You aren't meant to put a main gun off of the centerline of the turret. The force of it firing will make the turret lurch and turn away from the target.
Or, worse, the weight of the turret is unbalanced. Meaning it's not going to like being in certain positions.

Not really a laser, innit? That's a radioactivity thrower. And that means - not only the enemy will die of radiation poisining.

Also, obvious inbalance on turret is obvious

that's... wait. gamma rays is included in the light spectrum. Lasers emit heat in the form of light correct? therefore.. isn't gamma rays part of the laser spectrum?

Remember kids, starving political opponents to death and thus de facto starving an entire nation to death because they all hate you is the best way to maintain stability in a nation you occupy.

In Stellaris, the best way to do is work the population to death on a world that's full of fortresses and soldiers and under martial law.

Well, unfortunately, science doesn't agree with you there, but I admire the effort. There is a difference between the electromagnetic spectrum and the visible light spectrum

Intentional failure in Rockemsockem military?

Yesterday at a public presentation of the new prototypes of the Rockemsockem Armed Forces' Development department, the Army of the nation presented a new tank prototype. (...)
Upon engaging in a firing exercise, the turret of the main tank used for the presentation first caused the tank to heavily lean towards the opposite side it fired at, followed by a chain reaction of mechanical failures. A split second after the shot was fired, the turret ring blew open, causing multiple types of ammunition to be thrown around. In an unfortunate chain of events, the engine and fuel tanks were hit by a heated shell, causing an immediate eruption. (...)

The accident cost 5 lives - 3 tank personnel and 2 emergency operators. (...)

The Municipal government will probably spend about a week disassembling what went wrong just for fun since it's got nothing else to do.
