Yeah, not exactly easy maintaining a region where hunger, thirst, and drought is extreme so I expected people to get booted.

And on an unrelated note, I've determined in the past that apparently pro-capitalism responses to issues absolutely kill my stats in huge swathes... while pro-communism responses typically boost everything... and to that end, I made huge strides in advancing my statistical position in the rankings today... at the expense of my dignity and integrity (real-life, not the stat). My nation was supposed to be one of freedom... NOT socialism. It just happens to be the kind of freedom that applies to persons, not corporations. It was supposed to be freedom of the "Do whatever you like as long as it doesn't lower overall freedom" kind.
But alas... it is getting a bit out of hand. I will have to find other, discrete methods of lowering authoritarianism.
In the meanwhile... my Arms Manufacturing is now up to 4th place for the whole of NS, while my Information Technology is in 6th... for the time being.

I'd like a steak myself.. also you are doing it wrong! you can be corporate fascist and make those stats go up faster.. the problem is freedom itself! If you let your people think for themselves of course they will do the exact opposite of what is efficient. Pro capitalist stats will rise dramatically if you embrace the dark side!

I do not fully understand if it is a massive banjection for squashing political dissidence, civil war, raid, personal choice or an anarchist collapse of your regional society. But I will tell you this, this region is not the "Hell of NationStates" that everyone perceives. If this is Hell, this would be one where tyrannical monarchy and cancerous speech have been thrown away for the advocation of a society of Freedom, logic and order. No it ain't. Else why are there communist regions like The Communist Bloc ? It's just that most people here are centrist democratic.
The key is nailing the Economy first. Then try to increase personal and/or political freedoms without doing anything to jeopardize your economy and get it demoted. Just make sure you never go below Democratic Socialists and you will be fine.
