Someone sent me a 6 minute clip of the massacre. I advise all people not to watch it, it's the most horrific and disgusting thing I've seen in my entire life. How could someone be this emotionless and heartless?? I don't remember the last time I cried... Justice will only be served with Allah Almighty. To be fair on the New Zealand PM, she's been using that exact term, and seems determined to see that justice is done here.
Clearly, the evil men who carried out these atrocities are responsible for their own actions and deserve punishment. Yet also, I think it is necessary for western society and western media in particular to think hard about how Muslims and Islam are being depicted, and whether this is fuelling divisiveness and bigotry.

Of course, the largest blame lies with the individuals who were so filled with hate and evil that they carried out these terrorist attacks. However, there's always a bigger picture. As a liberal non-Muslim I am pretty angry about how the media always depicts Muslims in a negative light. As Muslims, you guys must be bloody furious.
