True, but we may have an Islamic Republic of Iran Navy situation here, where you have a small but decent navy, but you bolster it with armed civilian vessels. Given the budget though, I'd say that isn't what they're going for.
They are trained to fish and slap them slimies on their enemies
Mate,
Militaries can be hard, hell, I'm shi* at almost anything related to armies. But tossing a random number up and acting as it's fine isn't a great way to get an army up if you ask me.
As I already said, which I deeply recommend doing; try to actually calculate even basic budget and equipment stuff, not just for your air force, but for the armed forces as a whole.
I will just end up like
The numbers in both personnel and ships, alongside the budget, don't really show me that's what the lad was going for.
Of course I might be wrong, but I heavily doubt that this case would be like the Sepah navy
WE HAVE THE MEATS
I just want to give you an in-region point of reference via myself. To quote my Air Force factbook "... the United Republics Ministry of Defense claiming to have over 300 aircraft. The United Republics Air Force has 202 combat aircraft in service, with the majority being 125 Torchwood F/A-7 Gargoyle and 47 Gaelfighter Tempest."
Or to nail the point in further, my Navy which has, as far as I've recently counted, under 70 combat vessels, likely under a hundred to account for other duties the navy has to perform.
And I'm considered to be at the very least a middle power within Gael, let alone the Isles at large. And that's for a nation with 27 million inhabitants and a $45 billion defense budget.
The United Republics Air Force (Dutch: Republikeinse Luchtmacht, French: Armée de l'air Républicaine) is the air and space force of the United Republics Defense Forces. It was formed in 1914 as the Service Aéronautique, a service arm of the Doraltic Army, and then made an independent military arm in 1937, becoming the Doraltic Air Force. The number of aircraft in service with the United Republics Air Force varies depending on the source, with the United Republics Ministry of Defense claiming to have over 300 aircraft. The United Republics Air Force has 202 combat aircraft in service, with the majority being 125 Torchwood F/A-7 Gargoyle and 47 Gaelfighter Tempest. As of 2020, the United Republics Air Force employs a total of 10,114 regular personnel. The reserve element of the air force consists of 10,187 personnel, known as the Air Force Operational Reserve.
Like the remaining Doraltic Uniformed Services, the chief of the Air Force's staff is a member of the United Republics Joint Chiefs and is subordinate to the President and Minister of Defense.

The United Republics Navy is the main power-projecting force and maritime arm of the United Republics Defense Forces. It is one among the five service branches of the United Republics military. It is a large navy in the Western Isles and one of its most powerful as it is one of the few that actively operate fixed-wing aircraft carriers, the nuclear-powered Union and Prosperity.
Centered on an extensive history of French and Dutch naval history, the United Republics Navy is the oldest formal branch of the United Republics armed forces, with precursor forces being related to Doraltia throughout history, especially the Empire of Corinthius. The United Republics Navy is composed of five main components, the Surface Warfare Command, the Submarine Command, the Marine Corps Command, Naval Aviation Command, and the Coast Guard. The United Republics Navy is central to Doraltic defense policy and the centerpiece of its Southern Sea strategy, exemplified by the frequent deployments of its carriers to the Southern Sea.
The United Republics Navy is a blue-water Navy with the capability of significant regional power projection through the use of the Union class carriers, though it has only truly exercised this power within the Southern Sea, part of the United Republics' narrow, Gael-centric, foreign policy vision. For the most part, the Navy is focused on defending the coasts and shipping of Dormill and Stiura and its allies in Gael and the Southern Sea, even going as far as to lease space in the Charbagnian capital city of San Amaro to base several warships for easier access to the Southern Sea.
By law, the Navy also has a special obligation to the defense of the Territory of Sawneeak Atoll from the other claimants to the area, dedicating a permanent naval force to New Aquitaine for such ends. Otherwise, the Navy prefers to utilize its assets to respond to specific threats rather than dedicate the effort to making rigid units, thus task forces of the Navy (excepting Sawneeak) are created and disbanded on an ad-hoc basis.
Given that, however, the Navy still employs the use of Fleets as large-scale units, mostly to separate the expeditionary naval forces, such as the Union and Prosperity and their Carrier Battle Groups, from the purely defensive forces.
The chief of the United Republics Navy staff is Admiral Landon Berger, and as of 2020 the Navy has 26,560 military personnel and 2,500 civilian staff. The United Republics Navy is organized into five service groups:
Surface Operations Command - commanding the Navy's surface warships
Submarine Command - commanding the Navy's submarines
Naval Aviation Command - commanding the Carrier-based and Land-based Navy aircraft
Coast Guard Command - commanding the Navy's force of patrol boats as the national Coast Guard, additionally commands security forces for Sawneeak Atoll and Duinen
Marine Corps Command - commanding the other navy security forces
Nuclear Aircraft Carrier (CVN)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Union CVN-10, Prosperity CVN-11
Conceptualized as the successor to the naval nuclear engineering program of the Defender class submarine and the Vichdall class carrier, the Union class represents the centerpiece of the modern United Republics Navy. Each nuclear-powered CATOBAR carriers represent one of the largest at-sea fixed-wing airpower of any other navy in the Western Isles.
