OOC:Nah, it's good. I do that all the time

Rothaland wrote:The point is we deem your fee way too high and not worth it.

That's your choice.

Anacodia wrote:Your choice. But "some people cant afford it" isnt a very strong argument.

It is more that the point of the railroad is moot if it is cheaper to ship the cargo by boat or truck.
It is not that people can't afford, it is just that it would be pointless to spend trillions on a system that would be far more expensive then use then existing ones.

Most of the cargoes will be shipped by private companies, do you really think they will choose the far more expensive alternative?

Airol wrote:I had planned for a 5-9% tax depending on where you went. For the Krimeran-Rothaland it could go up to 12%, but not higher than that. I will think about a 13-14% tax through Anacodia, but I doubt you will even think about it.

That is not realistic either. By ship the cost is around 35% (could be up to 45% to the other side of the world)so you certainly need it cheaper than that but 5-9% total seems a bit too cheap. Around 25% is realistic.

Anacodia wrote:Give me a good reason other than "some people cant afford it" or vague promises.

Cause I envisioned this railway to go through every nation, every major city... go to great lengths to make this region, The Radiant, a more trade strong and more tourist home. Give people jobs, and let the world see places that other never saw before. Like people from Wakefield go to the small city of Port of Arac. People from Lagos, Saint Ryvern to Leander, Carmine.

Protip: "thats fine too" =/= "I dont want it"

You said you'd do better without it when first discussing the railroad. Being just fine with not having the railroad connect to Anacodia does mean you don't want it. If you did want it you'd take the risk and see if it's economically sound. If you did want the railroad, you'd be in support of it.

I am in support of it. Hence why I stated a fee. If I didn't want it, I wouldn't list a price.

So, from what I'm seeing is that this argument is about the worldwide train track.

Well if you did want it, you'd see that we aren't going to accept that price. Then you'd propose a price deemed more reasonable, I think most would be willing to agree to rasing the tax over time.

Yep pretty much lol

As I stated when this first came up, feel free to make a counter offer for your nation.
