Hi :3 {_-_-_-]>.>)/

Auphelia wrote:5 posts, eh? Okayyyyyyyyyyyy . . .

It was originally 10, but people complained that was too many, so I reduced it to 5.

Lily pad nation wrote:I think we’re putting too much trust in our LCs.

Could you make it more sterner, like LC, when seeing 5 past posts of rp, should suppress it.

That way suppressable rp isn’t to the whims and tastes of a few and we’d get a bit more guidance.

The problem with unambiguous laws is that every RP is different, so it's hard to make a law that fits everything. By giving the LC more power, it allows for every case to be considered individually. Of course the downside is that the LC has a lot of power, but you should only elect people you trust into these jobs.

New Haudenosaunee Confederacy wrote:Why do you have to use Type A and Type B as names? You should really just call it nation-based and character-based, so it's less confusing and makes more logical sense.

This is true. I'll change that for my next update. When I wrote the law, I expected to be referring to the different types more often, but that never happened.

The sakhalinsk empire wrote:Thanks for putting this up! I will add this to my list of LC Legislation, with you as the proxy for me. After all, it's my idea, though I'll note that you contributed some parts. :D

I've been planning on doing this for a couple of months, and Erinor mentioned it too around the same time. TBH I didn't actually read your laws because I was on holiday at the time, but sorry if you feel like I'm stealing your ideas.

The Solar System Scope wrote:I think PS2 hasn't been around on the Board enough to experience the importance of silly, plotless RP to the regional culture...

I read every post. I know full well how much RP there is on the RMB. There are reasons for my lack of activity here which I'll come to later in my post.

Si-topia wrote:Yeah, that's kinda true. I honestly don't see why rp is disliked by so many people. Our board would be so boring without it ;-;

It makes it hard for much else to happen. When there is RP on the RMB, it's like a flood which drowns everything else out with pages of posts. Other conversations can coexist, but RP often seems very overwhelming

Ironspire wrote:*glares at PS2* if that person dares to interfere with plotless rp, I swear, it'll be the last thing it ever does.

My job is to do what people want. People have been complaining about RMB RP for a while, so I'm trying to make some sort of balance with my law which allows RP to start here, but stops it from taking over. Clearly, my compromise solution pleases nobody.

OK, so this is kinda related, but I just wanted to talk about my activity levels recently. Honestly, I kinda feel burnt out. I wanted to make RMB moderation laws with the help of RMBers that were clear and accepted by as many people as possible. This has been harder than expected. The criticism I've received has been fair, but it just sucks the energy out of me to know that my best efforts aren't good enough. I'm increasingly finding that reading every RMB post (particularly when I'm making the QuickNews), has become a chore. There have always been aspects of jobs on NS that have been a little tedious - dealing with that is part of the responsibility of those who are elected, but it's all becoming a bit much for me now. I used to open up NS as soon as I could in the morning because I was excited about what happened overnight, but now I find myself procrastinating going here, because I know there'll be hundreds of posts that I need to read/respond to, but really don't want to. I don't really know where this leaves me. I don't want to resign my position because don't want to fail the people who put their faith in me (and besides, we have no mechanism in the LC laws to deal with a resigning councillor - another thing that's my fault). I guess I'll just continue and hope I feel happier tomorrow, and maybe to cut out bits of the QuickNews so I don't feel obliged to read every RMB post.

Sorry for whining, you shouldn't have to listen to me do that, but I just had to get this stuff off my chest.

You whine as much as you want dear! After all, if I had to summarise everything that happened in the RMB . . . my head would most certainly hurt. And you can't make everyone happy with laws, so just pick one person (*cough*Auphelia*cough*) and try to make them happy instead! People will come around eventually.

I give good advice.

I remember saying something about this nation being based on a story. If you wanna see the part of it I have down so far, you can check out my factbooks section. There’s a brief overview there that’ll be updated as I make progress on the story!
