The Earthship sustainable house has been added to the free aid supplies catalog, a building made from natural and recycled materials and designed for self-sufficiency. If anyone needs anything, please do not hesitate to ask.

Here's a picture of a typical Earthship house.

The Relief Catalogue - Free Stuff!

by International peace commission

Description: The relief catalogue is a gathering of cool humanitarian supplies that are to cover a variety of applications. Instead of requesting an IPC deployment, anyone may simply order things their people need from the catalogue. Well, we say anyone, but we mean governments. And this isn't just for war-torn and poverty-stricken nations. Say you live in the Netherlands, and Amsterdam is flooding. Solution: A bunch of floating houses! What if you have a flu outbreak? Solution: Antivirals! Now if you feel there's an emergency supply we should supply, feel free to contact us. Just remember, everything is free, but don't order way too much stuff if you don't need it. We'll drop it on your house if that's the case.

Products

I'm too lazy to log this stuff, but until I actually do, feel free to order anything from this link: http://procurement.ifrc.org/catalogue/

Protein survival bars - dense bricks of high-nutrition food. Though definitely not tasty, they're durable enough to be eaten even after being knocked all over the place, and due to their high density, very large amounts can be shipped in vehicles with small capacities very quickly. The primary survival food, this is what they try to send in the Iris probe in The Martian. Order by volume.

Source: Mostly The Martian, I made this up instead of using an existing product. Deal with it.
2000 calories per cubic centimeter, 400 grams, 7 year lifespan.

Lifestraw - advanced water filter straws. Filters out waterborne bacteria and parasites, making contaminated water safe to drink using hollow fiber filtration, and no chemicals. Can come with an additional .65 Liter sports bottle attached to straw. Basically stick it in some water, even if it looks terrible, and drink.

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LifeStraw
(not including bottle) 31 cm long, 3 cm diameter, can filter particles down to .02 ΅m across, and can filter 1000 litres of water until wearing out.

DRACO - broad-spectrum effectiveness antiviral. How it works is that it detects the special strands of RNA produced by a cell infected by a virus, than bonds with the virus in order to prevent it from doing anything else, while simultaneously instructing the cell to commit suicide, killing the virus. This process prevents viruses from adapting to DRACO and means it can be used against basically any virus. Of course, this should only be taken under prescription from a medical professional, and in small doses.

Comes in small packets of 2 100 mg pills, can be ordered in bulk.

Tacticalhub shelters - lightweight rigid varieties of tents and shelters. Originally designed for military use, tacticalhub shelters are still widely used by the armed forces. They are very durable and capable of great shelter from the elements and long-duration usage, and are very insulating. It is double-layered, with the outside being watertight. It folds into a rigid space frame, having a very strong structure. It is also widely used by the NHS.

Earthship - basically a self-sustaining home, built with natural and recycled materials, and intended for minimal reliance on trinkets like public utilities. It uses thermal mass and natural cross ventilation to keep temperature comfortable without the use of electric HVAC. The walls are actually mostly tires rammed with earth, which can actually surpass conventional load requirements, prevents heat loss, and isn't flammable. The walls are further strengthened by concrete being used in the tires in the ends. Alternatively, earthbags can be used. Passive solar heating and cooling regulates the rest of the temperature, while a natural ventilation system is also used. On top of the tire walls are wooden bond beams with wooden shoes. The roof is made of vigas which rest on the bond beams, and is also usually covered with earth. interior walls are made of honeycombs of recycled tin cans. A silt-catching device on the roof channels any water that collects on it into a cistern. Water is then gravity-fed into a Water Organization Module which will filter it into drinking water, and is to be used in every household aspect except for toilet water. Previously used "grey" water is filtered then run through a botanical cell which will clean it to make it suitable as toilet water. Used toilet or "black" water is sent to a septic tank which stores solar heat to aid the filtering process, then is sent to concrete cells containing plants. Solar panels and wind turbines on the Earthship generate it's own power, which is placed in lead-acid batteries. When the power is to be used, it is regulated and distributed through a Power Organization Module, then used for household appliances. The greywater plants are used in greenhouses to grow food.

Stop Hunger Now Meal: Made by volunteers working for the Stop Hunger Now nonprofit, it's also made and distributed by IPC employees. It's a fortified rice-soy meal that requires a little preparation, but one bag can serve up to six people for a single meal. Unlike the other rations on this catalogue, it would actually be considered food by someone living well in a developed nation. In fact, it's rather tasty, made from a formula of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and a flavoring mix containing 23 essential vitamins. Once packaged, the food is good for 2 years.
