Personally I'd like to have resided in this region for a little longer before running for any office. I don't personally feel like I am ready.

I don't like having to chose between running as a caretaker if no-one else does since I'm afaik the oldest memher to have never held office, but I also want SECURE governance.

I went for the ballsy approach on my first job - which was for Waitrose, an upmarket supermarket chain in the UK. It was a full day interview, where in the morning we had the "team building" exercises - build a bridge out of paper and straws.

In that session, the group I was with wanted to make some big arse suspension bridge - which I knew wouldn't take the weight that was expected. So, probably rather undiplomatically, I suggested a pontoon bridge as it was low, minimal risk and would take the weight. We slowly brought the group round to my idea (I remember one chap was obviously fuming my idea trumped his). Surprise surprise, my idea worked.

When it came to the face-to-face interview, they raised this as to why I was adamant to go with my idea. I bluntly replied that I knew, from experience, the other ideas would fail and that the only logical course of action was the pontoon. Yes, it was dramatically different and didn't get the approval of all the observing managers but it fitted the task outlines and out-performed all the other bridges by miles. I went on to state that I knew I was likely over qualified for stacking shelves, but they needed someone to not only be able to stack shelves but to be polite and well spoken for the customers. The chap interviewing me seemed to smile and nod in agreement, lady from HR looked like she was about to get triggered by this young, white privileged male.

Walking out of the interview and driving home I was adamant I'd blown my chances and probably made a complete arse of myself. Not long after I get home (so about 40 minutes after I left) the chap rang me and offered me the job. Said I had a few more hoops to jump through but "the job was mine".

I should point out I'm quite timid and withdrawn in normality and play it safe - but that day something tweaked and made me act the way I did. Haven't acted like that in interviews before or since.

Wellsia wrote:Using the term Elite to describe a unit usually has negative connotations to the rest of your military. Everyone knows they are Elite troops, but no soldier wants to be considered second class. You could use such names as Rangers, Special Operations, Guards (Russian), etc., also the organization and name of your military units is up to you, but the force sizes that you have, 250 men and 75 men are more company or battalion size units. Usually a division is between 10 and 20 thousand men and includes infantry or armor, artillery, engineers, supply and support units. The only country that I am aware of that used the term division as a small unit was the pre-1866 Austrian Army which divided it's battalions into three divisions of two companies.

Infantymen would feel second class to commandos, would they not?
Also, I used divisions there not in the military sense of division, but in the everyday sense as the troops being divided.

Literally calling one group "standard" and the other "elite" is too sharp of a difference. They can know that the other guys are more elite, but actually calling them that isn't a good idea. Special people can be special, but your line troops should not be made to feel inferior by their actual name. Call the special troops something other than "elite". That's a descriptive, but lame title. Look at what that unit actually does. They could take their name, and their sense of eliteness from a special task they perform. "Ranger" or "Guard" or something like that would make far more sense.

Use normal names for units, otherwise nobody is going to know what you are talking about.

According to the country, in South Africa Commandos are militiamen. We aren’t saying there aren’t elite but using the term is what we are saying you shouldn’t do. Commandos aren’t any better then Line Infantry they just have special training for a certain job. There is a reason that the USMC has no special units, the closes they have are Recon.

Number of Soilders: 52.500
Active: 35.000
Reserve: 17.500

Doctrine: Aggressive Defense

Organization: Name, Strength, Units, Commander
Army, 10.000-35.000, 2-7 Legions, Grand Marshal
Legion, 5.000, 5 Regiments, Marshal
Regiment, 1.000, 10 Standards, Colonel
Standard 100, 3 Lines with 10 support staff, Captain
Line, 30, 3 Squads, Leuitent
Squad, Na, Sargent

There are no branches for the navy and the air force. The 3rd Legion is divided into the royal guard, air support, and naval support.

Doctrine dictates limited international intervention. Only allies engaged in defensive wars will receive ground troops.

I just wanted something unique for my nation, I'll consider these proposals but I see nothing wrong with calling a more specialised unit 'Elite' and the normal ones 'Standard'. They won't feel inferior as they apply to be elite, though training is significantly harder.

"Standard" would still give off the connotation you aren't good enough, and barring unusual circumstances the human psyche does not like being labelled as inferior

"Elite" is more of an "I'm better at everything than you are" descriptor than an "I'm highly trained and specialize in doing X and Y really well"

A solution could be if Elite is a logical consequence when you start as Standard and train hard enough to meet the requirements to be 'promoted' to the Elite.

Woo, a nation that has a smaller population than me! Let's talk.

I'm not looking forward to this weekend. I manage a family restaurant and it's Mother's Day. Anyone else work in the industry?

I think sudden entrance into the hall makes less sense. Like say that your government had sent its application through your foreign minister or so much earlier and now, your official is present to be considered.

Earlier, we had the members ask question ICly to pending members on various stuff. I think we will also continue that.
