The Argentine-Antarctic War |
The Antarctic Imperium’s National Assembly makes the vote, and in late 2121, the Antarctic Imperium declares war on the New Argentine Republic. It is said that “For the continued stability and national security of Antarctica, the Antarctic Imperium will be conducting a military invasion of Argentina”.
The Antarctic armies launch in the less populated south of Argentina in the Chubut-Gallegos Offensive. Antarctic Forces began bombing campaigns over Argentina especially targeting the Río de la Plata region. The southern offensive went into effect with the landings at Comodoro and Rio Gallegos. Antarctic troops assaulted the cities after bombings heavily weakened Argentine defenders. The Argentines were forced to flee the larger cities in attempts to halt an Antarctic invasion by using the country-side. Argentine forces manage to hold off Antarctic troops from entering Trelew, halting Antarctic advances north.
In the far south, Argentines begin to get encircled causing a panic amongst them and a quick retreat from southern positions quickly replaced by Antarctic occupation. Argentines fall back to El Calafate. Antarctic forces chase them to the city and try to hold a siege. Defending Argentines plan for an escape across Lago Argentino as Antarctic troops in Santa Cruz province are told to slow down all advances as to not spread their currently limited forces too thin.
In Buenos Aires, Antarctic ships attempt to shell the city alongside Antarctic Bombing campaigns over the city. For the Buenos Aires blockade, it is the only option given by the military which made the strategy of taking Argentine Patagonia before the Rio de la Plata.

btw is it fine if 2122 starts Friday and starting then, years are 1 week long
