Le Front de Liberation du Midand rebels holding 4700 hostages inside the Volaworand QEL Marble Mine have said they are ready and willing to die if their demands are not met by Volaworand and Midand.
In an interview with the Iran-somalia state media, Movsar Barayev, thought to have led the raid, warned that more coordinated actions would follow if Volaworand did not stop the war in South Pacifica Isles and withdraw its troops from Midand.
"This is only the first stage. The second stage, third, fourth and so on will follow. Our deadline is approaching ... If it is not met we will continue killing 10 hostages a day."
The hostage-taker also said the organizers of the raid were members of an independent FLM cell called "FLM Suicide fighters", denying reports of any links with Za front ni totte sakhalin unity network.
"While we salute freedom and liberation movements around the world, this is our fight, ours to win. We follow the Manifesto of Le Front de liberation du Midand above all else."
'Freedom and paradise'
In a chilling message to Rothera, he said the group was prepared for a possible assault by Volaworandian elite troops and would implode the mine.
"We have nothing to lose. We have already covered 2,000 kilometres by coming here. There is no way back...We have come to succeed or to die. Our goal is freedom and paradise. We already have freedom as we've come to Queen Elizabeth Land. Now we want to be in paradise."
The hostage-taker said the group came not to kill the hostages or to fight with Volaworand's elite special forces, as they have had enough fighting in Midand and South Pacifica Isles over the years.
"We came here with a specific aim - to put an end to the war and that is it. We will fight to the death if necessary."
Meanwhile, Volaworand TV channel's broadcast statements allegedly made by several other hostage-takers inside the mine.

"I swear we are more keen on dying than you are keen on living," a black-clad male said in the broadcast, believed to have been recorded on Wednesday. "Each one of us is willing to sacrifice himself for the independence of Midand's workers."
The channel also showed footage of a woman in Tropical dress who claimed to be one of the hostage-takers.
"We have chosen to die in Volaworand and we will kill thousands of imperialists," said the woman, her face covered with an oversize lampshade and flanked by several other women.
"Even if we die, thousands of our brothers and sisters are ready to give their lives to free our motherland."

Felis Silvestris Grampia truck attack: Everything points to a FLM terror plot

“People were mowed down along the entire route,” a witness told Dagens Silvestra.
At least fifteen citizens have been killed and a further eighteen injured after a truck ran into a crowd on a Felis silvestris grampia street in what authorities say looks like a terrorist attack.
“Felis Silvestris Grampia has been attacked. Everything points to a Le Front de Liberation du Midand terror attack,” the Silvestran Lord said Tuesday.
A truck crashed into a department store Tuesday morning and several citizens were rushed away in ambulances.
The Silvestran police said the attacker was at large and didn’t know if the event was isolated or if more attacks were to come.
Per Thorell, a visiting tourist, also said the incident looks like a terrorist attack.
“I suspect it is because of the modus operandi. This is something that has happened across the South Pacific before,” he said.
A police task force was in place around a busy shopping area in the capital. Silvestran police told people to avoid the city center, the most central public square.
Police said they received reports of shootings across different parts of the city, but those couldn’t be confirmed. They also said no one had been arrested.
“Given the recent events in the rest of the South Pacific it cannot be ruled that this is an act of terrorism,” police said in a statement.
The Silvestran Security Service said it hasn’t raised its terror threat levels following the attack.
“It remains at level three, where it has been since 2010,” a spokesperson said. Level three indicates there’s a high risk of terrorist attacks.
Silvestran’s train system was shut down and all hospitals in the city are operating in emergency mode.
The truck used in the suspected attack was hijacked earlier Friday, said Silvestran brewery SilvestranSPIT, which owns the vehicle, according to reports.
“We have the car and contact to the person that usually drives the car. But we don’t have contact to the person, or persons, that drove it [during the attack],” head of the Silvestran police, said during a Friday press conference.
