The Kingdom of the Woldlands, informally Ivielonia, and known natively as Li Houtepajais, is a constitutional monarchy in The Western Isles, situated in the northern stretches of Gael. It is bordered by The State of Ostehaar to the east, The United Republics of Dormill and Stiura to the south and west, and the Argean sea to the north. The capital/largest city of the Woldlands is Therouln on the River Blumoÿdalles and the second-largest city/royal capital is Drapô-sin-Chaminn on Chaminn Bay in-between the Bad Fontine peninsula and Cape Culot on the northern coast.

Etymology

Woldlands
from Wold, or a “forested highland”

Houtepajais
from Hout + pajais, meaning "wooded country"

Iviêlloon
from Hyvêir, "winter"

Ivielonia
from Iviêlloon

Geography and climate

The Woldlands is the northernmost country in Gael. It faces the rough and frigid Argean Sea to the north. This coast features rolling hills and dozens of cliffs, capes, bays, islands, and peninsulas. Most of the nation's inland is comprised of various distinct uplands, eventually fading off into higher mountains in the east into Ostehaar and low plains in the west into Dormill and Stiura. Almost the entirety of the country is forested or consists of heathland or bocage (mixed woodland and pasture). Most of the Woldlands' population is concentrated on the coasts and in the river valleys of Blumoÿdalles, Tchestêtoûre, Corbelfêls, and Badens. The coastal regions can be described as having temperate oceanic climates; summers don't reach high average temperatures, but winters can fall below freezing temperatures, but with averages quite above the freezing mark. Precipitation is plentiful year-round. The majority of the inland also has a typically oceanic climate, affected by the Argean Current.

The Isles Federation of Association Football is an association which describes itself as an international governing body of association football, futsal, and beach soccer. The IFAF is responsible for the organization of football's major international tournaments, notably The Isles Cup which commenced in 1928 and the Women's Isles Cup which commenced in 1985. Founded in 1902 to oversee competitions between various nations across the wider region, its initial headquarters was in Norstham before it relocated to the International District in 2017, where it remains to this day. Its membership contains 62 national associations as of 2019, grouped into 4 regional confederations: the Gael Football Association, the Union of Argean Football Associations, the Mesder Sea Football Confederation, and the Confederation of Eastern Football Associations.

History
The general history of the IFAF begins with the introduction of Association Football by English colonists to various states and colonies in the Isles in the 1870s, bringing the Laws of the Game with them. The first games of association football were played in the Thromsaan colony of York around 1886, though other nations continue to dispute the claim of the first game played in the Isles. From Thromsa, the game spread across Raedlon, establishing itself into the cultures of many nations, most notably Norstham, a continuing football powerhouse in the Isles. As English settlement reached its peak in the early 1900s, Football became entrenched in many more nations, with the first international matches played between Dormill and Stiura's Cour Rouge Athletic Club and Ostehaar's Haalban City Football Club in 1900 and various other teams across the Isles.

The first international football organization was formed in 1902 between several nations, which became the Isles International Association Football Conference, and though it has been defunct, it's impact remains seen as its members are among the top nations featured in the modern IFAF. Other international associations, such as the Gael Football Association and the North Argus Football Union, would also be formed in early and mid 1900s. In 1928, several nations formed the Isles Cup, a closed international football tournament between nations that would be carried over into the modern cup. Following the Imperial War, and the general revival of the game, these international associations and their representing nations came together to form the IFAF in Norstham to better facilitate international tournaments across the Isles as a whole.

In 1980, the IFAF began a major restructuring of its associations to make the process of organizing tournaments easier on the organization, creating or expanding on all of the organizations that were members. In the end, the 4 modern confederations were formed, with berths to the Isles Cup distributed based on each Confederation's membership. In the 1984 IFAF summit, the organization also established the Women's Isles Cup, to start in 1985, which plays concurrently with the Isles Cup.

In 2017, the IFAF officially moved its headquarters to the now stabilized International District to avoid controversy between the member states. It remains there to this day, coordinating friendlies and tournaments on an internaitonal scale.

Confederations

The IFAF is divided into 4 regional Confederations for ease of planning, they are: the Gael Football Association, the Union of Argean Football Associations, the Mesder Sea Football Confederation, and the Confederation of Eastern Football Associations. Each Confederation has its own unique history in Football, and each are crucial to the function and continued success of both the IFAF and The Beautiful Game.

