Twitter is working on moving away from certain words used by their engineering team in favor of "more inclusive" terms.
Speaking as a female in a technical field, I can say with great confidence and joy that Twitter has finally taken steps to fix this horrible detrimental issue that has plagued society since the *checks notes* uhh something about patriarchy- *checks notes again* uhh... white people...?
I don't recall a single time in my life that either I or anyone I know has ever been offended by terms such as Man Hours or Grandfathered. Blacklist has never had racial connotations nor a racist origin. Even terms like Sanity Check are getting benched for "inclusivity". Why they're making such a huge deal out of this irrelevant thing that the public won't even see anyways instead of putting more effort into shutting down the thousands upon thousands of spam/bot accounts intentionally spreading misinformation and discourse across the site or fixing their blatantly partisan censorship is yet another fascinating look at how out of touch the corporate world is with reality.
I imagine all the people at twitter who thought of this are applauding themselves on their wokeness

Speaking from too much experience, I can say it's a typical big-organization management response, possibly reacting to a few extreme voices in their organizations. It's cheap, it's easy, and it does nothing.
