The creation of the Dhari paper mill in 1862 was due to a chance meeting of two eminent gentlemen: Lasith Dhari, an inventor and industrialist from Dhulabari (then in Santhal Hangate; now part of Koch Hangate) and Lepmuhang Hangun, a prominent financer, publisher and politician. Dhari became one of the most innovative paper producers in the Isles, delivering first-class products to an Isles-wide customer base.
Nagesia has its roots in Antim Nagesia, was one of the most prominent 19th century businessmen in the then Santhal Hangate of the Khas-Kirat Empire. The company was founded in 1851 and timber trading, shipping and sawmill operations started to grow. Later the company focused on pulp, paper and timber production and machinery, later expanding to glassworks.
By the beginning of the 1930s, Nagesia had grown into the newly-established Empire of Magarat's largest industrial conglomerate.
The outbreak of the Imperial War led the company to convert much of its production to support the Empire of Magarat's war effort.
During the 1980s, Nagesia left the newsprint and magazine paper market and focused its operations on specialty papers. One of the most profound decisions in Magarati industrial history was made in 1987, when Nagesia unexpectedly sold its paper-producing units. Leaving newsprint production increased the relative value of Nagesia's specialty paper and engineering units.
In the 1990s, Nagesia expanded its focus to include non-woven products. In 1996, Nagesia Corporation established the Nagesia Paper Group to encompass the company's fiber-based materials operations.
In 2016, Nagesia Corporation and Dhari Limited announced a plan merge the two companies.

Anyone got some sources of information on this? I haven't really been keeping up with events in the area recently and don't know much about the guy. Is the political situation in Ukraine seriously so dire that an actor could just come out of nowhere and get elected?
He's not out of nowhere, he's been starring in a political comedy called "Servant of the People" (on Netflix for US people, I think) for the last three years.
But yeah, the political situation is not great.
Electing a member of the public who's actually worked in a field outside of politics and isn't part of the establishment? It's just like Reagan all over again.