Confederation of Eastern Football Associations
Headquarters: Carmo, Corindia
Membership: 12
Isles Cup Berths: 8
Most Successful Team(s): -tbd-

The Confederation of Eastern Football Associations is the second youngest of the IFAF's Confederations which was formed in the Restructuring of 1980. It additionally covers the widest geographic reach of the Confederations, representing associations from San Jimenez to Corindia and New Aapelistan. Its headquarters are in Carmo, which was selected among its members during the 1980 Restructuring. Corindia was the most recent host of an IFAF Cup, hosting the 2018 Isles Cup. It's most successful team is -NATION-, having won X Cups.

Gael Football Association
Headquarters: Kapolder, Dormill and Stiura
Membership: 16
Isles Cup Berths: 8
Most Successful Team(s): -tbd-

The Gael Football Association is the oldest continuous Confederation of the IFAF, having been formed between Gael's nations in 1930. It was also the least affected by the 1980 Restructuring, removing the Alteran Republics and adding Townside to its membership since then. Its headquarters are in Kapolder, Dormill and Stiura which is the most recent of the GFA's headquarters; it has formerly been headquartered in Nolon City, Noronica, Gaungfeng, Orsandia, and Prohare, Ostehaar. Ainslie was the most recent host of an IFAF cup, hosting the 2015 Isles Cup. Its most successful team is -NATION-, having won X cups.

Mesder Sea Football Confederation
Headquarters: Norðurhavn, Norstham
Membership: 17
Isles Cup Berths: 8
Most Successful Team(s): -tbd-

The Mesder Sea Football Confederation is presently the smallest of the IFAF's Confederations, representing only 9 members. As a result, it only has 4 berths to the Isles Cup. The MSFC is headquartered in Norðurhavn, Norstham. Norstham was the most recent host of an IFAF cup, hosting the 2017 Isles Cup. Its most successful team is -NATION, having won X cups.

Union of Argean Football Associations
Headquarters: New Libang, Athara Magarat
Membership: 14
Isles Cup Berths: 8
Most Successful Team(s): tbd

The Union of Argean Football Associations is considered the Confederation of the teams with the greatest potential to make great strides in future IFAF Cups. It was adjusted in 1980 to finally include the Alteran Republics, which had been a member of the GFA alongside with Noroncia until then. Ever since 1980,New Libang has been the headquarters of the UAFA, although calls have been made to relocate the confederation to the nearby International District in recent years, though the IFAF has made no statement as to whether it would move the UAFA's headquarters. The UAFA is home to the most recent champion Brulafi. The most recent host of an IFAF cup from the UAFA was Corresia, hosting the 2011 Isles Cup. Its most successful team is Bruladi, with 5 cups.

The Western Isles Cup
The Western Isles Cup (sometimes simply called "The Isles Cup") is a yearly Men's Association Football international tournament where 32 national teams from the IFAF's 4 Confederations come together to determine the best team that year. The winner of that year's Cup is awarded the Isles Cup, with other awards also given for performances throughout the tournament. The host of each year's tournament is selected by a simple majority vote of the IFAF's members in the months preceding that year's competition. Although the Isles Cup has existed for 90 years, there have only been 78 Cups to date, interrupted by the Imperial War (1941 - 1953). Below is a brief history of the Western Isles Cup.

You know what, why don't you create your football federation and get other nations involved as well :)

Thanks for reminding me that I should update the IFAF page. In that same vein, if any of you would like to make a logo for your own confederations, I'd love that.

If I'm correct most French-Canadians are descended from roughly 800 women sent to populate Nouvelle France in the 1600s.

A Dutch gynecologist fathered at least seventeen donor children, it has emerged earlier this month:

2/3s of our population died during the black death and entire tracts of land were depopulated, to be honest i wouldn't be surprised if there are tons of stories like that in Norway.

I am alive because the US nuked Hiroshima/Nagasaki in 1945, my grandfather was slated to be part of the invasion force going into Japan.

Anyone interested in a trade RP? Littolyo's major car companies are looking for new markets abroad. The two biggest are Camrol (comparable to the Ford's and Toyota's of the world) and Kudos (their models generally range in comparability from Acura to BMW). We also have Brella, akin to Rolls-Royce, which makes very exclusive luxury cars and specializes in limousines for heads of state.

Lmk!
