Everyone, I cannot emphasize enough how crucial it is that you participate in the ECC process. This is simply the largest change we have had in Union history. We are essentially rewriting our Constitution. This is no simple matter. I encourage everyone to please telegram Nassau with your candidacy so we can continue bringing progress to this great region!
We have a new Parliament, and we're holding elections for the delegates to our first Extraordinary Constitutional Convention (ECC)!
Attention All Senators:
We need one more person to nominate themselves for ECC Delegate. This is an important role with great responsibility, but nevertheless it is a necessary position and we need someone to step up.
Abdoa, Bostler, and Islamic state of malaya
I have to ask: Is this ECC going to be like the Convention to Amend The Articles of Confederation where the Delegates just drafted an entirely new Constitution?
It might be, but it might not, for several reasons. First, the Articles of Confederation was essentially a treaty between thirteen separate nations to form a weak EU-style alliance. The states were quickly growing apart culturally, and the states each had different policies for everything, even currency. They fixed that with a Constitution.
Now, what we have here is a Constitution that works almost perfectly. I would expect the majority of proposals to add to the Constitution, not drastically changing existing policy. But I may be wrong, and it really is in the hands of the Delegates.
Aralunya and Abdoa
Where do I submit it?
It can be either, but its easier to debate if its already well developed.
As Abdoa said, a complete document is preferred. However, if it's a work in progress, that's ok, as long you can finish it soon. However, for just an idea, I don't think that will work, since the Delegates won't really have much to debate.
