Nice 😉 Man, I love that stuff. But Eastern Europe/ Central Asia has some real cool stuff as well.
Being an Islander isn’t really a big deal, the culture is real personal, more of a philosophy that can’t really be shared. Our food is dummy slaps though. I cooked spare ribs, I hate myself, but they were delicious. Marinated in pineapple juice for 20 minutes, broiled on hi to lock in those juices...
Yeah. It's also that way about secularism and youth rebelliousness, though we're on the lower extreme for those two rankings.
On a related note, I've finally made it to the top 100 in the world in a ranking (compassion).
Its all kicking off In Baghdad's Greenzone tonight in the past hour alone
Dozens of rockets pointed towards the Iraqi republican palace and the American Embassy and military airbase in Baghdad were going to be attacked by the largest display of aggression towards the Iraqi government and the US diplomatic and military mission by Kita'ib Hezbollah organisation which is funded by Iran.
Iraq's Counter Terrorism Forces hunted down the Iran-backed militia. Capturing many generals and leaders of the Kata'ib Hezbollah organisation in Iraq including dozens of missiles, bomb drones, many KH soldiers and IEDs
As a result Iranian backed (Iraqi sponsored) forces of other militias have surrounded the compound of the ICTF but now the Iraqi special forces move in to counter the new attack and the Iraqi Parliament and the American Embassy is in the midst of it all.
There is attempt to de-escalation after even more Militias have surrounded the enterences of the entire greenzone region.
The militias are standing just meters away from US forces threatning a large scale attack if KH captives are not released despite American apaches flying over head.
You see, all this COVID-19 and police brutality talk almost made me forget about the half dozen ongoing wars in the Middle East and North Africa. But, even as we try to focus on our own internal issues, the world is still ablaze. Hopefully, it doesn't escalate out of hand.
Oh, no matter how much we try, we'll never be white. I try just enough to familiarize myself with the culture, at least of young whites, without attempting to convince myself that I'll be accepted into white society.
I doubt that at times, but then I remember acceptance doesn’t mean pretending to be exactly the same.
However, this is where I think cultural assimilation is a good thing. The melting pot allowed for the creation of things we would never have seen otherwise. Now that we’re celebrating our differences instead of trying to find that common ground, for example, White Brazilians attempted to “lighten up” their black population, when in reality they just “darkened down,” hence why you’ll see racists rant about “White Genocide.” It’s a paranoid delusion. But, begs the question, how would cultural synthesis occur?