Oranje-class
Landing Platform, Dock (LPD)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Helle LSD-3, MVR St. Cosmas (ex-Eppen LSD-2)
Once the backbone of Doraltic amphibious capabilities, the Oranje class has been phased out of service in favor of the incoming Hero class, though two ships of the class remain, Helle and the Hospital Ship St. Cosmas. Helle remains capable of supporting Marine operations for the United Republics but has acted in a limited role since the 2010s.
Hero-class
Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Hero LHD-4, Tyrell Delaney LHD-5, Sloan Benson LHD-6 (On Order)
Part of the wider 2010 Naval Construction movement, the Hero class was built to replace and upgrade from the Oranje class in every way. Rising higher from the water line and supporting a larger Marine force, the Hero will represent the current pinnacle of Doraltic marine capabilities, even possibly reintroducing Marine fixed-wing aviation.
Mont Dufor-class
Strike Cruiser (CG)
Ships of Class: Mont Dufor CG-9, Mont St Elias CG-10, Mont Rangi CG-11
Built as the direct successor to the Arette class cruiser, the Mt. Dufor class were commissioned to answer for the lack of a large missile platform in the Navy, focusing on modern missile systems centered on the Diamondback cruise missile and electronics to provide robust anti-ship, anti-air, and land strike capabilities. The Navy intends to keep the class in service for longer than they were designed for but there are concerns about their fate and the design that will go into the succeeding cruiser class.
Chery-class
Guided Missile Destroyer (DDG)
Credit to Miklania for the drawing.
Ships of Class: Chery DDG-23, Veaux DDG-24, Altagene DDG-25, Ville Kapolder DDG-26, Montrelais DDG-27, Zuid Kapolder DDG-28, Launey DDG-29, Cour Rouge DDG-30, Veldzicht DDG-31, Rattenburg DDG-32 (Fitting Out), Reading DDG-33 (Under Construction), Sud Alban DDG-34 (Ordered)
The Chery class is a truly modern destroyer in every capacity, she was built to be multi-mission, but was gradually reigned in around air and ballistic missile defense role, since the construction of the leading ships of the class, the design was updated to restore general-purpose and anti-submarine capabilities with multi-mission modularity.
Lukas Monet-class
Frigate Fast, Helicopter (FFH)
Ships of Class: Lukas Monet FFH-11 (Decommissioned, In Reserve), Rémy de Launey FFH-12 (Stricken, Sold), Peter Hart FFH-13 (Decommissioned, In Reserve), Aric Vroomen FFH-14 (Stricken, Sold), Travis Agthoven FFH-15 (Lost), Haydn Lapointe FFH-16 (Stricken, Sold), Raphaël Van Horn FFH-17, Achille Van Houttum FFH-18, Enzo Van Kapolder FFH-19, Rudyard Abelen FFH-20, Ed Smit FFH-21, Lamar De Witte FFH-22
Designed as the first generation of helicopter-carrying missile frigates, the Lukas Monet Sr. class Frigate, named for the famed Doraltic General during the War of the Triumvirate, was the mainstay of the United Republics Navy air defense capabilities and was present among multiple Gaeltic navies in its heyday. The class is praised for its then relatively cheap cost paired with the use of high-end technology. Up until the 2010s, the Lukas Monet Sr. class was the backbone of the United Republics Navy until the introduction of the Gael class. The class has started to see decommissioning in Doraltic service but experts believe that the service life of the class can be extended by upwards of ten years with relatively inexpensive modernization.
Gael-class
Frigate Fast, Helicopter (FFH)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Gael FFH-23, Argus FFH-24, Raedlon FFH-25, Eenheid FFH-26, Dans le vent FFH-27 (Undergoing Sea Trials), L'Eternité FFH-28 (Under Construction), Je Maintiendrai FFH-29 (Ordered), De trommel FFH-30 (Ordered), Nog acht minuten FFH-31 (Ordered), Fire Across the Heavens FFH-32 (Ordered), Of Duty and Obligation FFH-33 (Ordered), Leave Her to Heaven FFH-34 (Ordered)
The Gael is a class of sophisticated corvettes designed and built for the United Republics and for export partners across the Western Isles. The class is designed to function as a versatile, multi-role surface combatant in almost every field of naval warfare, from anti-ship and submarine to anti-air and land strike. Though smaller than the preceding Lukas Monet Sr. class, the relaxed crew needs of the ship paired with its robust electronics and data connectivity makes it a vital component of the modern, interconnected information space.
