Woo! My nation is officially nuclear powered! Fusion reactors ftw!! Who wouldve guessed all you needed to do was invert the magnetosphere and blast process the plasma capacitors! Its so simple!

edit: but for realz tho, small scale fusion reactors are impossible because the only place they exist in nature are stars which compresses the plasma with gravity through sheer mass. Something our technology cant do no matter how many magnets you plug into a reactor core.

Now all you need is overheated and undermaintained nuclear reactors.

the best thing about fusion reactors if we ever make them is that when they fail they dont go critical, the energy evaporates harmlessly because they cant fuse anymore to create the reaction.

Oh wait I read fission reactors O_o

That's why I was so confused with the different terminology lol

Heard thorium reactors were an alternative to uranium reactors

Personally Im all for small-scale fission reactors, like a small plant that can power a few tens of thousand homes instead of hundreds of thousands. And have them put out en masse instead of having 1 giant one that might take out a city if it blows up. I think it would be easier to contain a small nuclear fission reactor than one giant one but the security risks might be questionable.

I heard thorium was a no-go because of how it melts and gunks up the system because it needs to be in sand form to work.

But dont let that fool you, the technology around nuclear reactors are way safer than the ones displayed in fukushima and the worst nucler disaster was because a communist country was in charge of one.

Pretty sure the main reason is because wartime politics. Uranium. Humans are pretty smart but also incredibly dumb.

I know how safe fission reactors are though, there's only a handful of disasters. Unlike, say, oil. And coal.

Americans like Drumpf because in a democratic country you're allowed to vote for the person who exemplifies your beliefs the most. Unfortunately a large portion of Americans do believe the same things The King in Orange does, hes just their supersize xtra large avatar to carry it out. Blame Trump for all his crap but realize that your neighbours did in fact choose him unironically.

heres a good vid about why nuclear energy is no longer the threat it used to be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3znG6_vla0
This guy is a youtuber but hes also an accredited physicist whose been employed by America's energy department from time to time.

We can (and should) hold politicians accountable, but the flailing weakness of a democracy lies within a country's citizens' ability to think. And unfortunately in most of the US, most of its citizens don't think very well. The people to blame aren't a "secret society" or a "shadow government" but the visible, tangible, and very real government that already does this crap and more. Most people don't realize it, but they're nothing but schmoods. Schmoods!

You're exemplary in that regard, but you're forgivable because you're charming.

I agree, most americans are undereducated. If i was wrong they literally wouldnt be banning climate sciences in schools.

lol your country has those flat earth era too and keep bible out of everything else as a supreme book that governs everything.

And I think everyone knows effects of climate change, but they will deny it due to economic reasons. If world gets in line with this green new deal or those rubbish things, more than 70% of the population will be unemployed and plus these “green methods” produce pollution of their own like in case of solar panels or lithium batteries.

And also, what atheists do not comprehend is that nature is sentient. Climate change can happen anytime with any of the natural phenomena like it happened 2000 years ago

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/1998/08/980819081321.htm

And people cannot do anything about it. Wht we CAN actually try to do is find the balance between conventional and green methods and strive to reduce land and air pollution.
