In today’s way of thinking, he did and say racist remarks on multiple occasions, in the day of nobody can be offended, this was enough reason for them to do what I consider despicable, tearing down a statue

If people really want to get rid of statues, at least just put them up for sale so that afficionados can buy them and some money is generated for the community.

I remember seeing Confederate statues in Florida back when I lived there and it was rather... wierd. Especially as I've heard that some US army bases are named after Confederate generals...
Compare that to Finland where there are literally no statues and a small amount memorials glorifying the reds of the Finnish Civil War and even then, most red memorials are dedicated to the victims of white prison camps during the 'spring of revenge'.
Hell, even the Republic of Karelia, a Russian republic with a noticable Finnish and Karelian population and an area that was later administrated by the same Finnish communists, passed legislation to tear down memorials glorifying the Communist Party of Finland and Finnish reds.

As far as I know, there is almost no statues of Napoleon in France. Even though he did great things for France and Republicanism, and propelled Europe into a greater age, towards democracy, their is no statues due to the bloodshed he had and the sheer needless death. In Japan, you dont see Meji because even though he reformed the nation and propelled it into a global power it is now, he also was the cause of a civil war and thousands of Japanese killing their own kin. In England I dont remember any Churchill statues, even though of his massive contribution to WW2, he also prolonged the conflict for unconditional surrender which caused millions more to die, much less the endless bloodshed at Gallipoli years prior.
Now, in the South where these people fought mainly for the subservience and bastardization of their fellow man simply because of a darker pigment of skin, why in hell should they deserve a statue?