Defender-class
Nuclear Attack Submarine (SSN)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Defenseure SSN-1, Counseli SSN-2, Championne SSN-3, Gardienne SSN-4, Paladin SSN-5, Surveillante SSN-6
The original center of the United Republics' nuclear warship project, the Defender class was designed and constructed on the notion that the surface warfare elements of the navy need persistent and long-term submarine support while operating away from friendly waters; whereas the Navy also sought a means of persistently securing Doraltic interests even if the surface combatants were unavailable.
Kapolder-class
Nuclear Attack Submarine (SSN)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Kapolder SSN-7, Ardeda SSN-8, Gaule SSN-9, Batavia SSN-10, Zwolle SSN-11, Perot SSN-12 (Commencing Sea Trials)
Designed as the second generation of Doraltic nuclear submarines, and intended to fully replace the Defender class, the Kapolder class of nuclear attack submarine is expected to mark the next step in Doraltic naval capabilities. Collaboration with IDNC on designing and constructing the new reactor has reduced the cost of the class when compared to the Defender-class. The last boat planned, Feerwerd is expected to begin service in 2024.
Heracles-class
Mine-countermeasure Ship (MCM)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Heracles MCM-13, Janus MCM-14, Marcus MCM-15, Silvius MCM-16, Cincinnatus MCM-17, Ulyesses MCM-18
Equipped with sonar and underwater drones, the Heracles class provides the United Republics Navy with minehunting and minesweeping capabilities, crucial for maintaining control in the Argean Straits and off Doraltic coastal waters. Though aeging and overlooked for future patrol boat programs, the Heracles fills a role of significant relevance and will remain in service until the mid-2030s at the earliest.
Bastion-class
Fast Combat Support Ship (AOE)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Bastion T-AOE-6, Rempart T-AOE-8
Built to keep up with the speed of Union and its strike groups, the Bastion class provides fuel, stores, and ammunition to the United Republics Navy's mission critical assets anywhere at sea. The class is a part of the Merchant-Auxiliary Command, the civilian uniformed organization responsible for supply missions for the wider Doraltic military.
Seine-class
Replenishment Oiler (AO)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Seine T-AO-7, Roi Soleli T-AO-9 Sonnae T-AO-10
In service since the late-70s, the Seine provides replenishment services to most of the United Republics Navy wherever the use of the Bastion class is not warranted. Slated for a 2024 retirement, the class has led an illustrious career providing essential resources to the navy at sea for 40 years.
Côte nord-class
Expeditionary Mobile Base (ESB)
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Côte nord ESB-1
Built around the need to provide expanded capabilities to support special forces missions, counter-piracy/smuggling operations, maritime security operations, and mine clearance, as well as humanitarian aid and disaster relief missions parallel to the amphibious warships of the Oranje and Hero classes. The ship was designed for operations in the Southern Sea and the Mesder Sea in low-intensity operations directly under military command. The ship is currently the most engaged in peacekeeping operations in the Southern Sea operational region, frequently providing Doraltic aid abroad through its robust marine capabilities. This ship is also equipped with a robust command center, allowing it to serve as a flagship when needed by the Navy.
Victor Gerwerder-class
Submarine Tender
Image is a stand-in
Ships of Class: Victor Gerwerder AS-1
The ship provides food, electricity, water, consumables, spare parts, medical, dental, disbursing, mail, legal services, ordnance, and any parts or equipment repair that a submarine may require. To accomplish this, the ship has a physical plant similar to that of a small town, including 53 different specialized shops, making the ship capable of servicing up to four submarines at once.

I'll throw in some advice that I've been personally using with both D&S and French Charbagnia to determine the makeup of a military. It boils down to three fundamental and related questions.
1. What do you need your nation's military to do? Do you need it to simply defend the homeland, or do you need to use it to project your power abroad. If the latter, how far? If the former, against what/who?
2. What do you have access to in order to build your military? How much manpower can you tap into, what kind of equipment do you have available, what is the general quality of both?
3. What are your limitations? Is there some kind of treaty of law that prevents your military from having or doing something? How about other restrictions based on your internal culture or politics? What about any monetary restrictions?
You should be able to get the most fundamental details of your military down on paper with this, from there it's adding on details.
Both are good if you ask me. That's how all international sports tournaments should be organized to encourage cooperative dialogues
Is it weird nobody in Trigel dies from heart disease and 2.7% die from bungee jumping?

NS stats are weird. There is a reason we don't use them for RP :)
That would be cool in RP though. Bungee time- oh no I'm gonna die
