours of ink on them. Newspapers, both local as well as Leskyan, hanged from the walls, marked with red-ink circles, as if a conspiracy theorist went through them all. Isaias himself wasn't paranoid, but he was getting anxious, perhaps rightfully so.
There haven't been any news from Leskya for over a month. This was especially unusual, as the General Council's winter assembly should have only recently begun, taking advantage of the colder temperatures to move to the northern capital of Makeo [Mecca] for the season.
But a slow news day wasn't Isaias's concern. His issue laid with a lack of response from the Naturkomo-Makeo Desertist Brigades, in particular, in regards to his request to petition the Ressian government for aid in the Southern Nile conflict.
He flipped through the pages of Akhi Yathmir's recent most manifesto on the conflict, looking for something, looking for anything that might bring some bring him some confidence.
In truth, Isaias wasn't an experienced eksterjo delegate; he had never been picked by his old commune for the duty, and his experience with other communities was, to put it kindly, short. As put the book back on his shelf, and heaved yet another tome, he wondered to himself: why had they chosen him for this?
Tired, he resigned to his desk chair, massaging his temples. It was hopeless. There wasn't any document for him, either because he was in a uniquely difficult situation, or, maybe more likely, because he was in such a basic situation that to any other delegate, the choice was so obvious it was never put into writing.
Isaias's self-depricating hour was interrupted with three knocks at his door. He rushed to answer.
Before him stood Maziz, holding two cups of locally-sourced tea.
"Why are you here?" Isaias asked, checking his recently purchased wristwatch. "It's past midnight."
"I know," Maziz said, letting himself into the room past Isaias. "I'm going to help you out."
Ministero degli Affari Esteri di Montevento | Venerdì 15 gennaio 2021
ADDRESSED TO: Nico Muscat, Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Republic of Medoynia
We are pleased to inform you that the points elaborated and presented by your government in the previous correspondence satisfy Montevento, and therefore we will apply them from the date proposed by you for the entry into force of this travel zone. However, we would like to propose to review some minor parts of it that could discourage travel between our countries.
According to the stipulated conditions, a person who wants to make a trip (round trip), must potentially take up to 4 COVID-19 tests. I am not familiar with Medoynia's testing policies, but in Montevento, the public health system only tests for free those who have a doctor's order to do it. We fear that the cost of 4 tests, coupled with having sufficient means to pay for a quarantine if necessary, would seriously limit people's willingness to use the travel zone.
Therefore, we propose that our respective countries assume the costs of the COVID-19 tests of travelers carried out in the respective territories of each country, which also has the advantage of allowing greater control over the enforcement of this point, through the selection of authorized and trusted testing centers for our governments.
