Question; Door knobs or door handles?
Whuch one are more common in your area IRL?
And which one do you imagine being used more in your nation IC?
And which one do you prefer the most personally?
For me, it's handles all the way. B)

In my area, handles are far more common.
IC, probably more handles than doorknobs
I prefer door handles more often, but sometimes doorknobs are better

Roleplay Directory
of The Western Isles

....

The Western Isles is a region with a broad, complex and active role-play environment, which is centred on our map. To help you get acquainted and to keep you informed about the happenings of TWI, there are a number of resources created and updated for the benefit of map nations. This - the RP directory - is one of those resources and was an excellent dispatch run by Ostehaar for much longer than I have administrated it.

This dispatch lists active RPs, international organisations and collaboration threads that you may want to take a look at. Whilst I’ll keep an eye out for new threads, you can help me by letting me know about new RPs as they're opened and about changes to ongoing RPs. Please do so via TG or by tagging me in the RMB post in which you announce or publish your RP (make sure to include a link to the IC and OOC threads). These are threads that typically are restricted to members of The Western Isles so if you are not on the map yet or not in The Western Isles contact the RP manager/OP before you write anything in either the OOC or IC threads.

....
....
....Roleplays
....

Key:
The terms below indicate the status conditions of different roleplays (RPs) in the region.
  • 'Planning' - RPs that are not fully active yet or require constant coordination, and are still being discussed in the OOC thread. You may freely join the discussion.

  • 'Open' - RPs that require no formal application, and usually have no OOC thread. You are free to post in these RPs, but it is still recommended to inform the OP of your participation before doing so.

  • 'Semi-Open' - RPs that are open to all players but require application or some form of initial coordination with the OP. Before posting in the IC thread for the first time, make sure to coordinate your plans in the OOC thread with the other players. If there is no OOC thread, contact the OP via TG and discuss your involvement.

  • 'Closed' - RPs that are open to some players, as indicated by the OP or in the OOC thread. Never post in these RPs without specific permission from the OP. You may freely post in the OOC thread.

I don't think C6 is like a thing anymore. Same goes for CU.

So many C'ted nations. So many inactive ones. So much changes in history of actives ones like me, Domanania and Wellsia.

Unless Aizcona who I think was talking of a pan-Argus organization decides to reboot CU.

Combination. Knobs in the house and handles on the entry way, especially in newer homes. My 32 year old home has all knobs

Door handles obviously.

Who even uses those round things? You can't hold a stuff in your hand while trying to open a knob.

I will keep that dead boat afloat. I swear it. For the sake of so many past members that passed on.

The CU still has a substantial number of members left, I think.

Handles are more common I think

I don't have one

Handles. Knobs are only to be used for lascivious acts. I agree with AM, handles are vastly superior when you're carrying things. I've used legs, feet, elbows, hips, pretty much anything (even the stuff I'm holding) if I'm coming into the house/room with a large amount of stuff in my hands. Can't do that with doorknobs

I don't think I have ever encountered doorknobs (except at front doors but those are usually decorative and can't be used to open the door; you do that with your key and then you push). Here handles are used, although I have seen differences in the position of the handle. Apparently some people prefer them vertically instead of horizontally.

IRL, I have to deal in doorknobs.
IC, I haven't come up with a solution, but I'd figure handles are more common excluding very recent high-end homes that take knobs for "aesthetic".

An evil amount of people read Nhoor's main factbook :o

Where I grew up in south Florida it was usually handles, where I am now it’s mostly a pretty even combination. Outside the US I’ve seen mostly knobs or latches

We have knobs up here, though I imagine the Handle is more popular in havalland, easy to grab and they look nice, plus some have fancy designs.
I personally like the door handle more.

Funny my grandmother’s house has a front door with a handle while the rest are knobs, my aunts both live in houses with all handles.

anecdotally I think you really only see knobs on interior residential doors, if at all. Some will shop up randomly in older buildings as well maybe. My dad collected a certain type of doorknob and installed them in the house I grew up at though so that might somewhat skew my findings.

OVERVIEW

The Royal Serpens Land Yacht Squadron (RSLYS) is a yacht club located in Fort Charlotte, Serpens Land. It is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Serpens Land, being founded in 1912.

The Royal Serpens Land Yacht Squadron is known for hosting several sailing regattas throughout the year. These events most notably include the Broughton Bay Cup Regatta held in late April and the Fort Charlotte Week Regatta held in August.

HISTORY

The Royal Serpens Land Yacht Squadron was established in 1912 in Fort Charlotte with the name "Fort Charlotte Yacht Club". It can trace it's origins back to a group of amateur sailors who organised a regatta to celebrate Dominion Day.

Early regattas held at the club included sailing yacht races and rowing races. During this time, it was popular for sailors to build their own sailboats to compete against other club members.

In 1932, the Fort Charlotte Yacht Club was formally granted royal patronage and changed their name to the "Royal Serpens Land Yacht Squadron". In the same year, the club held the first Fort Charlotte Week Regatta. The regatta drew competitors from across the Western Isles.

Until 1936, the club's primary clubhouse was located along the Fort Charlotte waterfront. In 1936, the Royal Serpens Land Yacht Squadron purchased property in downtown Fort Charlotte from the newly defunct British Western Isles Company.

FORT CHARLOTTE WEEK REGATTA

The Fort Charlotte Week Regatta is a yachting competition held in Lonsdale Inlet. It runs over the course of a week with racing held every day. It is open to boats of all sizes, with boats being separated into different fleets based on size and performance. The regatta attracts competitors from countries across the Western Isles; most international competitors enter the prestigious high-performance fleet in fast, modern racing yachts.

Absolutely sailing is supposed the Tsunterlands big sport.

Also between the UEFA, Ains' Car Rally and now this I love how TWI has become a sports RP region over the last two months or so

My Condolances to all you knob-people.
